Chapter 111: On a pirate ship

In the “Integrity First” live broadcast room:

[Aaaaaah!]

[Aaaaaah my wife is so hot, aaaaaaah!!! (50 rewards points)]

[Aaahhhhh, come threaten me, I beg you!!! I will definitely lie down and let you do as you wish! (100 reward points)]

Wen Jianyan looked at his teammates, who were standing by.

He showed a sunny smile and said, “Alright, the task is completed!”

He pushed Blond forward and said casually:

“Keep playing.”

“???”

Blond looked at Wen Jianyan in terror, tears welling up in his eyes again, trembling.

Yun Bilan and the others: “…”

It seemed they suddenly understood why this guy was so afraid of them.

Well… looking at it like this, they do seem quite devilish.

Wen Jianyan didn’t know what his teammates were thinking.

He lowered his head, took out his phone from his pocket, and carefully compared the photo he had left behind with the flat map in the mirror world in his mind:

“Let me think…”

Although this project was supposed to be a welfare project, Wen Jianyan doubted whether they could really get any “welfare” under his own luck.

And now, he had already exceeded the mission requirements.

Not only did he successfully kidnap Blond, but he also unexpectedly obtained a difficult hidden item in this project.

The next top priority was to clear the project using the shortest route.

Soon, Wen Jianyan planned a route in his mind.

If he followed this route, he should be able to clear the project by passing through ten rooms at most. However…

He lifted his eyes and fixed his gaze on one of the slowly moving stairs, squinting slightly.

He needed to understand the operating rules of this staircase.

“…Every-every fifteen minutes, it rotates one step clockwise, and for each additional team that passes through, the time is reduced by five minutes.”

Blond noticed Wen Jianyan’s gaze and said softly, weakly.

The rest of the group were all taken aback and unexpectedly turned their heads to look at him.

The sudden attention from everyone scared Blond, causing him to tremble and take a step back involuntarily.

“What-what’s going on?”

With the enhancement of his visual abilities, his observation skills were also strengthened and improved. Especially since he had been with the team longer than Wen Jianyan, he had a deeper understanding of the movement pattern of the stairs.

“Is it true?”

Yun Bilan narrowed her eyes, “You’re not trying to deceive us with false rules and lure us to meet your teammates, are you?”

“No, no, I… I didn’t do that!”

Blond’s face turned red, and he was so flustered that he couldn’t explain clearly.

Nervously, he secretly glanced at Wen Jianyan, seemingly afraid of being misunderstood for doing something sneaky.

Although he was timid, he still had some genuine thinking ability. After the recent incident, Blond realized that his life was in the hands of the person in front of him. The only thing he could do was to cooperate, prove his abilities, and avoid being abandoned by the team.

…At least, that’s how he had survived until now.

Blond shrank back a bit.

Five minutes later, Wen Jianyan withdrew his gaze from the nearby staircase and said, “It is indeed the case.”

This ability is indeed useful.

No wonder that team of mercenaries brought this guy along.

Wen Jianyan looked interestedly at Blond, his eyes like someone looking at a mouthwatering piece of bacon hanging on the wall before the Chinese New Year.

He curled his lips and said:

“Not bad.”

“…!!!”

Blond shivered, almost having an instinctive reaction to Wen Jianyan’s smile. He subconsciously wanted to retreat, but after a while, he realized that the other person was praising him. He murmured:

 “Th-thank you.”

Based on the clues provided by Blond, Wen Jianyan quickly re-planned the route:

“Since that’s the case, the next steps will be much easier.”

He put his phone back into his pocket and walked straight ahead, saying, “Let’s go. We should be able to finish this project soon.”

In the distant top room:

“Boss, what should we do next?”

A teammate looked at Hui Cheng and asked, “What’s our plan?”

“…”

Hui Cheng narrowed his eyes slightly.

Blond’s abilities were crucial in finding their mission target, but now the other party had actually been taken away by the mission target himself. This was like having a leak in the roof and encountering a sudden rainstorm.

It was really unfortunate.

However, as long as the target hadn’t left this project yet, he still had a chance to turn the tables!

“Let’s follow them.”

As Hui Cheng spoke, he turned to look at his teammates.

“Drip, drip.”

The sound of something dripping echoed.

