"Alright, wait for a few more minutes and I'll be done."

Melissa said, as Justin patiently waited for her, whilst she said her goodbye to Kevin, or at least the picture of Kevin.

"I hope you're doing better now Kevin, I love you."

Melissa said to Kevin, as she soon left the graveyard with Kevin, finding another carriage for the both of them.

"We're going to the capital."

Melisa told Justin, who quickly nodded his head and soon enough he found a driver who was willing to bring the both of them to the capital.

Melissa and Justin entered the carriage, this time the carriage was much more comfortable than the previous one, probably because the area near the graveyard was filled with rich peasants, or Barons.

Melissa felt more at peace now, more comforted, it was as if she had finally accepted Kevin's death, and could finally move on.

Though Melissa wasn't completely sure whether she had moved on from his death since only time would be able to tell.

"We're here."

Justin announced to Melissa, as he opened the carriage door for her, and helped her get down from the carriage, paying the driver the cost of the trip soon after.

Melissa and Justin walked to one of the empty alleyways, taking their cloaks off and throwing it into the garbage can.

Before the both of them headed back to the Shayla carriage, which was still in the busiest streets of the capital, or at least one of the busiest streets in the capital.

The driver had been sleeping whilst he waited for Melissa and Justin to arrive, jolting immediately when he saw the both of them appearing, as he managed to keep himself awake to greet Melissa.

"To the Shayla estate."

Melissa said as she took a seat in the carriage, letting out a sigh of relief now that she had managed to do everything she was planning to do today.

The driver nodded his head, though Lady Melissa couldn't see it since she wasn't able to see the driver.

Justin looked as if he was relieved too, though Lady Melissa wouldn't really know since he kept a stoic face the whole time he had been guarding Melissa, ever since the very first day.

Justin had somehow always kept a calm composure, thinking first before doing or saying something.

After what seemed like a few minutes to Lady Melissa, the both of them had finally arrived back to the Shayla manor, in which Lady Melissa was surprisingly greeted by both of her parents.

"How was your trip to the capital?"

The Duke asked as he looked into Lady Melissa's eyes.

"It was nice."

Lady Melissa said, replying to the Duke's question.

"Did you buy anything?"

The Duchess curiously asked, wondering if her daughter had bought anything from the capital.

"Not really."

Lady Melissa coldly said to her mother, as the Duchess knew what Lady Melissa was trying to do.

Seeing as how Lady Melissa had replied to her parents, the Duchess quickly dismissed her daughter, allowing her to go to her room and shower.

To which Melissa gratefully accepted, she wasn't in the mood to deal with her parents.

Lady Melissa had found it preposterous that her father had prioritized her reputation first rather than her life.

It had angered her a lot, and Lady Melissa had managed to find out about it through Justin's memories of the incident.

Melissa might have or might have not peeked at Justin's memories using some magic that might or might have not hurt her brain.

Justin was telling the truth though, about the whole incident, he hadn't lied to Melissa about a single thing so far.

Justin had only missed out on a couple of details, probably thinking that Lady Melissa would feel hurt when she found out about it, hence why he didn't tell her about it.

It was probably a way of shielding her, and protecting her, or maybe because he was at risk of his job getting fired if the Duke found out Justin had ever told his daughter.

Melissa wasn't the type to get emotional about these types of things but it was her life, and he had prioritized her reputation over her own life.

What kind of reputation was there to prioritize when there was a dead girl?

Nobody would care about a dead girl, so she didn't see the need of prioritizing her reputation over her life.

Though Lady Melissa was less angry at her mother compared to her father since her mother had stopped the Duke, or at the very least, tried to stop the Duke.

Still, Melissa was also mad at the Duchess since she didn't directly argue with the Duke.

Lady Melissa didn't even know whether the Duchess had intentionally stopped the Duke from doing such a thing or it was unintentional.

What if her mother had done it so as not to cause a scene? If they caused a scene, or more specifically, if the Duke caused a scene then people would be curious and try to find out what was happening.

Melissa didn't know what the reason was for her mother to stop the Duke, but she was still thankful for her mother regardless.

Melissa walked to her room, as she wondered what else she needed to prepare for, before remembering about the hunting event.

The hunting event was six days after this, as it would be on a Friday, the same day as her parent's anniversary.

Melissa decided that she needed to plan a meeting with Duke Gaston if her plan hadn't worked out with Duke Alphonso, Duke Gaston would be her backup.

Lady Melissa quickly wrote a letter down to Duke Gaston, planning for Justin to deliver it to Duke Gaston himself, not wanting him to deliver it to one of his 'assistants' or 'employees' since one could never be too careful, especially with the recent events that had been happening.

Melissa finished writing the letter, putting it into an envelope, before she sealed it.
