The cost for the repairs was minor compared to the cost of the new equipment, thus Arthur didn't mind it.

"Here you go," Arthur took out the required coins and handed it to the Armorer.

"You can come by in an hour and I should have the armor pieces repaired." The Armorer replied.

"Sure, I'll finish some work in that time." Arthur said before taking the helm and the boots.

He quickly equipped them as it was better to have some armor than none for now.

Thankfully he was still in the town and wouldn't necessarily have to worry about any attack.

'I may as well get information about the situation of the town…' Arthur thought as he went to the Adventurers guild.

If there was one place that would offer him the best information it would be there. Plus there was also a tavern inside it that would often have people whose tongues would wag after a bit of booze.

A few minutes was all it took Arthur to get to the Adventurer's guild where the people were already acting rowdy in the morning.

"Guess even with the high security they won't change…" Arthur chuckled.

In Morpheus Online NPCs had a lot of freedom and as such they could also be adventurers. In fact, they were often the strongest of the adventurers in any given city.

It would take a while before the players were able to catch up to them.

That was one of the advantages that the players had. Their growth rate was several times faster than that of the NPCs. Their levels grew faster and they also acquired skills faster than others.

But the NPCs still had the advantage in overall strength as they had established identities and strengths that overwhelmed the players. There were more NPCs than players too and some of them were very strong.

Plus players often had to obey the NPCs depending on the situation thus they were often in a disadvantage against the NPCs. It would take them a while to reach the same level as that of the ruling NPCs.

Even in Arthur's last life, there was no player that had managed to become a king. There were some that had managed to reach high rankings in clergy and nobles, but there was still anyone that had yet to become a king.

"Arzhur, you're back." While Arthur was thinking of all this, he heard a voice.

"Guild master Caleb." Arthur greeted the man.

"Hmm… let me guess… your equipment is being repaired?" The guild master questioned.

"Yeah. You got that right." Arthur nodded his head.

"You definitely should look into getting a spare later." The guild master suggested.

"I will as soon as I can afford it. I just bought some today." Arthur answered. "Though, what are you doing here?" he asked next.

"What? A guild master can't drink at his own tavern?" The man raised a brow.

"I thought you were supposed to be watching for intruders?" Arthur inquired.

"I am, I can still look at the entrance from here." Caleb replied. "Besides, it's my break time."

"Huh… and what's the real reason?" Arthur didn't buy it. "I saw the increased security in the town."

"Well, they did try to infiltrate two days ago," Caleb answered. "But it failed. They won't try again for a few more days since they were caught now." He added.

"They did?" Arthur furrowed his brows. "Who caught them?" he asked next.

"The fools made the mistake of running into the Guard Captain when he was out on a patrol himself." Caleb chuckled.

"Are their heads also on the display now?" Arthur wondered.

"Not yet… they are still imprisoned," Caleb replied.

"They haven't been interrogated yet?" Arthur was surprised as the last time the infiltrators were killed after they didn't talk.

"Fredric is trying a different method this time." Caleb said his expression turning serious. "The resident mage has suggested another method."

"The resident mage?" Arthur furrowed his brows. "Didn't they say that the magic of the cultists prevented them from spilling anything." he was doubtful.

"I don't know what it is exactly. But pretty sure they won't be using magic." Caleb replied. "I didn't pry much either. If they want help from me they'll ask directly."

"I see…" Arthur had a few thoughts about what they might be doing. 'If magic isn't working, there are still a few other ways they can interrogate them. Since the seal prevents them from speaking about their plans, it should be magical in nature and prevent them from consciously telling about it.' Arthur thought about it.

"Alchemical drugs might work…" Arthur muttered after thinking for a bit.

"So you came to the same conclusion," Caleb replied, hearing Arthur.

"You guessed the same?" Arthur inquired.

"It isn't hard to think. Plus, the alchemist's shop has been closed since that day. Pretty sure he's holed up with the Resident mage working on the 'solution'." Caleb answered.

"I see…" Arthur said, finding it intriguing.

Unlike the others, Arthur knew what was going to happen to the Town if things went as they did in his last life. The town would be attacked enough that the situation there would be changed.

Several NPC's would disappear and it was possibly due to the work of the bandits and cultists. If Arthur needed to stop that, he only had a few days left.

'Less than ten days of in game time.' Arthur repeated in his mind.

"Are you going to look into it?" Caleb suddenly asked. "I heard you talked to Fredric about some plan." He added.

"Yes… I've been preparing one." Arthur nodded his head before an idea came to his mind. "Would you be willing to participate too?" he asked.

"Me? If you mean leaving the town, then I'll have to decline. My duties won't allow it." Caleb shook his head.

"I see… it was worth a try. Guess it'll just have to be the Guard Captain." Arthur replied.

"Whatever you do, just make sure the guard captain isn't out for too long." Caleb stated. "There is no lack of people that would want to take advantage of his absence." He added.

"Other than the bandits?" Arthur raised his brows.

"It is not my place to say." Caleb rejected from revealing it. "The guard captain will tell you himself if he wishes to do so." He spoke.

"I'll keep that in mind." Arthur knew he wouldn't get much out of the man. 'I need to raise my reputation more for it to work.' He knew.

The reason why Caleb was even talking to him right now was due to the reputation increase Arthur had gotten from the bounties and the help he had provided. If not, there was no way a Guild master would talk to a player out of the random.

'And since I'm the only player here for now, I also have an advantage,' Arthur thought to himself before getting up.

"Leaving already?" Caleb inquired.

"Yeah, I should head off. I still need to buy a few more things." Arthur stated.

"Take some requests since you're already here." Caleb spoke. "A few fresh ones arrived today that are good enough for a newbie."

"I had that in mind, yeah." Arthur agreed.

He left the tavern and went to the jobs section. He looked at the job board and saw tens of requests that were hanging on it.

"Most of these are out of my reach for now…" Arthur saw multiple jobs that would only end up getting him killed. 'Most of these aren't even for characters below level 20.' He noted.

But after a couple minutes of searching, he found a couple of them that were perfect for him.

"I can complete these in tandem." Arthur decided on two jobs before taking them to the clerk to issue them to him.

"So you'll be taking the 'Dew Berry gathering' job as well as the 'Highway Gerbil Subjugation' job?" The clerk asked for confirmation.

"Yes." Arthur nodded his head.

"Very well. I shall issue them to you then." The clerk confirmed.
