Asher began searching through every room. It took time to pry them open with no power or AI, but he eventually got them. He found plenty of food, storage accessories, some armor, and swords. There were a multitude of items he didn’t know how to use, but what he really needed right then were levels.

Climbing out of the hole in the bridge’s hull he studied the planet he was on. It resembled a jungle. Green and red leaves filled his view. Tall towering trees. There were 3 suns overhead that made the place a tropical climate.

He began to sweat as he descended down the elliptical curved top of the ship. When he was on the ground he wondered how they had crashed. They had said a Mana Surge, but he guessed they were attacked too. Unsure if he needed to worry about more aliens finding him he ran into the trees.

He quickly found his first monster. It was an 8 foot long lizard. Pulling Plarious’ sword from his new ring he faced it with a smile.

Asher almost lost his life again with the fight. He had been much weaker without his levels.Much frailer than he imagined. The lizard had bit into his side allowing Asher to stab into its eye. He leveled 8 times with the one kill. His HP shot up with the new levels. He focused on strength and endurance. But soon his HP began to drop again. Where he was bitten turned purple. Apparently the lizard had been venomous.

Asher got back to the ship before he passed out. He woke up some time later. Weak and laying in his own filth. It took a week for him to feel well enough to venture out again.

He was on the planet a month before he found his first dungeon. He entered without a thought and received a quest to destroy some monsters. They were easy, and for the first time in a while he received Sysco. No longer a Hero he was stuck with only a few Sysco reward. He began buying water to level up his System Store so he could get to the armor option.

It took him another 4 years to find enough dungeons to afford the armor he wanted. Without his Hero System his quest rewards were nothing compared to before. His hands shook as he pushed the button.

Whatever Tiberion had done to Asher’s System, hadn’t applied to his Custom Tab of the Store. He slowly put the armor on. Piece by piece he was covered from head to toe in the black metal. The helm squeezed together, meeting at a point. The top of the helm raised or the bottom lowered to allow him to eat from it. He didn’t plan to ever take it off.

He was now ready for his first real challenge in a while. He quickly learned he was on a Tier 2 planet. Most everything ranged from level 20 to 50. He had been able to survive early on by focusing on the lower levels. And slowly he had killed everything in the area.

Then he moved onto the next continent. Then swam across an ocean to get to the next zone to clear. He had found a continent so filled with monsters he had been close to death almost every day. Now he had his Berserker armor. Pain was no longer a concern. He had formulated his plan, and now it was time to put it into action.

Asher began slaughtering everything in his path. He plateaued at level 60. The place was no longer a challenge. Then he moved to more dungeons. Searching high and low he grew a nose for finding the black portals. The search took a year but he found a Tier III.

He was then at the bottom of the food chain again. Levels didn’t come quickly anymore. But his plan for revenge grew with every fight. The armor never left his skin.

—-

On the run from a gigantic stone colossus he noticed a dungeon portal and jumped in. He was on a new Tier III planet, he could tell by the smell in the air. There were no monsters to greet him on the new world. This time there was an actual building in front of him. Concrete exterior and broken glass windows. He began to look around. He had only been to 1 civilized planet besides Earth, but this building reminded him of one of the planets, and it wasn’t the one with elves.

When he noticed the broken down street lamp a tear shed from his eye. The design was too similar to that of Earth.

Asher pushed off the balls of his feet. He soared 200 feet in the air. Landing on the old decrepit building in front of him he saw skyscrapers leaning to the side. Other buildings collapsed. Not a soul in sight. A part of him was still happy to be home.

It took him 2 days to find someone. They were huddled alone in the basement of a house. He doubted they spoke English but it didn’t matter with his language skills.

“Who are you?” The young kid asked. Asher used Identification

Kenichi Mori

Uzumaki System

Level 49

“Doesn’t matter. Came out of a dungeon,” Asher spoke for the first time in years. His voice cracked with the sound.

“Another guy trapped in a dungeon,” the kid said sadly. “What do you want?”

Asher never took off his helm, he spoke from inside it. “I want to know what happened here,” he said.

