"When I tried to open the door, even with all of my strength, it still wouldn't budge even a bit."

Clara said as Lady Melissa listened closely, had she perhaps chanted the wrong spell? Or was Duke Gaston the one who had perhaps done this.

Even though Lady Melissa had locked her door, she knew that even the lock wouldn't be able to handle one of her bodyguards, they were all individually fit and talented, so it didn't make sense how Clara wasn't able to enter.

Lady Melissa decided that she'd look closely at the incident later on- but in the meantime, she'd let Clara slide if this wasn't truly her fault.

"Fine, you're lucky I'm in a good mood."

Lady Melissa blankly stated as she went to her desk, wondering what her schedule was for this week, Sophia was the one who usually prepared her schedule since Lady Melissa was too busy to do it herself.

Lady Melissa opened her drawer and took out the paper that was filled with Lady Melissa's schedule for the week.

On Thursday she was free- at least the schedule said she was free, she decided that she'd just say she'll go to the capital and bribe her driver once more- and then she'll end up going to the hunter's lake.

On Friday she was going to be visiting the royal palace unannounced if she still hadn't gotten a reply from them, she didn't have all the time in the world to wait for a letter from them.

Besides, the royal family wouldn't be able to lay a hand on her with all the support the Shayla family had from other nobles.

And the Shayla family had more support from the founding families than the royal family, although it wasn't explicitly shown, it was more than obvious who most of the founding family members would rather have as their King and Queen.

On Saturday, Lady Melissa was planning to meet Lady Jean, ever since the tea party the both of them had maintained close contact with each other, sending letters to each other every week.

Lady Melissa was updated on Lady Jean's life and vice versa- though of course, Lady Melissa made sure to leave out things that would be dangerous if word was leaked.

She trusted Lady Jean, but she wasn't ready to risk it by telling her, at least not yet.

Lady Jean was a woman who was as fearless and merciless as her, something that Lady Melissa found amazing as she finally met someone who was as competitive as her.

Lady Melissa was going to go to the Jean estate on Saturday and visit Lady Jean, from around 10 A.M. until 5.00 P.M.

Lady Melissa had a lot she wanted to talk to Lady Jean, and so did Lady Jean had a lot to talk to Lady Melissa.

Besides, Lady Melissa was sure she'd be able to learn some of the information that was confidential through Lady Jean, she had a lot of connections as well with Lady Melissa, perhaps even more than Lady Melissa with how cunning she was.

It was one of the main reasons why Lady Melissa had decided it would be beneficial for her to approach Lady Jean and become her friend- along with the fact that Lady Jean had stood up for Lady Melissa whilst practically no one else did so.

Lady Jean was sly, as well as cunning, and Lady Melissa knew that she would be a great ally to have, especially for the future.

Lady Melissa had been sending letters back and forth to Lady Whistletown as well, and the two of them would often talk about the recent gossip and say their opinions to each other, sometimes agreeing and sometimes disagreeing with each other.

Lady Melissa knew better than to disagree with a stance that Lady Whistletown strongly supported, unless it was something Lady Melissa absolutely despised such as rape or human trafficking.

Lady Melissa was taking all the safety measures needed to make Lady Whistletown like her more- and so far her safety measures and precautions were all working, and Lady Whistletown had invited Lady Melissa to a tea party that she was going to be hosting the next few weeks, filled with a few of her other friends.

On Sunday, Lady Melissa was going to be spending all her time on Camilia and whatever she had gathered about the woman, and try to connect the dots together with each other.

Sunday was also a day for Lady Melissa to relax, even though she was sure she'd still be stressed since she had to think about Camilia and everything that Camilia had done to her, in real life and in her dreams as well.

Lady Melissa would have less stress though on Sundays since she wouldn't be going out, at least not that much, Sunday was also a day of no social interaction for her, excluding the fact that she was still going to be interacting with the maids and servants, along with her bodyguards.

Other than that though Lady Melissa didn't have to interact with any annoying people, after all, even though as a noble she was supposed to love parties, gatherings and any social event of the sort she was tired of them.

The number of people she had to interact with during balls and parties were surreal, although admittedly Lady Melissa did love the attention most of the time.

As much as Lady Melissa loved the attention on her though she needed a day to recharge and just interact with nobody, and have some alone time herself, other than the fact that her bodyguards were going to be with her whilst she was having her alone time.

Lady Melissa preferred tea parties to balls since they were usually smaller and she'd be able to learn more about the other nobles, though balls did have their own advantages, she would be able to showcase herself to the world and enchant them with her skills, and beauty as well as elegance like she had done in Duchess Victoria's ball.
