Chapter 81:

“But how long do I have to stay here”

Now that his companion has noticed, does Leon needs to be locked in somewhere he knows..…?
I’m sure my father is thinking something else.
If I reach out to Janice, the answer will come sooner or later.
The plan would change depending on her, but I was anxious.

“Jenice won’t let go of Leon.”

It won’t be in her options.
Delther would continue to tighten her neck, and the emperor would not leave Janice alone.

‘I can’t guess, I don’t even think this is going to happen.’

I rolled around in bed trying to soothe my disturbed mind.
After rolling around for a long time, I jumped up and got ready to go out.

“I can’t do this. I should go out for a walk.”

“……Where are you going to go again?”

“Oh my gosh!”

El’s sudden appearance caused my heart to plummet.

“……Can you please give me a warning before?”

“Well, I will be fired by then.”

I nodded at El’s words. It was convincing.
If you’re a shadow and you’re seen, Edgar won’t leave you alone because you’re not faithful in your job.

“I’m frustrated, so I’m going to take a walk.”

“Then I’ll take you to the garden.”

“No, outside! I want to see people.”

I folded my arms and looked up at El.

“I need to eat some sweets.”

“I can always buy you sweets.”

“……Are you really going to do this?”

“……I said this before, I’m only doing my work.”

“You’re so mean.”

I cried with a dissapointed look.

“Then let’s go see the mine.”

“Why the mine all of a sudden…….”

“I’m wondering how well it’s going because it’s where my stake is.”

“Let’s just go to the cafe.”

El looked at me with shiny eyes, half giving up.
I think he felt sorry for me being locked up all day.

“Really?”

“I don’t say empty words.”

I smiled broadly at El and went out at once toward the door.
El looked at me and held out his hand.

“Shall we go now?”

“Okay.”

“He’ll tell the royal family that he found lady Elle anyways”

“Really?”

Wow, now I can breath a little.
But again, why he didn’t tell me and only you guys know everything!

“Oh, please pretend you don’t know because Count Edgar will tell you later.”

El put his index finger to his lips and spoke in a quiet tone.

* * *

Janice came out to town feeling frustrated.
Edgar’s offer to her was frankly harsh.
It doesn’t matter how she do it, as long as it get her out of the royal family.
Besides, I can’t believe I’m Elle cousins…
I wasn’t sure if I should believe it, but it wouldn’t be a lie if he told me even with all the risk.

“Ha, I’m frustrated.”

I just thought that I would be free if I had strength.
But the power tied me up even more.
I have be a saint. I wish I had been appointed because I was well qualified…….
To do so, justification was needed.
I never thought the emperor would give me the right to succession. I knew it was a to hold me, but I couldn’t refuse.
It may be for that reason that he did not name me as a saint. Because if I became a saint, I would have my own power.

“Princess, you can’t go alone today.”

“It’s alright, I expected it.”

Even just allowing me to go out was a breeze.
I didn’t tell my father because he did something to me.

“His Highness must have gone somewhere else.”

“Yes, he seem to be busy.”

“I see.”

Janice stopped talking after that.
She saw someone that she was familiar with moving to the cafe where she had reserved.

“Huh? I think I saw her last time, too…”

A woman who catches her eye. Janice stared at her automatically.
She felt a subtle power that others didn’t know about.

“……We should go somewhere else besides the cafe.”

“Where do you mean?”

“I remember that I need some information”

When Janice saw a woman coming out of a guild alley, she wanted to go to the place where she came out.

“Are you trying to go to the guild?”

“Yes, since I’m out, I’ll have to do what I need to do. I don’t mind if you report it to His Highness.”

You won’t know what I asked for anyway.
The knight followed Janice’s countless times.

‘More than anything, she looks like lady Elle.’

Her intuition was saying that again. She thought it wouldn’t be the case last time, but she wanted to check it out this time.
If it was Elle indeed, we should have met in person.
And she wanted to ask her directly.
What she’s thinking and why is she hiding.
In the end, Janice stepped toward the place where the woman in the cape came out.