“What didn’t happen?” The kid asked angrily. “Everything went great after Initialization. Guild conferences started showing real progress. Started mapping the new world. Electricity eventually came back up. We got internet back. We started building again. Then a few years ago the slavers started showing up. They destroyed our cities like they were nothing. A few at first then wave after wave of them. Then others started stealing our resources. They destroyed everything we built faster than we could put it up.” There were tears in his eyes as he spoke. His dirty hands wiped them away.

“I’m sorry,” Asher whispered. He should have been there. He should have listened to Tosh all those years ago. Alliances had been the furthest thing from his mind. Joon had been right, the universe was so much worse than he imagined. He now knew all he needed to.

“Which way is California?” He asked.

“A few thousand miles to the East,” the kid said. Asher nodded and walked out. Soon he was jumping into the sky. Running was too slow for his stats.

He had finally had the time to learn what his body was capable of over the years. Asher had never had true focus before, now his full strength came out with hardly a thought. Once he landed he jumped off the ground again. He noticed he was being followed. It wasn’t worth bothering with the straggler.

When he stopped to rest for an hour the kid landed close to him. They didn’t speak. Asher gave him some food and water and within an hour he was moving again. The kid followed.

It took him a week to reach his destination. After a long swim he found that California was still on the coast. He didn’t slow his pace as he searched for the Guild Hall. From the sky the old factory district was easy to notice.

The Guild Hall had seen better days, but it was still intact. The kid followed in behind him as Asher strolled in like he owned the place. The ghosts of his past tried to haunt him as he pictured Tiff and Zora at the reception desk.

His heart somehow hardened further. When they got to the cafeteria some people tried to stop him with spears but he knocked them away.

“Where is the Guild Master?!” His voice boomed.

“Shut up!” The curly haired girl said coming out of a side door. She studied him for a moment “What the fuck do you want?”

“I have come to see Wayne Tyler,” he said. He ignored the nostalgic feeling in his gut.

“He’s dead. Along with everyone else,” Amanda said without a bit of sadness in her voice. “Gone or kidnapped.”

Asher took off his helmet. He gritted his teeth to help ignore the pain that assailed him. “Then it’s time to get them back,” he said.

“So you’re alive,” Amanda noted. She leaned back in her chair sitting across from him at the desk.

“No, I died,” he corrected. His helmet was back on. “What happened to them?”

“Wayne and Anita married,” she said. “Had a son.”

“Just the bad stuff,” he said, gritting his teeth. He didn’t want to have his hopes dashed. “I can’t handle the good.”

She hesitated but nodded. “Wayne was killed. The others were enslaved. Joon went off looking for you. Said you couldn’t die. Zora was killed by raiders. Daphne too. The rest, scattered to the wind with Wayne gone. Either jumped through a portal or are hiding somewhere.” He nodded, absorbing it easily. “What happened?” She asked.

“It was a trap. Took my levels. My system. Killed everyone. Tortured me. I’ve been trapped on a planet ever since. Dungeon Portal jumped until I got here,” he said.

“For 10 years?” She asked. He thought it was longer. But he nodded. “Well we don’t have much here. What’s the plan?”

—-

Asher crushed the head of the slaver as he walked onto the ship. They were all low level to him. 50 was nothing to a 99. The others swarmed on the ship as he killed everyone. He was upset he didn’t get experience from any of them, but it felt good to massacre slavers.

They already had a full cargo hold of slaves. Asher let those who wanted go. The higher leveled ones stayed. The rebirth of Community was 50 strong.

One of those saved was an Engineer. It took them a week of practice to learn how to fly the ship. During that time Asher had collected 5 other ships. They were 800 strong by that point.

When they left the planet they headed straight into the sun. The Ether Drives kicked on allowing them to soar to their next destination.

Asher found the Seinsterf Pirate stronghold due to coordinates in the ship. The 6 good ships were filled with people ready to take some revenge.

Asher ordered the ship rammed into the mothership of the Pirates. The scumbags didn’t know what hit them as he stormed the place. The halls were too narrow to use his Dragon Slayer blade so he killed with the flick of a wrist or used Plarious’ sword. As the Pirates' levels grew higher he knew he was heading in the right direction.

His people had begun freeing slaves. The halls were filled with them. A few happy shouts rang out as some people recognized others. Asher only looked on who to kill next.

