Chapter 456: Huo Yun Chen's Place

The elevator stopped at the floor with a ding.
Xia Yu looked at the number on the display and her grip on the strap of her purse tightened.
"Come on. We're here."
Huo Yun Chen's voice snapped her out of her trance. Xia Yu inhaled a deep breath and followed him out of the elevator. Her heartbeat accelerated with each step that she take.
The two of them finally arrived in front of the door. Xia Yu watched as the man keyed in his password and pulled the door open. He turned around and flashed her a bright smile.
"Xia Yu, welcome to my place."
Blood rushed to her head, making her feel a little dizzy.
Xia Yu was still having a hard time believing that she had agreed to come with Huo Yun Chen to his place. To think that she was easily tempted by the bowl of noodles that he promised to cook for her... Xia Yu felt embarrassed of herself.
The lights were switched on, allowing her to look at the spacious space in front of her. Just then, a pair of pink fluffy slippers appeared in front of her.
"Here, wear this."
Xia Yu contemplated for a few seconds before she finally changed into the slippers. Noticing that Huo Yun Chen had taken it out of the plastic a while ago, Xia Yu could guess that this pair of slippers should be new.
When did he prepare for all this?
Huo Yun Chen watched his girlfriend look around the place. Fortunately, his assistant had helped to call someone to clean his place during his absence.
Seeing the little changed he had made in his house to prepare for his girlfriend's visit made him smile.
His apartment was usually decorated in simple white and wood color. For Xia Yu's visit, Huo Yun Chen had especially reminded Lin You to make it more liveable.
After listening to his idea, Lin You decided to put a vase of fresh flowers in the living room. Then, there were a few potted greens at the corner of the room. On the empty sofa, there were a few new cushions.
It was only a little change but Huo Yun Chen thought that these changes did not look so bad.
Noticing that his girlfriend was standing beside him, Huo Yun Chen quickly cleared his throat. "Do you want something to drink?"
"Just water would be fine."
"Then, sit in the living room and watch TV first. I'll go and cook something for you."
Xia Yu gripped his sleeve to stop him and raised a brow. "Do you know how to cook?"
Now that she had finally arrived at his place, Xia Yu finally remember to ask this important question. She seemed to remember that Huo Yun Chen had once mentioned in an interview that he did not know how to cook.
"Isn't it just a bowl of noodles? It should not be too difficult, right?" Huo Yun Chen patted her hand before he walked over to the kitchen.
Xia Yu stood in the living room and hesitated.
Should she sit in the living room or followed him to the kitchen?
After a while, Xia Yu decided to stay to look around.
The two of them has been dating for some time but this was the first time that she had come to his apartment. Her gaze fell on the vase of fresh lilies on the table and thought that the flower did not match Huo Yun Chen's character much.
A loud sound came from the kitchen.
After a brief hesitation, Xia Yu went to the kitchen to check on her boyfriend. She stood at the kitchen's entrance and watched as Huo Yun Chen read the direction from the instant noodle packet.
When he said that he wanted to make her a bowl of noodles, he meant that he was going to make instant noodles...
Realizing that she was tempted to come over for a bowl of instant noodles made her burst into a small laugh.
Huo Yun Chen quickly turned when he heard her voice. He looked at her in surprise and smiled. "Why are you here?"
Xia Yu leaned on the wall. "I heard some sound and thought that you have injured yourself. As your private nurse, of course, I have to check on you." Her gaze fell on the packet of instant noodles in his hand. "Do you need any help?"
"It's fine. It's just cooking the noodle and pouring in some seasoning." He looked at the boiled water and put the dried noodle in. "Miss Xia, don't worry. I won't let you go hungry."
"Then, can I sit here and watch?" Xia Yu motioned towards the stool beside her.
Huo Yun Chen hesitated and nodded. He turned around and poured her a glass of warm water.
Xia Yu slid into the stool and propped both hands on the table as she watched Huo Yun Chen stir the noodle with a pair of chopsticks.
Then, he turned around to grab a new pan and started to fry some eggs.
Surprisingly, Huo Yun Chen would look so serious and handsome while he cooked.
It might be just a packet of instant noodles but at this time, she was the only fan who get to watch this sight as well as to receive this special treatment.
Seeing that the noodle had gone softer, Huo Yun Chen poured in the packets of seasonings into the pot and stirred the noodles.
The smell of the noodle wafted into the air. Once he was sure that the noodle was cooked, Huo Yun Chen scooped the noodle into two bowls. He walked over to the refrigerator and took out a container.
"I only have some pickled vegetables in this house. I hope this would be enough."
Xia Yu shook her head. "I'm not picky." She peered into the container and noticed that it was pickled radishes.
Huo Yun Chen placed the bowls in front of her and passed her the chopsticks. Then, he turned around to check on the fried eggs. Seeing that it was cooked, Huo Yun Chen slid the egg into a plate.
Xia Yu looked at the food on the table and wondered if she should take a picture of it.
Just as she had snapped a picture of the noodle, Huo Yun Chen's loud gasp reverberated in the room.
She lifted her head and saw him staring at his fingers. Her instinct told her to rush over. "What happened?"
"It's nothing." Huo Yun Chen blew on his fingers. "I accidentally touched the hot pan."
Her eyes caught the sight of his slightly reddened fingers. Xia Yu quickly grabbed his hand and dragged him to the sink. She turned on the water and let the water run on his fingers.
"I'm fine." Huo Yun Chen tried to pull his hands away but Xia Yu's grip was a little tight.
Xia Yu did not answer him but continued to let the water run on his fingers. After a while, she finally turned off the water and stared at his long fingers for a long time.
"I'm really fine." Huo Yun Chen said.
Xia Yu looked up with a worried look on her face. "You need to be careful. Isn't your fingers important? How are you going to play your guitar if your hands are injured?"
Huo Yun Chen is a singer and he mostly played guitar. If something happened to his beautiful fingers, then what was she supposed to do?
His heart warmed upon seeing her concern. "Un. I know. I'll be careful from now on." He leaned over to peck on her forehead. "Let's just go and eat the noodles before they get soggy, alright?"
Xia Yu stared at his fingers for a while and finally nodded.
