Chapter 12: A Cute Lizard

Allen opened his eyes, emerging from the fridge of this building, the discomfort caused by the white light dissipating. He found himself in his second shop, but the design was considerably simpler.

Unlike his shop in the Forgotten Star, which had a Sci-Fi vibe, this one resembled a hut. Primitive yet fitting the world's theme.

In this familiar setting, Allen's attention was drawn to the missing roof of the hut. With confusion on his face, he looked around, spotting numerous toadmen. Most had pale blue skin with red marks, and they were either naked or adorned in crude armor.

"Masterrr! Masterrrr has come!" A voice abruptly echoed in the air, carrying a comical toad-like sound.

Fortunately, the language barrier between Allen and the toad was nonexistent, thanks to the system. However, there were some languages that the system itself couldn't translate.

"Masterrrr!" A toad with slightly lighter blue skin and darker spots excitedly appeared in front of Allen. His way of walking was comical and amusing simultaneously.

Other toads also became excited as they saw Allen, but this specific toad named Krwarkr was the most loyal to him.

He excelled in the art of boot licking—cough cough, loyalty.

Twenty days ago, when Allen excitedly entered this world to quickly level up, he spawned around this area. While chasing a snow squirrel to kill and gain EXP, Allen accidentally stumbled upon this tribe.

Ever since then, Allen got free workmen and protectors for his weapon store. He also taught them about weapons.

"What's the matter, Mud?" Allen questioned as he looked at Krwakr, whose nickname was Mud, given by Allen.

"Those Frostzards are here to hunt us! They have killed some of our members already." He said in a worried tone but was also slightly relieved.

This great master, after all, was backing them. What was to fear when he was with them?

On the other hand, Allen slightly frowned as he looked at Mud. "But why? Resources?"

"No," Mud replied straightforwardly and offered Allen a wooden chair, which Allen accepted, sitting on it.

"Then?"

"We just wanted to eat some Frostzard meat." Allen, for a second, almost fell from his chair. For a moment, he forgot how unreasonable these toadmen were.

Was their brain filled with dunk? Regaining his composure, Allen forced out a smile as he looked at Mud.

"You people sure enjoy jumping in deep shit."

He did not wait for Mud's reply as Allen stood up. "Take the weapons I gave you. Today we'll show them what it means to be respected and feared."

This world was unlike the Forgotten Star. Here existed weak monsters; no one in this world could reach level 6.

Though Allen wasn't the one to speak, as he was merely level 2, he possessed high-tech advanced weapons with many tricks.

And with these Toadmen, his chances of winning were more. Walking towards the door, he pushed it, revealing what lay behind.

A scene out of fantasy... the best way to describe what lay behind the door unfolded. Countless gigantic birds, twice the size of an average human, with white feathers similar to a sparrow, could be seen waving their wings. On each of these birds were outlines of creatures resembling lizard men or kobolds, not visible properly. These were actually natives of this world called Frostzards.

In the middle was a strong-looking wyvern with azure fish-like scales on its body. Those fish-like scales made the wyvern look beautiful, and under the glimmer of the sunlight, it appeared elegant.

They were one of the dominant species among the small civilization formed around The Ice-Gate mountains. They were a group of prideful lizards who lived on the mountain itself, trying to assert their supremacy in this small area.

They enslaved races weaker than them, forcing them to work under the Frostzards' dominance. In this cutthroat universe, an absolute law prevailed: Survival of the Fittest.

As Allen gazed at the wyvern in mid-air, a subtle smirk appeared on his face. "A boss monster? Another day, another problem. Sigh, if this didn't occur, life would be just a work of fiction."

Name: Flashy Shoes
Level: 3
Type: Rare
Ability: Rare ability, Flash step.

->Can teleport within a radius of 5 meters. Consumption: 0.3 MP

Quietly, Allen swapped his shoes for a new pair, sensing that a formidable battle awaited him, just as he expected.

In the next moment, the silhouette of a Frostzard leaped from the wyvern's back, causing a stir as the bulky figure, twice the size of Allen with muscular arms and legs, landed on the snowy ground.

"A hidden boss?"

"General Ruok! General Ruok!" All the other Frostzards cheered, looking at this so-called Ruok. The remaining Frostzards dismounted, creating quite a commotion.

"So, you're the monkey that's been causing problems for our tribe? Hehehe, it's been a long time since I tasted new meat. Perfect time to extinguish my cravings," Frostzard Ruok chuckled, exhaling frosty breath from its mouth.

"You puny little creature! Surrender!"

"Ha, you weaklings! Frogs taking aid of a monkey!"

However, Allen remained unfazed, staring right into their eyes. As a low frosty breath escaped from his mouth, he spoke, simultaneously activating his skill - Elevated Speech.

"Were you the one who did that to my shop?"

"Shop? You call that a shop! Kakakakak! That's worse than the shit hole we Frostzards use! Kowtow before me, and I might make it quick. It'll be an honor for you to be killed by a great lizard like me!" The Frostzard said in an arrogant tone. Although Allen appeared unaffected outwardly, inwardly he couldn't help but cringe.

Ever wondered how a young master looks? Well, a live one is right in front, just a little scaly.

"Well, I respect you, great lizard. However, is it right for a mighty warrior like you to lead an army of other lizards, all for a measly sum like me and a few other toads?" With the brightest smile on his face, Allen spoke with a hint of mockery.

The subtle mockery, combined with his skill, was more than enough to provoke a young master reaction from the Frostzard Ruok.

"I used to think that the great Frostzards were akin to the bravest warriors. Today, I have seen their true face," Allen remarked, shaking his head slightly. This angered Frostzard Ruok, who clenched his claw in response.

The other toadmen remained hidden in the broken hut, watching their master with shining eyes. Although they couldn't hear the conversation between Allen and the Frostzard, they held high expectations, envisioning him as a legendary creature.

Meanwhile, Frostzard exclaimed in a loud voice, "Come on, you bloody monkey! Only I'll be the one to battle you, I swear in the name of our great deity, Ranka! If I lose the battle, then my fellow brothers will retreat!"

"Deal!"

All the Frostzards fell silent upon hearing this. During the past twenty days, Allen, unable to leave the hut, had meticulously gathered knowledge about the surrounding area. He knew his agendas would clash with the Frostzards, and consequently, he had studied them extensively. These were prideful creatures willing to go to any extent for their pride.

Observing the ragged breathing of Frostzard, caused by just a few words, corners of Allen's lips curled up. It was a genuine smile. He couldn't help but think,

'This lizard is a bit cute.'