* * *

“Lady, I think you are too excited.”

“El, aren’t you bored watching me all day?”

“That’s true, but it’s all right. It’s not boring.”

El was never really bored. Because Elle didn’t stay still.

‘Moving like that would consume a lot of energy.’

Is that why you keep looking for people.
He saw Elle, who was smaller than him, for a long time. His heart ached when he saw the accessories on her wrist.

‘It must be red.’

I’m sure she’s nervous even if it didn’t show on her face?

“Look at this! Sir El, shall I buy a lot?”

I don’t think I should worry.
El nodded and looked at the bright Elle. Well, that would have changed Edgar.

“You can buy them all. You can spend as much money as you want, the Count won’t say anything.”

“Huh? What are you talking about. I’m going to spend my money.”

Elle smiled at El’s words. And indeed she spent her money lavishly.

“Ah! Sir El, let’s go there, too, since we’re here.”

“Where do you mean?”

“The weapons store!”

“……Why the weapons store?”

El became a little anxious at Elle’s words.
She was such an unpredictable person, he had no idea what she was going to do.

“Follow me for now.”

I had to take a little more time. I don’t know when I’ll go out again, so I’ll have to go around right now.
Elle pulled his hand.

“This is all…… means?”

El froze seeing Elle handing over various necessary weapons along with the sword that arrived recently.

“I’m fine.”

“It’s because I’m grateful. You’re suffering for no reason because of me.”

It has been said since ancient times that there is no one who does not sway to a material attack.
If El’s going to stay around, it’s better to keep his heart open.

“Please pay for all of this.”

El’s loyalty rose from deep inside when he saw Elle, who was casually offering a large sum of money.
Of course, Edgar wasn’t bad for him either.
But the material happiness that comes with warm words…

“I will do my best.”

His heart felt warm.

“Thank you. Then would you go out with me often?”

“Of course.”

Since he was Edgar’s shadow, wouldn’t Elle be the same as his master.

“Well, where are we going now.”

“Shall we go buy some cookies?”

“I think it’s better to go back now.”

“Walk around a little longer, will you?”

Elle grabbed El’s arm and glistened her eyes.
At that moment, someone popped up on the weapon table.

“Whoa!”

Another shadow suddenly appeared, and Elle grabbed her chest.

“I think you should go back, sir El.”

“Did something happen?”

“That’s…….”

The shadow, ron, whispered, observing Elle’s countenance.

“Well, the princess has come to the guild.”

“…I see.”

Elle looked at Ron and immediately gestured.
“Well, Mr. Shadow”

“…Yes?”

“I know I have to go back, so pick one for now.”

Somehow, she seemed to be feeling better than before.
El looked at her quietly. It looks like she achieved something she want.

“No, I….”

Ron’s gaze turned to the counted weapons.

‘…Sir El.’

Ron realized that El also bought a weapon at Elle’s urging. Apparently she won’t go unless she buy it.
Then there’s no need to say no.

“Thank you.”

At Ron’s words, Elle smiled broadly and nodded.

“I’ll go, so put it under my name. At times like this, I think I’ll relieve my stress by spending money.”

I was in a real good mood. As expected, having a lot of money is the best. I felt my stress relieved, so my endorphins whirled.
Ron eventually bought a lot of stuff. Actually, it was close to Elle’s hard spendings, but…….
Well, she’s glad he look happy.

“Shall we go now?”

“It is said that the Princess Janice is at the guild.”

“Hmm.”

Elle was not surprised. She thought she’d run into her when she came out to town.

‘She bit the bait.’

It may seem like it just came out of the bag, but I actually had another idea.
She wanted to meet Janice and hear her story in person. Even if Edgar had met with, it wouldn’t have been a good thing.

“Well, then, I’ll go.”

“Yes.”

Elle smiled. We’re finally seeing each other.
I wanted to go to the guild as soon as possible.
