Chapter 94: Which of you two is the charmer?

Not far away, a tall mirror house stood quietly among the trees; its walls were flat and smooth, reflecting the dazzling light.

It looked so abrupt as if it appeared out of nowhere.

But it also seemed that it had been there for a long time and was only now being discovered.

“What’s wrong?”

Yun Bilan noticed Wen Jianyan’s strange expression and asked suspiciously.

“Is there something wrong?”

She asked, turning her head to look behind her.

The rest of the people also turned around one after another, following Wen Jianyan’s gaze and looking back.

The moment they saw the mirror house, everyone’s pupils couldn’t help but shrink, and they subconsciously gasped.

The psychological shadow brought by the rule board at the entrance of the leisure park was too great. Even though the air temperature around them had not changed, they still couldn’t help feeling a chill on their backs and their fine hair standing on end.

“This, this is…”

Elise whispered, breaking the stagnant and dead air.

“It’s…the mirror maze.”

Lilith raised her eyes. Her eyes seemed a little dazed. Her gaze fell on the mirror house flickering among the branches not far away, and she murmured: “That’s right, it’s the mirror maze.”

Yun Bilan frowned slowly and asked in a low voice with some uncertainty: “Was it there before? We didn’t notice it all the time, or…”

She didn’t say the rest of the sentence, but even so, everyone knew what she would say next.

Wen Jianyan took a deep breath and forced himself to look away from the mirror surface among the trees not far away.

“Don’t look.”

His order was urgent and short, and there was a bit of undisguised solemnity in the depth of his slightly hoarse voice.

Everyone couldn’t help but be startled and subconsciously look away.

“Don’t forget, there is no mirror maze in this area.” Wen Jianyan said calmly, “So, we didn’t see anything; we didn’t find anything.”

Those amber eyes were clear and soft, and they looked extraordinarily calm without any waves. He looked over peacefully, as if completely undisturbed by the mirror maze that appeared within sight without warning.

Under the gaze of those eyes, the rest of the people also calmed down.

In this instance, apart from the “rules”, the anchor’s mental state was a very important point. If you want to live long, you must try to minimize the impact of the instance.

Wen Jianyan took a deep breath and said,

“Let’s go to the next project.”

He pointed to the road sign not far away.

Below the road sign was a path paved with colorful cobblestones, extending in the opposite direction of the mirror maze.

Wen Jianyan: “Let’s follow this road down, and we should be able to reach the concentration point of projects.”

Several people looked at each other, nodded, and walked down the path together.

Not far away, the mirror maze still stood quietly in place, shining dazzlingly in the sun, as if it was really just an ordinary, non-threatening amusement project.

Wen Jianyan, who was walking at the end of the line, seemed to realize something suddenly. He paused and glanced thoughtfully into the distance.

The young man stood there for a few seconds, then turned around and quickly followed his other teammates.

***

“……”

The yellow-haired man suddenly looked away, his chest heaving unsteadily.

His yellowed eyes trembled slightly, and he grabbed his hair nervously: “It’s over, it’s over, I’ve been discovered——”

Standing next to the yellow-haired man was the captain of the mercenary team, Hui Cheng1. He seemed to have gotten used to the opponent’s nervousness, so he raised his hand, slapped him on the forehead, and said impatiently:

“How many times have I told you that we won’t be discovered?!”

The yellow-haired man’s ability was to enhance the five senses, i.e., vision enhancement. With this, their mercenary team could find the target anchor in different instances and continue to track outside the alert range of the opponent to find out the other party’s talents and weaknesses, and so on.

But the yellow-haired man’s shortcoming was that he was really too timid. Obviously, his talent could provide an excellent long-distance viewing position, but he was worried every day, always thinking that he had been discovered.

“How was that? What happened just now? Did you find out what the target person and his team’s abilities are?”

The yellow-haired man’s mood seemed to have not stabilized.

He took seven or eight deep breaths before hesitatingly saying: “I’m not sure…”

The abilities of the rest of the teammates were obvious; one was attack-type with a violent output, the other was a group control type, and one was a charm type, but…

The ability of the target person was still a mystery.

Judging from those anchors who suddenly screamed and rolled all over the floor, the other party’s talent should be to create illusions, but…

After listening to the yellow-haired man’s description, Hui Cheng sneered: “Illusion-type? That can only deceive the anchor who is not determined.”

 “But…but that anchor’s belly suddenly bulged…”

The yellow-haired man whispered in a weak voice.

“That’s at most some kind of auxiliary prop.” Qi Ze2 waved his hand and said it indifferently.

The yellow-haired man: “But…”

“No buts,” Hui Cheng interrupted him impatiently: “Let’s go and keep up; if we can find an opportunity, we can start it in the next project.”

They had already spent too much time in this instance, and the longer they delayed, the more accidents were likely to happen. It was better to make a quick decision and complete the task quickly; otherwise, they might even be overwhelmed when the time of the instance developed to the end. The best time to get things done was with the next project.

The yellow-haired man swallowed the words he hadn’t spoken yet.

He looked hesitantly in the direction where the group of people disappeared just now, his eyes flickering.