When he killed their Guild Master the man had put up a fight, but Asher was able to keep his trump card ready. Tiberion would be feeling it soon.

It took a week to sort through people. Some went home, most signed up. They were 10,000 strong as they went searching for another mother ship.

When they were 100,000 Asher felt they were ready. They had 8 motherships, each were 50 times as big as the Helion that had taken him off planet. He gave a speech from his helmet about the true enemies, and the people ate it up.

It only took 2 days to head to Elantontrin. It was only a week away within the Ether Current. Asher’s leg shook more and more. Tiny tears leaked out of his eyes, and a smile crept up his mouth. But these were all hidden under the black armor.

“We are here,” Kenichi said as the planet appeared. He was Asher’s lieutenant and had jumped in levels. His clones mixed with Wind and Light Mana made him the second strongest after Asher.

They had lost 5 of their motherships from the Roktai defenses near their Ether Current.“Are you sure about this?” Amanda asked again. She looked better than she did when he found her over a year ago.

He didn’t bother to respond. Asher walked up to the image of the planet. Zooming in he eventually found the city and palace. “Here,” he said. “The ships that are left drop fighters off at these platforms.” He pointed them out to the crew. They relayed the messages. His ship would land on the platform he fought his duel at.

—-

Asher kicked in the double doors. He dragged in the upper torso of Tyranis and dropped it so he could be seen. The once great elf hadn’t leveled once. Asher was almost disappointed in the fight. He bled from wounds all over his body, but still he felt sorry for the once mighty leader that died to a one-armed swordsman.

“I would like to know who has laid siege to my castle?” Tiberion asked from his throne. There were guards all round him. Asher’s leg buckled making him stumble, but he forced himself back up. Asher had put on a hiding accessory for just this moment.

Despite their distance away Asher gritted his teeth as he took off his helmet. His hair was long and greasy, his skin was pale from no sun, his beard covered the lower half of his face, but Tiberion still recognized him.

“The Hero has come once again?” He asked. “Let him through,” he stupidly ordered his guards. They parted as Asher walked forward, never slowing. “How long has it been? 10 years? I assumed you were dead,” he said. “Hadn’t given you another thought. But I can see you don’t feel the same way.”

“What level are you now, human?” Tiberion asked arrogantly as Asher stopped at the bottom step leading up to the throne.

“99,” he admitted.

“Wow, that must be a record,” he said. “You still have no chance against me, human. A level 99 is nothing compared to a level 100. What makes you think you can touch a 122?”

Asher put in his helm. “You fucking elves only see levels still,” he said. “I proved they don’t mean shit then, I’ll prove it again now.”

He willed Dragon Slayer away as he pulled out the dagger Plarious had used to cut off his arm and 3rd leg. It was all he needed for this. So many years of pain for this moment.

Asher blinked and Tiberion was in front of him. The elf’s hand extended with a blade in it. The blade punctured through Asher’s armor and chest. Out for revenge Asher began channeling his skill into his blade.

Asher stabbed his sword into Tiberion. The edge sank in a few inches then stopped, barely scratching him. “That’s it?” Tiberion asked with a laugh. He stabbed again straight into Asher’s last arm. The warrior let go of the blade.

Asher took a step back, but soon he was the one laughing as blood trickled down a new wound on Tiberion’s face. Then another appeared on his arm. Then another. The old elf took a step back as another wound appeared. He was soon doubled over.

“This armor allows me to ignore pain,” Asher said. “As a Warrior I channel Physical Mana. It took time, but I learned how to heal my wounds but keep the pain always in my body with mana. For over 5 years I have fought every day. I’ve taken countless wounds. Gladly. All in preparation to use Revenge.”

REVENGE (LVL MAX)

Accumulate damage and use it on your enemy.

“For over 5 years I stored my pain!” Asher yelled. “And I would have done another 100 to watch this,” he said. He crouched down leering as Tiberion thrashed. Wound after wound appeared. He was soon convulsing in a pool of his own blood. When he stopped twitching Asher willed Dragon Slayer to his hand. Raising it up high with 2 hands he sliced down. Severing Tiberion’s head from his body the blade sunk into the smooth metal flooring.

“All for you,” he said as tears poured down. He finally got revenge for Tiffany. Then it all went white.
