This S.O.B. System - Chapter 121

The rest of the Trial ended pretty smoothly. Asher and his team didn’t see any of their opponents the next day, but the Lawful Good Team was still at the top of the Contribution Board. With no one else there they fought the Death Mana cats easily enough. After going up against a 2 and 3 asterisk boss they felt easy. 

The following day Prillish stopped by for a little bit. Apparently Asher was right, it was a trap. 3 of her party members were killed by a Destruction Mana shadow as they tried to escape with a key. Abbedeel the psychic, Azhonymus the warrior, and Kerek the monk. Ezarian left it for everyone to decide, and after Asher left all the clones made a run for it. The 3 demons joined them. All of the clones were killed except Alfa, the arm with his spatial ring was cut off, so he didn’t escape with the key either. 

With fewer people on their team Prillish decided to stick around the demon camp. She didn’t repeat their nightly fun anymore, not that he could blame her. Now that his team was for sure going to win, he didn’t know what would become of her. For so long he worried about losing his life and being unable to help Earth. What would become of the demons now that they lost? He saw them as people now, and he didn’t want them to have to go through the pain and anguish he saw in the Roktai Trial. 

Asher became a little depressed after the Halls. Whether it was from the games played by the System, or that he was sick of fearing for a double cross, he didn’t know. He spent his days killing monsters and lounging with Atty and Tiff. They got some great XP, and were doing well. The demons didn’t try to attack anymore bosses, so it was left to Asher and his team to fight the Fusion Chimera and Space worms. On day 30 he was more than happy to be zapped out of there. As his view turned white the pop-ups appeared. 

The 2 items appeared in Asher’s hand. He cast Identification. 

Asher put it on and gave the 2% to Lyola from his Experience Share Screen. Now Tiff, Zora, and Lyola were receiving 3%. 

Asher almost threw the book. He spent so long looking for a Sex Skill Book, and this was what he got. A sickened expression on his face he put the book in his ring. Perhaps to burn or maybe curse some enemy of his far down the line. Nothing else to do in the blankness of the white space he brought up his status screen. 

At level 47 he got another sex skill. They had played with it a little, but everyone had become tired of fighting and though they had sex everyday, Xare had become gloomy after the demons and clones were killed by the mysterious Destruction Boss.

This allowed him to make the girls feel pleasure wherever he touched. Still low level he hadn’t used it as much as he normally would. There was this dark cloud over his mind in the last few days, and he simply couldn’t get out of the funk. 

Finally the white faded and they were back on Elantontrin. They were again met by a sitting Tosh on the platform. He was engrossed in yet another book.

“Tosh!” Keera yelled running up to him. He noticed her at the last second and opened his arms. 

“My goddess, look at you. You really did surpass me in levels,” Tosh said to her. 

“Yep, you’re gonna have to catch up now,” she said smiling from his chest. Normally Tiff would be ecstatic to see such an open display of affection. He looked over to her, but she had a frown on her face. Asher put his arm on her shoulder and drew her close. He couldn’t let his bad mood affect her. Doing his best to put on a happy face he looked to Tosh. 

“We won,” Asher said. The dark girl and elf finally remembered they weren’t alone. They stopped whispering to one another and stepped apart. 

“Yes, I see. Very well done,” Tosh said. “You’ve all done this before. Let’s get to it.” They followed him inside. 

“Did we miss much?” Asher asked. 

“No, again, nothing much happens here,” Tosh said. “It only gets loud when you’re around. Many people were disappointed you didn’t try to fight the Destruction Boss. Some had bets you would try it just before leaving. I see you didn’t.” 

“Didn’t seem worth it,” Asher admitted. “The clones and some demons died for a million experience. We made more than that in the days after we tried the Hall of Division.” 

“Yes, it very much was a trap,” Tosh agreed. “We don’t see levels, but from the vids people speculated it was a level 80 worthy boss. Probably level 50 with over 5 asterisks. Those that tried for the keys were killed instantaneously.” 

“I assumed as much. The System wanted us to see the carrot, not the stick. It was all about Greed.” 

“What makes you say that?” His mother asked. 

“It was the theme,” Asher said. “We were all supposed to get keys, then fight over them. That way you could take on the Hall of Collaboration by yourself. Then you would have to fight the other teams while worrying about fighting bosses. We worked together, but in the end the System made it so people couldn’t say no.” 