Hui Cheng was taken aback and subconsciously turned his head toward the direction of Lao San. He saw the heavy backpack on Lao San’s back drooping down, and thick crimson blood was slowly dripping out of it, making a “drip, drip” sound as it fell to the ground.

His pupils contracted.

“What’s wrong?” Lao San asked in confusion.

“You… what do you have in your backpack?”

Hui Cheng asked slowly, his face turning ashen.

“Nothing,” Lao San replied.

“Sizzle…”

With his footsteps, the heavy backpack zipper was slightly pulled open, and Lao San looked out from the darkness with his dark, terrified eyes.

At some point, Lao San’s pupils turned into rectangles.

When he opened his mouth, there seemed to be a faint scent of blood wafting out in the air: “What’s wrong?”

There seemed to be a soft, short “baa” sound coming from his throat.

The following journey was not exactly smooth.

After a difficult escape from one of the rooms, Yun Bilan was panting and puzzled:

“It’s really strange. Our luck seems to always be bad along the way.”

Opening treasure chests resulted in eight out of ten negative items, and the spin wheel always landed on debuffs. The missions they received were also highly dangerous. Although they managed to overcome the dangers each time, it was still quite frustrating.

Elise agreed with a sigh, “That’s right!”

She sighed again, “It’s the first time my goldfinger has encountered such a rough patch in my professional career. It’s too weird…”

Wen Jianyan’s gaze flickered for a moment. He lightly coughed and continued walking forward, “Let’s go. According to our previous estimation, after this door, we should be able to clear this project.”

Yun Bilan sighed.

“Let’s go, then.”

The silver key was inserted into the keyhole, making a faint metallic sound. With a “click,” the door slowly opened in front of them, revealing the familiar amusement park plaza.

The air was filled with pleasant music, and the ticket-selling sheep waved at them:

“Congratulations on clearing the level! Please continue forward; there are more projects waiting for you in this park!”

Wen Jianyan stepped forward.

Before leaving, he glanced back.

Strange.

He had thought that the group would try to intercept them along the way, but unexpectedly, they never showed up…

The door slowly closed in front of his eyes, completely concealing the twisted maze inside.

Wen Jianyan withdrew his gaze and walked toward his waiting teammates not far away.

Wen Ya glanced at her phone, her expression visibly relaxed, “We only used forty minutes in total.”

They still had two hours and twenty minutes left out of the three-hour time limit, which should theoretically be enough.

Yun Bilan rubbed her hands together eagerly.

“Let’s go, let’s go, to the food area!”

After clearing the fourth project and successfully kidnapping Blond, the next step was to head to the east side staff rest area to rescue Lilith!

“Speaking of which,” Wen Jianyan looked at Blond, “Aren’t you curious why I brought you here?”

Blond: “…”

He nodded cautiously.

“Of course, it’s because you are important.”

Wen Jianyan said, putting his arm around the nervous Blond and winking mysteriously, “The next steps will rely on you.”

Blond: ???

He stared blankly at the young man in front of him, feeling inexplicably chilly down his spine.

Why…

He had a strange feeling of foreboding?!

***

Ten minutes later.

The group arrived at the food area.

Blond stood at the entrance of the food area, carefully reading the information displayed there.

Since they came from the leisure park area, the next place they should visit was the popcorn stall to buy today’s featured popcorn.

He raised his head, scanning the food area, and quickly found the direction of the popcorn stall.

However, before Blond could take a step forward, he heard Wen Jianyan’s voice from behind, “Hey, where are you going?”

“?” Blond was taken aback, “Aren’t we going to buy popcorn?”

“That can wait.”

Wen Jianyan casually put his hands in his pockets, his loosely hanging clothes giving him a somewhat unruly look. He raised his hand and pointed not far away:

“Let’s go to the east side first.”

Blond’s gaze followed his finger and fell on the words “Visitors Prohibited” displayed on a sign.

He blankly opened his mouth, “Wait… isn’t that…”

A feeling of being led onto a pirate ship surged in him.

The young man laughed, “Yes, what’s wrong?”

“…” Blond felt his vision blur and almost fainted.

What’s wrong?

You ask what’s wrong??

He stiffly turned his head and stared at the eighth rule of the “Fantasy Amusement Park Food Area Rules” in front of him – “Visitors Prohibited on the East Side,” falling into a long silence.

Is it not?

Where are you guys going?

Can you say it again???
