Anakin opened his eyes, stretching his legs out of his meditative position, he got up and left his room, taking a second to check on the youngling before going to the kitchen. Dinah would wake up soon and he wanted to have breakfast ready.

“Hello there.”

He froze, his mind taking a second to reboot before turning to look at the sofa. Sitting there, translucent and looking incredibly smug, was Obi-Wan, his former master. “Sithspit.”

“You know, I don’t think you should be able to use that particular exclamative,” Obi-Wan said, lifting a translucent snack to his mouth. “Is it even an insult to you?”

“Hello, master,” Anakin said, pinching the bridge of his nose. “What are you doing here?”

“Well, I was just enjoying my union with the Force when I suddenly felt a great disturbance, as if a certain apprentice was finally trying to put my teachings to use instead of ignoring them.”

Frying some bacon, Anakin heard Dinah getting up and sighed. “Great, if you were only here to laugh and say I told you so, you have accomplished your goal, you can go now.”

“The truth is often what we make of it, you heard what you expected to hear… but yes, it is amusing to watch you now,” Dinah walked out of her room, sitting on the counter. “Well, what do we have here?”

“Morning,” Dinah yawned, ignoring the Force Ghost and picking a bacon strip, starting to nibble it.

“Oh, look, she even has a prosthetic hand,” Obi-Wan said, sitting up on the sofa and looking at the girl with a smile. “Did she lose it to a Sith lightsaber too or was it some hare-brained scheme that probably made you earn a few gray hairs? Either runs in the family.”

“... Both, in a way,” Anakin sighed, pushing a cup of juice toward the girl. “We’ll take a break from Matukai training this morning.”

“Is that a blaster I see at her waist?” His former master shouted from the sofa. “For shame!”

Anakin ignored the amused Jedi, eating his own meal and doing his best not to glance his way.

“Really?” Dinah asked, eyes briefly narrowed in suspicion before relaxing. “Well, can you tell me about your time as a cape then?”

“Oh, go on, this I have to hear,” Obi-Wan got up and walked behind the balcony, sitting beside him.

“Perhaps another time,” Anakin said, glancing at the Force Ghost. “I was not a good man, made many mistakes in my life. I don’t think you’d like to hear them in the morning.”

“It-it couldn’t have been that bad… right?” Dinah asked, looking at him with sympathy.

“Hmmm, should we talk about the Tuskan Raiders?” Obi-Wan asked with great amusement. “Or perhaps Master Windu, Alderan… the younglings?”

“... We don’t talk about the younglings,” Anakin sighed, he could already feel this was going to be a long morning. "Could you just.. leave?"

"I could," Obi-Wan nodded, then actually put a hand on his shoulder. "You know, I'm very glad to see I was wrong, Luke did manage to get through to you. It's nice to have my brother back."
