Chapter 22: Heavenly Immortal Venerable

"Khhg...khhh!" A strange sound emanated from the Blood Slave's mouth as the wrinkled arm choked him. Unable to speak properly, the Slave managed to squeeze out a few noises.

Noticing this, Luros, without any care in his eyes, said monotonously, "Attack."

In this era where guns weren't useful against monsters, primitive weapons made of precious materials saw a rise in their reputation.

But from a viewpoint, swinging a sword rather than using a high-powered gun did seem stupid, unless one's physical strength and speed were at the pinnacle, faster than a bullet and stronger than a tank.

Thus, abilities gained by breaking chains were still considered one of the best tools against monsters.

Red sparks erupted as crimson blood gushed forth. These Blood Slaves were akin to puppets, forced to follow every single order of their master. They did not possess their own will, no resistance; their consciousness was absolutely messed up.

The bright scarlet light radiated from the sparks filled the room. The Blood Slave being choked by the wrinkled arm did not have any light of life in his eyes as his body was impaled by multiple abilities.

This figure had no memory of his past or present, did not have any free will. All he knew was to follow the orders of his master.

"I have to die if it's the orders of my master... Nothing matters other than his words... But... Why?"

As another strong attack landed on the left side of his shoulder, this question came to his mind. Unfortunately, it was already too late.

"Why? Why? Why?"

His monotonous expression finally changed.

"Mother..."

His head suddenly burst into a million pieces. His right eye ball, which managed to stay intact, fell on the ground. The brown pupil, for the last time, moved, as the light of life flashed through it. Quite the irony; life flashed through his eye when death was already in front of him.

"Mother... Forgive me..."

This was when he felt a warm embrace. An embrace that seemed to wash every guilt in his soul, bringing peace to his fading consciousness. An embrace that was very familiar.

Death wasn't as cold as one would expect it to be. It was warm, very comfortable, something that kept the soul at peace.

Life was filled with hardship; death was the final destination where one could be at peace.

Even after the Slave's body was completely demolished, the Blood Slaves did not care, aiming for the wrinkled arm. Amid the red sparks, this arm appeared to have disappeared.

Before it could be pinpointed, the arm shot out in the air, near a slave. The fingers on the hand aligned together, forming a slashing movement, slicing the slave's neck.

In that slave's point of view, blood splattered as the world started spinning. With a thud, his head fell as he looked at his own body, spewing a fountain of blood.

His eyes slowly closed...

...

"Heheh, interesting. Indeed, following these bunch of monkeys was worth it," the grey-furred monkey commented as he looked at the Blood Slaves getting slaughtered by a hand.

The wrinkled hand was using its five fingers as its legs, moving like a spider. Extremely fast, it was so quick that until now, no one managed to catch this arm.

Once again, the arm shot out in the air, swiftly killing another Blood Slave. Blood splattered as dead bodies piled up.

A few more minutes passed by. Though it took some time, the mad researcher Luros managed to grab the arm. A few blood-red chains appeared from thin air, binding the arm.

After sealing this arm properly by using his abilities, he whipped out a suitcase and stored the wrinkled arm in it. A few more chains were used to bind the suitcase.

"Go, check this cathedral properly!" Luros ordered. The Blood Slaves acted according to his orders, searching throughout the Cathedral.

The result was disappointing; they did not manage to find anything valuable. But Luros was sure something was hidden here.

A frown appeared on his face. He could clearly sense a lot of cursed energy accumulated in this single place. But he was sure this place would be dangerous, possibly reaping his life.

"These Blood Servants. Haa, they'll be completely useless if I leave them here. I should contact the Union first."

With this thought in his mind, he looked at the Blood Servants. "Return."

Following his orders, the servants walked towards the blood pool. They slowly sank in it, after which Luros removed another flask filled with blue liquid. Unsealing it, he poured the blue liquid. The pool started boiling, and soon within a few seconds evaporated.

His grip over the white suitcase intensified as he dashed out of the Cathedral in a hurry.

The grey-furred monkey observed all of this, continuing to eat the apple-like fruit.

"Hmp, they couldn't sense other coffins." After finishing the fruit, he jumped, landing on the ground. Abruptly, demonic energy spread from his body. He could clearly sense coffins present underground.

He raised his hand and pointed towards.

Boom!

A loud sound echoed as something similar to a blast appeared on the ground. That particular portion of the floor was destroyed, revealing a coffin within.

Few more blasts occurred around different parts of the floor, exposing the coffins that lay inside them. In total, four coffins were revealed.

The next second, he twisted his arm, making an upward gesture. He possessed an ability similar to telekinesis. His strength was comparable to those humans present at Tier 7 of chain breakers.

But then, a frown appeared on his face. Slowly, veins started popping up in his arms as he applied more strength to his skill. Veins popped all over his body, and sweat slowly appeared on his skin.

"Damn it!" Gritting his teeth, he finally gave up. This monkey wasn't any fool; he knew that this was his limit. Anything beyond that, and it would just be a waste of his time.

Instead, he shifted the pressure to the lids of the coffins. After a few tries, he successfully managed to move them slightly.

'This presence!' His eyes widened. His heart palpitated as he realized something.

'This... This is the residence of our lord?!' The Monkey Demon, one of the strongest members of the Heavenly Demon Sect, that day realized this playful following of his had actually led him to a dangerous place.

Heavenly Immortal Venerable, the Demonic Ancestor, The First Demon to ever exist—this was his lord. The Progenitor of Darkness.

His heart started beating faster. Was this really the residence of the Demon God?!

His eyes widened even further as the wrinkled arm shot out of one of the coffins. From the second and third coffins, two more wrinkled legs shot out. From the last and final coffin, two blue dried eyes shot out.

The priest's statue, which was constructed on one of the sides, suddenly radiated a weird energy. Cracks appeared on the statue.

Drip! Drip!

Blood! Black blood seeped out of the cracks. At that second, the stiff expression of the Priest changed; his lips curled up into a smile as the edge of his lips started bleeding.

The disaster had returned to this world!
