So, if Lady Melissa did ever have a child, she was planning to have at least two of them.

Lady Melissa couldn't imagine her children (or at least future children) playing with each other as they bonded over sibling rivalry, something which she was never able to do.

Maybe she'll get a sister or a brother one day, but Lady Melissa knew that was practically impossible, her mom didn't even get her period anymore, and she was pretty sure her parents didn't want another child at their age, which she couldn't blame for.

If however Lady Melissa's parents adopted a child, that would still be pretty unlikely since they were too busy with work.

The past few days proved it, they were so busy with work that they couldn't even spend some time with their daughter, and Lady Melissa didn't blame them at all; it was just she wanted to spend time with them.

She wanted to just relax and chat with them like she used to do, on a daily basis.

Which was why Lady Melisa offered to even do some part of their work, hoping that this would lessen their worries and that they were able to relax more, even if it was by a tiny bit.

Oh, and also because she was secretly hoping this way her parents would be able to spend more time with her, be it during breakfast, or dinner, she didn't mind.

Lady Melissa wouldn't even mind if they decided to talk and have a little chat with her before she fell asleep, on the condition that she wasn't too tired nor sleepy though.

The point was that Lady Melisa wouldn't mind having a conversation with them no matter the time or place, as long as she could have a conversation with them and just chat like how they would usually do on a daily basis.

Lady Melissa wished that it would happen, and maybe with her helping her parents with some of their work, that wish could become a reality.

There was only one way to find out.

Before Lady Melissa knew it, it had already been daytime and she had spent the entire night, not even sleeping a wink, as she was too immersed in her thoughts, and maybe the amount of coffee she took yesterday was another reason why she wasn't able to sleep.

Well, Lady Melissa did try sleeping, but it didn't end up going as planned, she had changed her sleeping position several times, but she still ended up not being able to sleep.

So, Lady Melissa ended up giving up on even the idea of getting some sleep, knowing that she probably wouldn't be able to get any of it considering her previous attempts had so far been unsuccessful.

And before Lady Melissa knew it, she had spent hours thinking about her problems and her future if she was still alive by then of course.

Lady Melissa was sleepy, and her eye bags were evident.

She couldn't sleep a wink and this time her nightmares weren't to blame at all, so Lady Melissa got up from her bed, as she slowly made her way to the bathroom.

Ready to go inside and take a cold shower, to wake herself up as she was still sleepy, well she was sleepy the whole night considering the fact that she had not received any sleep but that wasn't the point.

Lady Melissa put the setting on cold, before the shower head had basically blasted her with cold water in her face, as she spit out some water, being caught off guard.

Lady Melissa had been closing her eyes the whole time she was doing so, she jolted and opened her eyes, as all of a sudden Lady Melissa miraculously was not sleepy anymore.

Well at least not that sleepy anymore, she was awake and ready to start off the day, with her parents hopefully.

Lady Melissa wondered what time she would be introduced to her new guard, which her parents had not even mentioned to her yet.

Maybe her parents had been too busy to mention it to Lady Melissa, since they did have work that they needed to finish.

Or maybe her parents had completely forgotten about it, since well they did have work they needed to finish that would probably be why they had forgotten to mention it to Lady Melissa.

Their brain must've been too busy with work and they were probably thinking too much with work, which Lady Melissa couldn't blame them for.

They had an estate to run, and it wasn't just any estate.

They had business deals, meetings, balls, and so much more to attend to.

Lady Melissa's parents were busy people, and the fact that she could even see their faces before, was something she should be grateful for.

But, Lady Melissa was greedy, she wanted more, no she needed more.

Maybe it was because her parents hadn't appeared the last few days, but she wanted them to appear desperately, she had kept thinking about this for the past few days basically.

Even though it had only been a day or two, or three before she had last had a meal with both of them, she had already missed them.

She missed their daily conversations and jokes they would have with each other.

She missed her father reading the newspaper every morning as she came down the stairs.

But, most of all, she missed how her parents would act in front of her.

She missed seeing her parents' cute antics with each other as they would often make her smile, or at the very least laugh.

It was just a small and simple action, yet that small and simple action was just so meaningful to Lady Melissa.

And now that the small and simple action was removed from her life, Lady Melissa felt a little bit empty.

No talks with her parents, and she hadn't even seen both their faces on the same day.