He knew that he was timid, and he always felt that he had been discovered, but…

The feeling of being noticed just now was too strong, as if the other party had also clearly noticed his gaze. They were separated by a distance, but the feeling that their lines of sight clearly intersected made his scalp tingle.

“……”

The yellow-haired man gritted his teeth, and stared at the backs of his teammates, but finally did not express his thoughts.

***

Following the colorful path to the end, an open field appeared in front of everyone soon.

The ground was clean and tidy, cheerful music echoed in the air, and countless colorful and dazzling projects were slowly rotating. Staff in plush clothing stood at the door, swinging and dancing to the music, and the voice of conversation was blurred by the sound of music, creating a false sense of excitement.

Many anchors gathered in this area. Compared with when they first entered the park, many people’s ages have changed to varying degrees.

There were young and middle-aged people in the park, as well as teenagers, and there were a few children who looked younger in the crowd.

In the colorful amusement park, tall and short, large and small, people were mixed together, giving people the illusion of visiting a real amusement park.

Wen Jianyan stood where he was, his eyes flickering over the anchors.

It was still difficult to determine the level of strength through “age”. After all, older age did not necessarily mean that they had more remaining coupons. Maybe they just didn’t get the time to go to the food area for consumption. The young age similarly didn’t necessarily mean that too many projects had been cleared; maybe they spent too many coupons to buy props in the gift area, or they were robbed by other anchors.

It seemed that the leisure zone did indeed have the largest area in the entire amusement park.

There were more than a dozen projects in this area alone.

Unfortunately, because Wen Jianyan and the others came late, many familiar projects had been closed, such as the merry-go-round, rotating teacups, Ferris wheel, and so on.

Obviously, these most well-known projects were the first to be snatched up.

The remaining projects now seemed to be the special items of the amusement park that had never been seen elsewhere, such as Crazy Little Train, Monster Park, Fairy Tale Airship, Halloween Turntable, and so on.

Although it was difficult to associate the specific content of the project with its name, each of them could always give people some unpleasant associations.

“What do you think?”

Wen Ya looked around, frowned, and asked in a low voice.

Elise withdrew her gaze, and a look of embarrassment flashed across her face: “I’ve never heard of these projects, and I don’t know how to play them. Should we choose one blindly?”

Yun Bilan shrugged and said coldly :

“But we know how to play haunted houses and roller coasters, but we haven’t seen much higher survival rates.”

“……” Elise sighed: “You’re right.”

Lilith on the side kept her head down, seeming to be a little absentminded.

Wen Jianyan’s eyes fell on her, and he couldn’t help frowning slightly.

He stepped forward, patted Lilith on the shoulder, and asked in a low voice,

“Are you okay?”

Lilith raised her head.

Her face was extremely pale under the light, her eyes were dazed, and her mental state seemed to be even worse.

“I’m… okay.”

Looking at your expression, it doesn’t seem like you’re okay.

Wen Jianyan sighed.

He took a step forward and turned his eyes around the entire park. His gaze landed on a corner not far away, and then he decisively said: “In that case, let’s go there.”

“Have you decided?” Yun Bilan followed Wen Jianyan’s line of sight; her eyes fell on the colorful sign at the door, and she was startled:

“Crazy little train? Why did you choose this? Is it not difficult?”

“I don’t know if this project is too difficult or not.”

Wen Jianyan’s eyes fell on the staff who sold tickets at the door. He was wearing a tortoiseshell cat costume, looking very furry and cute.

He smiled silently and winked at Lilith:

“But I have a gift for this project; at least the danger won’t be too great.”

Lilith was startled.

She raised her eyes and looked at the boy in front of her in shock.

Although the other party didn’t say anything,… Lilith understood that he chose this project for herself.

“……”

Her beautiful eyes sparkled, her mouth was opened, and she was muttering as if she wanted to say something.

“Let’s go, or other anchors will preempt us.”

But before Lilith could say anything, Wen Jianyan lightly interrupted her.

There was a faint smile in the amber eyes of the young man, and the light fell on her body for a moment like a dragonfly on the water and then left after touching her: “Follow me quickly.”

He turned around and walked forward.

Due to the shrinkage of his figure, his shoulders have become thinner. Even so, one could still see his once-straight frame. The shirt hung loosely on his shoulders, outlining a clean outline.

Looking from behind, from head to toe, there was a bright and youthful look.

Lilith bit her lower lip and muttered:

“…this brat is quite good at playing handsome.”

Although she said so, there was a smile in her eyes, and her pale face seemed to have recovered a little. Lilith took a deep breath and followed up.

 In Lilith’s live broadcast room:

[F*ck, don’t say… This Lilith fan is actually a little bit moved after seeing it. Why is it like this?!!]

[??? So, which one of you two is from the Charmer!]

[F*ck, who still remembers that the purpose of the anchor’s entry in the first place was to attack that new player? As a result, she hasn’t even met that person yet and is about to be conquered by another anchor who came out of nowhere!]

[The charm type is charmed by the non-charm type; what’s going on? Has this world changed without my knowledge?!]
