Chapter 270 The Final Two Lizards
"Haa~ Haa~ Haa~" Arthur took deep breaths, as his hands continued to move.
He was currently hanging off the side of one of the tall Spindle like hills.
"Almost there..." Arthur looked up, seeing the top of the hill.
~CLANG~CLANG~CLANG~
Using the Black Tear Short Sword as a chisel to make holes, Arthur continued to go higher. Even if he had been learning Rock Climbing, it didn't mean that he could climb without any appropriate foot holds or holding points.
As such, making a few holes or cracks with the Black Tear Short Sword made it convenient for him to proceed.
And just a couple of minutes later, he was finally at the top of the hill.
"Hooh~ The view from here should allow me to find them." Arthur said and looked around.
He could see several Dagger Beak Falcons as well as their nests, which was exactly where the Twin Tailed Lizards were likely to be at. They were always hungry for their eggs and would be targeting the nests that had those.
'Not those... not those... and not those either.' Lin Mu specifically looked for nests with eggs and didn't see any nearby. "No eggs in any of them? That's unusual." He muttered in surprise.
But then an idea came to him.
"Wait... are those nests empty because the Twin Tailed Lizards already consumed the eggs?" Arthur wondered.
He hoped that it was not true, as it would mean that he would have to go even further in search of them. He wished that the two lizards were nearby as he had already come quite far.
Arthur didn't give up this easily though and continued to look. He couldn't look at the eggs in the nests far away, but it didn't mean that he couldn't determine whether they had eggs in them or not.
Arthur focused on the behavior of the Dagger Beak Falcons, in order to tell whether the nests had eggs or not. They would be protective of their nests when there were eggs in them and would usually have at least one of the Dagger Beak Falcons staying near it at all times.
Even if the other Dagger Beak Falcons went out to hunt, some would stay behind to watch the nests.
"Could be there." Soon enough, Arthur found a hill to the south east that seemed to have a few nests on them.
And all of the nests had one Dagger Beak Falcon staying in it, but no other Dagger Beak Falcons could be seen around.
"They should definitely have eggs." Arthur determined.
And if the nests had eggs, then the chances of the Twin Tailed lizards being there was also quite likely.
'Since they have already finished the eggs in this area, they will probably head there.' Arthur inferred.
With that done, he climbed down from the hill.
"Ki?" Brambles asked whether he had found out their targets.
"I didn't see them, but I probably know where they are." Arthur replied. "Let's head to the south east." He said while pointing at some hills in the distance.
They were roughly half a kilometer from where they were, and wouldn't take long to reach.
"KI!" Brambles nodded his head and the two made their way there.

The Dagger Beak Falcons let out panicked cries as if they had just been ambushed.
"Got you!" Arthur smiled as he spotted the first Twin Tailed Lizard.
It was forced to abandon its camouflage when it was consuming the eggs. Plus it had just killed a Dagger Beak Falcon and had its blood on its body, which stood out even if it used Camouflage.
"Get ready, Brambles. I'll get it down first." Arthur said and approached the hill.
He waited for the Twin Tailed Lizard to finish its meal. It would try to leave when it was full and move on to another hill. But to do that, the Twin Tailed Lizard would have to climb down, and that was exactly when Arthur intended to strike.
"Come on, any time now..." Arthur prepared Dietrich and infused a spell into it with Spear Coating.
At the same time, he had his free hand ready to cast Stone Bullet.
After about a minute of waiting, it finally happened.
The Twin Tailed Lizard left the nest and started to climb back down. It had licked away most of the blood on its body, which allowed it to camouflage without any issues again.
Still, it was enough for Arthur to spot and attack.
But just as Arthur was thinking all this, Brambles suddenly cried out.
"KIRIIIIII!" The beetle cried while rushing towards Arthur.
~BOOM~
And just when it was behind him, an explosion happened.
"Cough!" Arthur coughed from the dust that had been whipped up due to the explosion.
The explosion was not that of fire though and seemed to be invisible until it actually hit.

Arthur watched as the damage notification appeared in front of him.
"Brambles actually got injured?" Arthur raised a brow, as this was not easy to happen. 'He was moving so Carapace Shield did not activate. But still... for him to sustain damage...' he was concerned.
The only way it was possible was if the enemy was that much stronger.
"HISSAAAAA!" Arthur then heard a threatening hiss coming from behind Brambles.
"Brambles' Carapace Shield!" Arthur immediately ordered.

Then in the next moment, another explosion happened, but this time it was fiery.
Arthur could feel the heat too, and quickly recognized what the attack was.
'Draconid breath... there's a Twin Tailed Lizard here.' Arthur narrowed his eyes and infused another spell into Dietrich.
