Lady Melissa asked, looking up from the numerous piles of paperwork on her desk as she stared at Duke Alphonso, as she let out a sigh, knowing that she was going to spend all night finishing paperwork, she was already half regretting the decision of saying yes to Duke Alphonso, though for the meantime she decided that she'd just enjoy the time she had with him, at least for now.
"I'm sure you already know the answer to that question, though I guess I can explain it to you. I hid my presence from everyone in the Shayla estate, and I only revealed it once I was in your room."
Duke Alphonso said, a bright smile on his face as Lady Melissa rolled her eyes at him, an action which caused Duke Alphonso to let out a little chuckle.
"I already know that much, you mind specifying what you did exactly to get in?"
Lady Melissa asked as Duke Alphonso was the one who this time let out a sigh, before explaining to Lady Melissa that he just sneaked in though admittedly he did jump through a lot of heights.
Lady Melissa didn't expect Duke Alphonso to be able to jump that high, since he was the least tallest out of the three men which consisted of Duke Gaston, Duke Mason as well as Duke Alphonso.
Lady Melissa let out a sigh, as she stood up from her desk, making her way to the opposite side of the couch that Duke Alphonso was sitting on, as he stared at her figure that slowly approached him.
"Pray tell why you came here, I'm sure that you didn't only come here to just talk about why I had a contract with the King, you were so desperate to ask me so you would be able to use the information to your knowledge right? I wonder what the reason you would use the information would be for."
Lady Melissa asked, as she sat on the couch, opposite from him as she could see the corners of Duke Alphonso's mouth slowly tilting upwards, as they soon turned into a sly smirk, as she had finally figured out what he had meant.
She already had her theory that he was doing that ever since he had come, after all, Duke Alphonso wasn't the type of man who would so far go to someone's house, unexpected, just to ask them a question, he had far more...devious methods to make a person talk, ones which Lady Melissa wouldn't prefer going through, though she knew that he wouldn't use them on her, he may bluff but she knew, that he wouldn't ever use those devious methods on her.
"I'm not sure what you're talking about Lady Melissa, are you perhaps starting to hallucinate?"
Duke Alphonso said, as Lady Melissa felt that he was mocking her, which he was in fact doing, as he used a sarcastic tone on her, which Lady Melissa resisted the urge to roll her eyes at- he was annoying, but he was also interesting enough for her not to kick him out.
"I believe if anything, that you're the one starting to hallucinate, perhaps you have finally gone crazy? After all, out of the two of us, who is the one who had even sneaked into the other person's house unannounced and hid their presence from everyone in the estate?"
Lady Melissa asked as she shook her head, mocking him.
"I'll admit, it was definitely my fault for sneaking into your house unannounced, but it's only a one-time thing, trust me."
Duke Alphonso said as Lady Melissa scoffed, mumbling under her breath "It wouldn't be the first time I heard that."
Lady Melissa mumbled under her breath, as Duke Alphonso was evidently confused by what she meant- though he didn't ask her any questions, instead they entirely skipped the topic.
Lady Melissa felt as if she was starting to become a babysitter of sorts, or an entertainer for the three men that would go to her house, though admittedly, it did cure her boredom.
"Anyways, don't you need to go back now? It's already 7 PM. Are you planning to get fired?"
Lady Melissa asked as Duke Alphonso's face turned into a smile, almost as if he was touched by something.
"Aww, are you afraid that I'll get fired? Don't worry though, I've got it all figured out, I can stay here with you for the whole night if you want to."
Duke Alphonso said, flirting with Lady Melissa as he gave her a wink, a suggestive smile soon following it.
Lady Melissa was trying her hardest to contain herself- as her ears blushed a bright red, which led Duke Alphonso to chuckle at, a smile on his face, as he leaned in closer to use his hands to tuck her hair behind her ears.
Lady Melissa looked up, a little shock at the touch of his fingers on her ear- as the both of them shared a few stares before Duke Alphonso looked away.
'Cute.'
Lady Melissa thought, a warm smile making her way to her face- Duke Alphonso wasn't that shy of a person then so she had thought, if anything perhaps she best be more wary of him, seeing the moves he had tried to pull on her.
"Do you want any refreshments? I can call one of the maids for tea since you look pretty thirsty."
Lady Melissa asked as Duke Alphonso nodded his head- thankful for the offer, as he was starting to get thirsty considering the number of words he had spoken throughout the hours that they had shared together, his throat starting to get drier by the minute.
Lady Melissa, seeing how Duke Alphonso seemed thirsty, decided to order one of the maids for some chamomile tea or more specifically, ordered Justin to tell one of the maids to brew some chamomile tea.
Lady Melissa asked for one cup since she luckily still had her cup from earlier on in the day on her desk.
