As cautious as Arthur was in setting up the boulders as a defensive measure to hide when logging in, he had never expected a fireball to land near him.

At most, he was expecting an ambush of beasts or perhaps even bandits. But after the decimation of Dozla's Bandit group, even those wouldn't dare to come here. Bandits also seemed to be the only ones who might be able to use fireballs due to having mages among them.

But if Arthur considered the native animals and beast that lived here nothing fit the bill.

'That explosion was also stronger than a usual fireball.' Arthur thought further.

~BOOM~BOOM~BOOM~

And sure enough, a couple seconds later more explosions were heard while the temperature of the area rose up.

'Shit. I'd be cooked if not for the Ember Bellow Set.' Arthur thought to himself while trying to keep his cool.

He focused on the sound of the explosions and tried to estimate where they were coming from.

'At the very least I can tell that they aren't targeting me.' Arthur guessed from the distance where they had landed.

They seemed more like stray fireballs that just so happened to land near.

~BOOM~

More fire balls continued to explode, but this time Arthur sensed that they were farther from him. This made him a bit relieved and also allowed him to gather the courage to peek out once more.

~Huuu~

Taking a deep breath, Arthur raised his head.

"Here goes nothing..." Arthur grabbed the small boulders side and pushed himself up using the large boulder.

His head peeked out just enough that only the top of his helmet could be seen. Thankfully he was in the shadow of the mountain and wouldn't be spotted easily. Then there was also the stealth skill that would keep him hidden better.

Arthur's eyes darted around looking for the foes that might be around. But much to his surprise he saw something a lot more concerning.

'Where the hell is the rest of the path?! The mountain side is also collapsed!' Arthur's eyes went wide as he saw the previously safe mountain side having been broken down.

The area was around 10 meters wide before this and was safe to stay at. But now, barely 3 meters of flat area was left with the rest having been turned into rubble. Arthur could even look further and saw the debris along the mountain side.

'What the hell happened while I was gone?' Arthur was very worried and confused.

Large scale area changes were not impossible but were certainly uncommon. Morpheus Online had natural disasters like earthquakes, land slides, storms and more which could change the topography.

Arthur first thought that it could be one of these, but the subsequent rain of fireballs soon changed that thought.

~BOOM~BOOM~BOOM~

A series of fireballs struck the mountain side while a certain black figure was dodging them.

Arthur could barely see the figure and realized that the figure was fighting someone else.

'Considering that person can jump around at that height and the way its dodging the fireballs... it is easily over level 200.' Arthur's face darkened. 'But who's shooting the fireballs?' he could recognize that it was a spell.

There was also the palpable mana waves in the air that were a result of the strong spell

'That's a high rank fire spell... Scorch Rain.' Arthur identified the magic. 'Shit! If it is that, only mages with their second class upgrade can use it.' He felt like his understating of the game was being challenged.

According to what he knew, there wasn't supposed to be anyone that could use spells like that in this area. In order to get a second class upgrade, a player or NPC would have to be at level 100 or higher.

Arthur tried to get a proper look at the black figure that was dodging the fireballs in the air but couldn't do so. The black figure would jump from mountain to mountain, while avoiding the rain of fireballs.

The ones that had landed near Arthur were just some missed attacks and weren't targeted at him.

It took thirty seconds of tracking before Arthur finally got a proper look at the figure which had landed on the mountain on the other side. Arthur could barely tell that it was an armored individual, but he was not going to rely on just his eyesight.
