"Let's talk later," Rena says and jumps ahead.

Five men attempt to ambush and are instantly cut into many pieces.

If I didn't focus, I wouldn't see Rena's movements.

As time passes, the resistance, despite being weak, doesn't seem to stop. I underestimated their numbers.

Fatigue seems to be gradually catching up to the invaders.

Radz swiftly cuts down four people at once. He now uses a long and thin sword yet can display his original ferocious power along with agility.

However, Radz soon realises that the defenders were attempting to separate Radz from his group and overwhelm him.

His subordinates are busy fighting their own battles as Radz is continuously bombarded from all directions. His sturdy defence helped but how long can he hold?

------------------

A main mission has been created.

Help the rebel army conquer Opium City.

Reward:

->Rena's favourability

->???

There is no penalty for this mission.

-------------------

Five people jump onto Radz from behind, trying to restrain his movements. Radz attempts to shake them off as more and more attacks his body.

I jump down and decapitate every attacker.

"I will help," I say to Radz.

"Thank you."

As if brainwashed, many people rush to their deaths in an attempt to push back the invaders. Their sheer grit shakes the army's will. This is why Opium City still stands today. Everyone here is crazy.

"How many of them are there?!" a soldier of the rebel army exclaims.

"Damn it! They just keep coming!"

Although they are stronger overall in terms of strategy and strength, the onslaught barrage of attacks depletes their stamina and cast a shadow of fear.

The frontline of the rebel army starts to shatter.

"Do they not care for their lives?!" Radz exclaims.

"Yes," I reply as I cut down three more people. "They believe in the concept of reincarnation."

Radz grabs a woman attacking him and throws her against another group of attackers. With one slash, he cuts through the chunk of humans. His slash was embedded into the bricks.

Opium City is as big as one thousand five hundred square kilometres with a population of roughly ten million.

Seventy percent of the population are fighters belonging to the three gangs and Despair.

Excluding the casualties from the meteors, we will have to fight seven million people. The rebel army has only five hundred thousand in contrast.

But this pales in comparison with my recent dungeon experience. We only had ten people to fend off millions of monsters.

I rush forward and paint a symphony of blood, staining the streets with a river of corpses.

No matter how much they try to overwhelm me with numbers, my tornado slashes and agile footwork simply formed an unreachable barrier.

Radz stares in awe from afar. Somehow my back fishes a familiar respect from deep within his soul.

"Young master?" He mumbles. But the idea quickly throws out of the window when Radz thinks about it. The man in front of his eyes can't be Samuel. My personality, looks, and even strength is superior to the young master he knew.

Limbs, blood, head, eyes, and gore fly.

Albeit me doing well, it is not the case for the rebels. They are spared no moment to rest and their senses dull, ending their lives.

A child flings himself at a rebel knight and stabs a poisoned knife into his legs. The knight kicks the child away but dies from a stab from behind.

"Those damn brats!"

The fatal weakness of the majority of rebels is children. The reason why they are fighting is to liberate their country for the well-being of their family, which means they have morals.

I glance ahead to see a group of young girls crying amidst the pile of corpses, cowering in a corner.

...

It's a trap. I know it is. They have weapons hidden within their ragged clothes.

"Fucking hell..." I mumble to myself.

I walk towards the young girls and once close enough, they immediately attack, throwing vials of purple fog at my face.

----------------

You have been poisoned.

Your demonic nature and mana circulation have suppressed the effects and duration of the poison.

You will not lose health points but suffer some side effects.

----------------

A terrible headache accompanied by blurry vision strikes.

Adult warriors take that chance to end me but...

*BAM!*

I swing my body and slam my fist against one man, the force propels him away, sending spirals of blood.

Next, a kick to his sword sends it piercing another assailant.

As for the remaining, I slash through everyone effortlessly.

I turn back to the girls who shiver from my power.

"Have you ever fought with a broken body and tattered exhaustion? Every step I took and every single swing of my sword exuded great pain." I say.

I swipe up my blood-drenched hair from covering my eyes. "This much is nothing."

And I knock all the young girls out.

--------------

The poison duration has ended.

You have attained:

-Poison Resistance(lvl 1)

Skill level up!

Mental Resistance(lvl 7->8)

--------------

I look back to see the massacre I caused.

With a sigh, I acknowledge my growth.

...

No.

People died in the dungeon even if I have grown immensely stronger. It is not a blessing.

Anyways, I noticed something. Most of the fighters are heading in the direction of the black market district. I follow the path of the enemies just to find Rena alone dealing with an ocean of enemies. Mountains of corpses have piled up around her.

They are specifically targeting Rena but no matter how much meat they throw, it's futile.

Unless...there is another goal?

Suddenly, Rena freezes momentarily and widens her eyes.

"Rena?"

I jump in to save Rena from eleven assailants.

"Rena? What's wrong?!" I ask.

"S-Sorry..." Rena replies.

She clicks her tongue and tightens her grip around her sword. "Fuck. Damn it."

...?

As a last resort, she turns to me.

"Arsto, I need your help. In the south of Opium City, we have a temporary camp. Meet the magician there and teleport to Pole Ridge. Please help me fend them off." Rena says as she shreds through countless people.

I cut down two more and replies "Fend who off? Isn't Pole Ridge the headquarters of your rebel army?"

"I've received reports that demonic cultists are attacking Pole Ridge. Since we are rebels, we are left to fend for ourselves."

"The Grande household is there. No?"

Rena gulps. "Yes...but a demonic cult executive is present."

!

"They have no intentions of letting me leave. And I cannot leave. Everyone will die. I will reward you appropriately so I beg you. Save them."

For the first time, hopelessness overwhelms her demeanour.

----------------

The main mission has been updated.

Save Pole Ridge in time.

You have three hours left.

Reward:

->Rena's favourability
