Chapter 186: What If Who Sees Who Naked?

Ji Yao didn't appreciate that in the slightest. He was about to scold him when Rui Fei appeared at the door saying, "Do you think he is your butler that you can boss around?"
Qilin Kai chuckled before saying, "And in comes the guard dog who likes sticking his nose in other people's business," as he averted his gaze.
Once more his shitty mouth had gotten him into trouble. Rui Fei was especially ruthless sending over an ominous grey fog that entered in between the bars and grasped his neck before pressing him against the wall.
Bam!
A painful dull sound permeated the air as the back of his head hit the wall hard. Just to show how serious this strike was there was blood splatter on the wall where he hit his head. His body limply fell to the floor and the brig was suddenly filled with silence.
A moment later painful groans were heard as Qilin Kai lay flat on the floor. He raised his head slightly as he touched the back of his head with his trembling fingers. A wet feeling coated his fingertips attracting his attention.
He moved his shaky fingers to his face and saw a crimson liquid. The longer he looked at it the more upset he became. This brat had actually injured him. Don't get him wrong he had been injured before but not in a defenceless state like this. This was the first time he was defenceless and the first time he was injured in this defenceless state.
He suddenly realised how fragile his life had become. With a simple snap of his neck, he would become a corpse just like normal humans. This terrified him more than when he saw Qilin Luse. His life was now fragile and Ji Yao was holding all the cards.
His powerlessness could be simply resolved by removing the shackles and weaning his body of the latrion in his system but getting Ji Yao to release him was virtually impossible.
He now felt the kind of helplessness Huishe Yue experienced all those years. It was a feeling that brought along the uncertainty which is death and for a Nocru, a being so powerful it was really hard to accept.
Ji Yao who had been so shocked by Rui Fei's reaction, tossed an elixir at Qilin Kai before grabbing hold of Rui Fei dragging him away by the wrist. Rui Fei was a little resistant at first but the warmth from Ji Yao holding his hand calmed the beast within him threatening to come out.
"You bitch!" bellowed Qilin Kai with courage that sprung up from nowhere. He threw the elixir away not caring to check where it landed. Scurrying over to the bars he yelled, "You only dare do such a shitty move when I am incapacitated..... You are just a fuckin boy. A real man faces their opponent at full strength. Th-...."
Bang! It was the sound of the door closing cutting off the rest of his sentence.
With the two gone the brig fell into silence with Qilin Kai looking at the bottle of elixir gently rocking left to right on the floor. Three more cycles and the bottle came to a stop. That's when a sharp stabbing pain penetrated his head from the open wound. Blood was already trickling down his neck towards his spine showing the seriousness of the blow.
Realising his mistake he mumbled, "Shit," as he eyed that bottle outside his prison cell. He shouldn't have taken it out on that bottle but it was too late for regrets. He knew he needed that elixir otherwise his ending would be as terrible as that of humans in his situation.
Feeling slightly light headed he plastered his body against the bars. With his head pressed on the heavy latrion bars, he reached out with his chained hand to grab the elixir. The tip of his finger touched the base of the bottle and he laughed like a fool out of his mind.
It seemed fate was smiling at him today. He pressed his body even harder on the bars till his face was twisted. This brought the bottle within reach. He grabbed it with great difficulty and just as he brought it closer a figure suddenly appeared in front of him, kicked the bottle away and stepped on it shattering it to pieces.
Qilin Kai, "...."
Qilin Luse showed a malicious smile before vanishing into thin air.
"Asshole!" he yelled but it was useless. There was no one to hear his cursing.

Red Bane calmly anchored in the middle of the sea with the off white coloured moon shining upon it. The occupants on the ship were merry drinking in celebration like at a festival. But this wasn't a festival but a festive feast for no particular reason.
Maybe it was because they had restocked their cellar that they were this boisterous and cheerful. Some were gambling and others were drinking while listening to stories of their love conquests onshore.
The competition was about who slept with the most people while onshore and so far an unlikely candidate was winning. Old Du was in the lead mentioning how this was for an experiment. He had extracted pheromones from a half Nocru corpse and tried its effects. He vowed it was purely for research but the entire crew became even wearier of him.
The rest of the ship might have been boisterous and loud but in the cabin, there was deafening silence unaffected by the outside world. One was seated calmly observing the keystone while the other was staring at him with an aggrieved expression.
Whatever Ji Yao said to Rui Fei must have been so bad for him to hold that expression for that long.
"Yao-ge," he spoke in a low voice as though afraid to press the wrong button and lose his privileges.
"Hm," replied Ji Yao without raising his head.
"You are being unreasonable," he mumbled a response.
Ji Yao sighed and finally looked at him. "How is not sharing a room unreasonable? I asked you If you see me naked what would you do and your answer was...," said Ji Yao with a tone used by parents when they are dictating rules to their children.
"I," he replied but found he couldn't justify himself. He averted his gaze while trying to find a way to save this situation.
"And there you have it... case closed," replied Ji Yao letting out an internal sigh. His answer to that question was relatively the same as that of Rui Fei. In fact, it would be much worse than Rui Fei's which meant this was for the best.. But this cub didn't want to give up easily.
