Actually, the origin of Rong City was also full of legends, and could be said to be a legend.

According to the records of the《 Taiping Ring Book》, the name of the Rong City was to borrow the history of the Western Zhou Dynasty, and to use it, "in the name of King Zhou, from Mount Liang to Mount Qiqi, with a capital of one year, and in the name of Chengdu after three years, in the name of Chengdu", in the middle of the fifth century B.C., during the ninth generation of the Ming dynasty (367 B.C.), the capital city was to be moved from Guang Village (Shuangliu) to Chengdu, where it was built.

At the Han Dynasty, Chengdu's brocade industry was developed and became an important source of tribute for the imperial government. The imperial government then set up an imperial administration and built a "Jinguang City" in the southwest of the city. As a result, later generations used Jinguang City as a special name for Chengdu, and referred to it as the "Jincheng City".

However, the economy of Chengdu was quite prosperous, and Zuosi called it "both beautiful and exalted, with a real name Chengdu" in his book "Shu Du Fu", which was one of the famous Wujing in the Western Han Dynasty.

When it came to the fifth generation, the emperor of Shi, Meng, favored the hibiscus flowers and ordered the people to plant hibiscus trees on the city walls. During the blooming season, Chengdu was known as the "40 Li Jin Xiu", which was why Cheng was also known as the "Fu Rong City", which was later referred to as the "Rong City" or the "Rong".

In addition, Rong City was also a famous city in the history and culture of the country, where ancient Shu civilization originated. It was one of the ten great ancient capitals in China, and there were once seven independent governments that established their own capitals here, as well as prefectures and prefectures of the various dynasties.

In Tang Dynasty, Rong City was already one of the most developed industrial and commercial cities in China, and was known as "Yang Yi Yi Er". In the Northern Song Dynasty, it was also the second metropolis outside of Bianjing. It also invented the earliest banknotes in the world — — the cross, and even spawned many famous historical sites such as Jinsha Ruins, Dujiangyan, Wutong Shrine and Dufu Grass Hall, making it one of the best tourist cities in China.

Furthermore, since ancient times, the myths and anecdotes related to Rong City had never stopped, and the number of historical figures that had appeared was simply innumerable. For example, Shi Shougong, Li Bing, Sima Xiangyu, Zhuo Wenjun, Marquis Ge Wu, and the warlock Yuan Tiangang.

Take Lin Xi for example, when he was studying at Rong City, he heard a rather interesting story, and the main character of that story was the generation's poetical saint, Du Fu.

At that time, he was already destitute and had no foothold. Furthermore, he was not good at raising his family, so he could only rely on his family and friends, and luckily, he was on good terms with Yin Yan Wu in Chengdu at that time. Not only did he help him generously, he even spent money to help him build a house.

But during the construction of the Grass Hall, many interesting things happened, which was that although Yan Wu was Chengyin, he couldn't come here to pick up Ji Du Fu all the time, and he couldn't do everything to make friends. Fortunately, Du Fu had a wide range of friends, and other than Yan Wu, he had many other friends to rely on in the Rong City.

Therefore, when he was building the Grass Hall, as long as Du Fu felt that he was lacking something, he would compose a poem on this topic. Then, he would write a poem about how he would send a letter to Yan Wu or a close friend of his asking them for the materials to build the Grass Hall. If he did not have enough bricks and tiles, he would use bricks and tiles as the topic.

It was said that Du Fu was able to write more than a dozen poems in that period of time, sometimes in a day. It could be said that his output was quite high.

In the process, he also posted the most interesting thing.

That was, since he didn't have enough money to build the Grass Hall, Du Fu immediately wrote a poem explaining his predicament to a good friend, then waited outside the Grass Hall day and night.

Furthermore, because there was a small stream outside the Grass Hall, the stream water inside was rather fast, so there was a small wooden bridge built over the stream. In order to be able to see his good friend as soon as possible and in a timely manner, Du Fu had stood on the wooden bridge to wait.

However, on the day they agreed upon, Du Fu waited from morning until evening, but there was no sign of his good friend at all. In his disappointment, Du Fu thought that his good friend did not pay attention to the poems he had written, and just as he was about to return, he saw his good friend coming late from afar with a donkey behind him, dragging two baskets of copper coins. It turned out that his good friend had not come late, but had come late.

But it also showed Du Fu's eagerness at the time.

However, it was worth mentioning that his good friend had come late as well. The two baskets of copper coins that the donkey was carrying were simply too heavy. They were so heavy that even a donkey would be tired of them.

Before the Ming Dynasty, gold and silver weren't the main currency of our country. Even the production of silver was very low. The reason for this was that our country's silver ore production was really low.

This situation was improved only when, during the Ming dynasty's Longqing period, nearly a third of the silver production abroad flowed into China through the open sea. Since then, silver was used as a currency, but it was not common. Most of the silver was used as the official currency.

Therefore, in some TV dramas, it was impossible to throw out a piece of silver to settle the bill. It was just a fabrication made up by a novel, so it was impossible to do so in ancient times.

Thus, sometimes, because of the appearance of too many pretexts, people had a great misunderstanding towards the history of the world. This was extremely disadvantageous to the exploration of the truth of history.

For example, the Tang Dynasty's copper coins, due to their large weight and the fact that they weren't easily traded when used in large quantities, resulted in Du Fu's friends carrying donkeys and carrying two baskets of money to meet him.

Although the history of Du Fu Shrine had already been treated as a funny story by the people, and had even become the topic of discussion for some people after lunch, no one could deny Du Fu's historical value because of this.

It should be known that Du Fu has great attainments and influence in the history of Chinese literature, and has left a far-reaching "poetry history" for his descendants. Moreover, even though he was wandering in exile, he didn't forget to worry about his country and his people. His heart was connected to the common people, and it was precisely because of this quality that his descendants were extremely respectful and admired him, respecting him as a "sage poet".

These stories and anecdotes were naturally all familiar to the history department's top student, Lin Xi. And it was precisely because of this that Lin Xi respected every single person in history even more.

In his view, anyone who was able to cause waves in the flow of history, and even someone who had left a thick line, no matter if it was loyalty or adultery or evil, were all worthy of respect. This was because it was the existence of that group of people that had changed the course of history, made history even more interesting and exciting, and created the era that it was today.
