Lady Melissa used her sword to try and hit Duchess Ella's shoulder, though it was to no use as Duchess Ella used her sword to avoid getting hit in her shoulder, not even wanting the chance of getting hit by it and bleeding.

Duchess Ella didn't want to lose to her student, even if the student was her favourite one.

Not only did Duchess Ella have an unfair advantage compared to Lady Melissa because of her age and experience, but her sword was also shinier and sharper than Lady Melissa's.

Unfortunately for Lady Melissa, she hadn't asked someone to shine her sword the other day, as it had completely slipped her mind with the number of things filling up her mind every day.

Hence, if Duchess Ella had hit Lady Melissa's shoulder, arms or even legs, it would be much easier for her to get blood than it would be for Lady Melissa since her sword was less sharp than Duchess Ella's.

But, maybe a miracle would happen.

And so did it, or maybe it wasn't a miracle, since Lady Melissa had won because of her sheer determination, and pure luck (mostly pure luck though.)

Lady Melissa had used her sword to try and hit Duchess Ella's shoulder, as Lady Melissa expected, it had failed, and whilst Duchess Ella was preoccupied with dodging it, Lady Melissa used her right foot to kick the Duchess' right foot, in the knees as she suddenly fell, being caught off-guard.

The moment that Duchess Ella fell down, she had scraped herself under the very rocky and hard ground, and so, Lady Melissa had won the duel, although it was purely by coincidence and luck.

If only Duchess Ella had been using her hands as a cushion, then maybe this wouldn't have happened, though she'd never know.

"I win."

Lady Melissa proudly said, a smirk on her lips as she stared down at her teacher that was looking up at her.

"Fine, what favour do you want?"

Duchess Ella grumpily said, feeling a bit angry at herself that she had lost to her student, whilst at the same time feeling proud of Lady Melissa at the fact that she had managed to win a duel against her.

Although Lady Melissa thought that it was merely out of coincidence and pure luck, the Duchess didn't think so. Yes, the part of her feet getting scraped and the blood coming out of her knees were coincidental, but the attack that Lady Melissa had prepared for her was completely intentional.

It might have seemed like nothing to Lady Melissa, but Duchess Ella knew it was something more than that, the way how she had skillfully managed to catch her off-guard and suddenly attack her feet was smart of her.

Though Duchess Ella would never compliment her on it since she was the definition of tough love.

"I'll tell you the favour later on, but for now keep it in your head that you owe me a favour will you teach?"

Lady Melissa said as she gave Duchess Ella a grin.

"Fine."

Duchess Ella sighed, as she gave a tired smile to Lady Melissa.

"Beginner's luck."

Duchess Ella said, as she came and stood beside Lady Melissa.

"Haha, very funny."

Lady Melissa sarcastically responded to Duchess Ella's poor attempt at a joke.

"I should've made the rules clearer next time, I sure regret not doing so now."

Duchess Ella said to Lady Melissa who stared at her, scoffing.

"Don't worry Duchess Ella, even if you change the rules, I'll still be the winner at the end of the day."

Lady Melissa said as she stared at the Duchess, confident that she'd win.

Lady Melissa had learned a number of tricks these past few days, and she was more than delighted to showcase them to her teacher, wondering how her teacher would react.

Would she be surprised? Impressed? Amazed? Or disappointed? There was only one way of finding out and that was on their next duel.

"I guess we'll just sit down on the bench until the end of the lesson, you don't look like a good student."

Duchess Ella said, as she approached the bench and took a seat whilst Lady Melissa sat beside her, tired of standing after a few minutes of doing so since she had lost a good amount of stamina.

"I can say the same thing to you, teacher."

Lady Melissa said, shooting back at Duchess Ella.

"Oh please, I have much more stamina than you."

Duchess Ella said as she shot Lady Melissa a look.

"Mhm."

Lady Melissa replied, unconvinced with the Duchess' poor excuse of an answer, though she didn't reply with anything else.

"You're attending the hunting event later on right Duchess Ella?"

Lady Melissa asked, suddenly remembering about the hunting event that was going to be hosted this afternoon and was going to last till dark.

"I guess you'll just have to find out later on."

Duchess Ella cheekily said, giving Lady Melissa a wink.

"I'll ask the Duke to fire you later."

Lady Melissa said, giving Duchess Ella a smile, and the Duchess had a bit of a hard time figuring out whether Lady Melissa was truly joking or not- before deciding that she was joking because of the laugh that would follow her smile soon after.

Duchess Ella then realized something as she furrowed her eyebrows for a few seconds, wondering why Lady Melissa had addressed her father as the Duke.

Other Ladies would address their father as daddy, dad, father or even papa, it was the first time for Duchess Ella to hear someone address their father as their title, and she felt as if something was odd; that something wasn't right.

Lady Melissa immediately noticed her little mishap, she had accidentally addressed her father as the Duke instead of papa, though it was too late to correct herself, instead she changed the topic, hoping that by doing so the Duchess would forget about her little mishap as Lady Melissa continued to talk with Duchess Ella for half an hour on a number of topics.
