Chapter 122

I agree with the idea of traveling around the world with Schneizel, but there was one thing I was worried about.

I was worried that my training would be slackened.

The reason I have become so strong in such a short period of time is that I have been working on things from the bottom up.

I know the experience of traveling around the world is important, but I don't think I can become as strong as I was there.

I asked him about it, but the answer I got was more than I could have imagined.

'It's no problem. You can say that because you don't know the battlefield. Well, leave that part to me."

Apparently, there was no problem from Schneizel's perspective.

If a hero who has been famous on the battlefield for more than a few years says so, he must be right.

I decided to trust him.

After my visit to the battlefield was confirmed, I spent my days preparing for my departure.

I checked my training, improved my spear and magic skills as much as possible before departure, and read basic tactical books.

I was in perfect shape. I think I've prepared for everything I can do right now. All that remained was to demonstrate it on the battlefield, but before I could do that, there was one problem that remained to be resolved.

 ---Misha.

The girl who wanted me to live of average a kid.

How do I explain to her that I would always have a place to go back to?

I didn't know, I felt awkward and apologetic, so I avoided dialogue.

But she seemed to have already realized what was going on, whether she was aware that I had prepared so much without telling her, or whether she had gotten the information about my future from somewhere.

One night. I had finished all my plans for the day and was just going to bed to get some sleep when Misha called out to me softly, "Nor.

"Nor."

"Yes?"

'I heard that you are leaving for the battlefield in a little over a month."

Misha was in the same bed, lying down and hugging me from behind.

The state of the bed, the tone of the voice, nothing has changed from the usual. Misha hit the crux of the matter with the kindness of a casual conversation in everyday life.

"Did you know?"

"I've been aware of it all along."

". I'm sorry I didn't tell you."

When I apologized, Misha giggled behind my back.

" You were too embarrassed to tell me, weren't you?"

'Well, yes.'

'I'm like a little child, aren't I? You are like a little child, aren't you?"

'No, that's just a quirk."

'If people around you treat you as an adult, I will spoil you for it, and I will forgive you if you make any mistakes. You said that before."

I remember that she said something similar to that.

But I am sorry. I knew I should have told Misha sooner.

"It's okay. I see that you like me."

'Huh?"

"If you really don't care about me, why even bother?"

'aThat may be true."

'But you have to tell me properly next time, and not just about you . It's okay that it was me this time, but you can make someone else sad by not telling them."

"I understand."

"Then, I'll go with you."

"Huh"

To the battlefield? What is this person talking about?

I know because we've been spending all this time together, but Misha's skill in recovery magic is top-notch, while he is completely unprepared for anything else.

"I'm certain that she will need to take care of herself and other things. I'll talk to Schneizel-sama tomorrow."

"Huh?

It's no use trying to stop me."

She hugged me a little tighter, and I was too embarrassed, too happy, and too worried that it might be dangerous to say anything else.

️.

Later, it was decided that Misha would be leaving with me, and after a while, the day of departure arrived.

"I'm going to go now. There's going to be a deputy from the other side of the family, but I want you to take care of the house and the girls while I'm gone."

'Leave it to me."

Schneizel asks for a tremendously important job in a light tone of voice, and Vasel accepts and thanks him. The duke was not swayed by the request, as he was Schneizel's second-in-command.

"Are you sure you want to go?

". I'm sorry, Saras, but I can't help it."

'How soon will you be back?"

I'll probably be able to visit him once in a while, but it will be years before I'll be able to come home properly.

"I'll probably be back in a few years."

She probably wanted to say she didn't want to. But understanding the circumstances of adults even as a child, Saraswati swallowed it down with tears at the edges of her eyes.

'I'm sorry for being such a bad father. Both of you."

". I hate you."

"Lucy, it''s no use!"

"------ What's wrong with you? I don't understand. Why do you have to leave the house?"

"That's because..."

"Even Norwin's leaving. "

"It's..."

She must have decided not to cry. After quickly wiping away the overflowing tears, Saraswati stared at me with a sharp look in her eyes.

"What's wrong?"

"Nothing."

'"I'm sorry. I'll go with you."

"No.'

"------. I don't want to."

"What? Wait, Saras? Why am I allowed to leave and you're not?'

"Because you're a jerk, Dad.'

"Ugh."

Schneizel interrupts our conversation and sinks to the ground on his own. The three of us laughed at that, but after the smiles, there was an uncomfortable silence.

We couldn't even have this kind of trivial conversation anymore.

That's what it means to be on the frontlines of battle.

"I'm sorry, but I'll come back stronger. Then the three of us will train together again.'

"Hmmm. I'm going to be strong enough to beat you to a pulp. I'll make you cry when you come back!"

"I've already done that. What do you want me to do? Do you want me to do it harder?"

"Stop? For God's sake, let's not do this Lucy, okay?

Oh, not any more. This conversation is too comfortable, and I'm afraid it's going to sway my decision to leave.

I took a deep breath between , then looked at Saraswati and Lucy again.

'Saras, Lucy. I'm off."

"Bye."

"I'm off ------."

'Shall we go then, Mr. Schneizel?"

"Yes, let's go. Are you ready, Misha?"

'Yes, I'm ready."

"Let's go."

------And so I left flew from Arregalia, the royal  capital where I had spent more than a year of my life