“Some good news out of this, you received a lot of sponsor offers,” Tosh said. They were now in the elevator platform going up. 

“Anyone interesting?” Asher asked. 

“Mostly no names,” Tosh admitted. “The best is the Aartilliak Empire they-”

“Not them!” Atalanta warned loudly, drawing some eyes. She gave him a look and he slowly understood. They must be who sponsored him in her Roktai Trial. The ones who double crossed and killed him for the Burills.

“Aren’t they the huge conglomerate Tyranis mentioned?” Nadir asked. 

“Yes, they aren’t beyond starting wars for rare materials,” Tosh said. 

“There goes that option,” Asher said. He gave Atty a pat on the head as they stepped in the Roktai throne room. 

“Ah good, we were expecting you,” Tyranis said as they stepped up. “Receive any new planets this time?” 

“No,” Asher said sadly. “Rewards were lackluster for once.” 

“Yes, I would imagine they would have increased if you beat the Destruction Boss. You still did well, and most likely made the right decision. Those other teams were blinded by rewards, and left with nothing,” Tyranis said. 

“I had worried the Roktai would see it as a weakness to skip a boss,” Asher admitted. 

“Knowing what is worth fighting for is strength in itself,” he said like some great sage. Asher nodded, he felt lucky to have the man as his father-in-law. 

“I know you would like to see the Chieftess Lyola, but how about we go through the Upgrade Orb process? I would like to get it out of the way,” Tyranis said. 

“Works for us,” Asher said. “I know we all want a few days off.” Grunts of agreement sounded from the others. 

They followed him to the room at the back and put their hands on the purple orb. Standing around it they watched as screens appeared one by one. 

The 4+ was from her new upgrade to her own Empower skill, Caligula. Now she received random stat increases to 2 of her Stats. The 5+ was from Asher’s Empower skill that increased strength and Endurance. She had practiced her Sharing is Caring skill, but still wouldn’t tell him the specifics. With his 3% experience she was also able to catch up on everyone’s levels. 

As their main healer Asher’s father had focused on that. Now that he had an increase in Life Mana the heals were on a whole other level. His new skill Mass Heal was a huge group one. Test of Faith increased healing power on a single target the lower health they were. During his fight with the Havoc Boss it had been a big help. The Havoc beams hit hard. 

Holy Consecration was an evolution to her skill that did holy damage to targets and heals to group/raid members. Sacrifice allowed her to do damage to foes based on how much she was hurting, but she hadn’t used it much. 

He had been able to do a lot of fighting over the last few days to close the gap with everyone. His Death Mana had been a great attack, but the Shadow of Death was the real kicker. It allowed a huge shadow to be cast underneath him, and Death Mana would leak out to everyone in the shadow. It was an amazing AOE attack. His System granted skills were already being influenced by his new Death Mana. Asher was curious where it would lead. 

WTF! Asher thought as he noticed her newest skill. He didn’t know she got the staple DBZ attack, kamehameha. He would have to interrogate her about it later. She had been all over the place with her Flight skill, so they hadn’t talked much lately. 

Asher didn’t know she got a Clone skill. He could picture it since Agent Anderson was able to do it in the Matrix. He would have to work with it later. He moved to the next before his thoughts strayed to having sex with her and her clone at the same time. 

Vincent had been excited to get the All materia. Teaching him about joining All with his elemental Mana made the attacks great for AOE. His Limit Break had increased as well to allow Climhazzard. 

She too had received a new skill based on her new Mana, Dragon Palm. Unsure why the Dragon skill said mana and the other elements didn’t he would try to dig into that later. 

His Illusion Manifestation had gotten much better. The manifested pieces were able to stay for almost an hour now. Asher wasn’t quite sure what Body Double or Perfect Form did, so he would ask later. 

Keera had gotten much stronger. Once the weakest, that was now left for Batman. With his Death Mana Asher’s money would still be on Batman in a fight. Her Stage Lights were like Abby’s Solarflare, or his mother’s Blinding Light. They could set the mood for some intimate moments or be used to do a light show. The Pin Drop skill was some sort of sound skill, Asher wasn’t too sure about it, but she had apparently used it a lot. 

Again his stuff was hidden. He did wish he could hide some of his skill names though. “What is Sex Bomb?” Tiff asked. “And why haven’t we tried it?”
