Chapter .413

It was a few days after we expanded TinaWood that I found myself in a familiar parlor room during my sleep. With me were naturally Alice and Lua, but this time, we had a first time visitor to this place.

“... Brian. Where are we?” Wilma asked.

“The System parlor. At least that is what I call this place.”

“... that doesn’t really answer anything. And why are we here?”

“Because the Goddess wants to tell us something. Just come here and take a seat. Someone will be here soon to explain everything.” I told her, as I pulled a chair out for Alice and Lua so they could sit at the circular table.

I then helped Wilma to the table before taking a seat myself.

Soon enough, our usual agent appeared in the room.

“Good night to you all. Holder Wilhelmina, welcome. My name is Aulis and I am the System agent responsible for Holder Brian and his companions.” Aulis introduced himself to Wilma.

“A System agent? What is that?” Wilma asked.

“Basically an angel.” I answered on Aulis’ behalf. “The beings the church calls angels are really just System agents, who in truth are old System Supports that were taken back into the System after the passing of their holder.”

“... I see…”

“So Aulis, what is it this time? Another fissure?” I asked.

“Yes. Two of them. But I also have a few other things.” He began. “Firstly, we will be sending Holder Wilhelmina her first missions and I wanted to ask, does she want to fight the fissures with you?”

“I … Yes. I want to keep the world safe.” Wilma answered.

“Good. Then I shall extend the mission of assisting Holder Brian to you as well.” Aulis said. “Other than that, we would like for you to finish Brian’s sword. That shall be your other mission.”

“Is it really that important that you have to give a mission for it?” I asked.

“You yourself have had missions with far less importance.” Aulis pointed out.

“... can’t really argue with that.” I admitted, recalling some of my early missions.

“We will also send another one for you to take part in the weapons show happening soon. Your reward will depend on the position you get.” Aulis continued.

“Eh? I was going to take part anyway.” Wilma said.

“You can look at these missions as your first step into really being a System Support holder. I hope you will accomplish them to the best of your abilities.”

“Yes. I will.”

After that, we talked a bit more, mostly about where the fissures would appear. They were somewhat of a problem, as both would appear in the south, far enough to where we would actually be in the territory of the Crystal Empire.

One was luckily in the middle of nowhere, so no one would see us, but the other was somewhat close to a city, and by somewhat I mean we would still be over 10 kilometers away from the city walls, but it is still close enough where they will likely feel the effects of the battle and maybe even see something.

So we will definitely have to get in contact with someone in that city to warn them about what is happening. It will be a pain as I don’t really carry any authority that the Empire would acknowledge, but we will make it happen.

And if they don’t listen to us, I’ll just put up a barrier around the city and kill whatever pops out from the fissure.

Waking up in the morning, I knew this would be a busy day. Of course I did all my normal morning things like personal hygiene, followed by some running, saying good morning to Glad and Rani and so on. And that is all before breakfast.

After breakfast, I jumped into Victory Viper and flew towards the target areas.

[collapse]

No, I wasn’t doing anything crazy, I was just mapping the areas. While yes Aulis did tell us the general location, I want the detailed maps so that we can plan for everything better.

After I had mapped everything, I returned to HomeBase so we could come up with a plan.

“Okay. So the main problem is that without our involvement, both of those fissures will pop on the same day.” I started. “So instead, we will pop one of them, the one in the middle of nowhere, a day before. Ria will be the main fighting force against whatever appears from that fissure, in hopes of her getting the Limit Break skill. Lua, Wilma, you two will be on stand-by if she needs help.”

“Alice. I want you, and whoever you want to take, to head to the Crystal Empire city near the second fissure. Explain things to them and try to get their cooperation. I asked Prince Elias for a letter of introduction so you can use that and if necessary, reveal your status.”

“... Why do I get the boring job?” Alice jokingly complained.

“You are the one of us that is also a noble.” I pointed out, though Alice being the daughter of a noble doesn’t technically make her a noble. But having that relationship does give her a bit more authority. The much bigger factor is the letter of introductions.

“I really wanted to control Exodia. Why do the divine sleeves have to be limited to you?”

“Because I’m the founder of HomeBase. Sadly the divine sleeves pull power from the core, so only my terminal duel disk can use them.” I reminded her. “Agunan probably could as well, but he doesn’t have, and can’t have, Card Summoner.”

“Are we even sure the divine sleeves need Card Summoner?” Lua asked. “Aren’t they made by HomeBase and not your skill?”

“No. They are made by Pack Opener, but it does use HomeBase resources, mainly creation energy.” I corrected. “And I just always assumed they follow the same rules as regular cards, so I never had Agunan test one. And even if he could use a monster in a divine sleeve because he is the dungeon master, he still can’t summon Exodia because his terminal can’t turn into a duel disk.”

“You need to look into upgrading it.” Lua said. “We might eventually need multiple Exodia at the same time.”

“Yeah, I know. It isn’t like Laura doesn’t work on an alternative to Exodia each night. It is just …”

“Way too difficult.” Alice ended my sentence for me.

“Exactly.” I agreed. “But with the dimensional telescope data coming in, we are making headway. So I think there's a chance.”

“... how does that help?” Wilma asked.

“We can see how the dimensional barriers are constructed. I’ll show you. Dungeon Founder, open.” I opened up my skill and then displayed some of my memories.

I showed Wilma what I’ve seen when I used the telescope to look over the dimensional barrier.

“See that part there.” I pointed out as I paused the playing memory. “That different looking patch right there is a spot Exodia fixed.”

I then played the memory forward a bit, until I reached the time I was looking at the Alewatch fissure. Well, where it had been.

“This part on the other hand was fixed with a gift I received from the Goddess. As you can see, it is completely different from the way Exodia fixed the dimensional barrier.”

“So because you know your cards can’t do either, you are trying to mix the two ways?” Wilma guessed.

“Exactly. My cards, other than Exodia, can’t directly use either way of repairing fissures. But if we combine the two, we might have something achievable.”

With our basic battle plan for the fissures made, I was once again back to my usual daily grind. Which in this case meant leveling up everyone. I won’t go over their statuses here as nothing that important happened.

Well, nothing that important happened with most, but there were two exceptions. First, Jenna. She got her first level ups today. I didn’t actually level her up, but Alice did, so I don’t even know Jenna’s status. Well, I do know what it was back when the entire fusion with Fire Sorceress happened, but other than that, I don’t know how Alice is leveling her up.

And yes, Alice has been trying to talk Jenna into re-fusing with Fire Sorceress, this time permanently. Jenna already serves Alice so if Alice performs the fusion, there should be no conflict of interest problems like there were back when I tried it.

I won’t say no, but I also won’t force Jenna into the fusion. I’ll just let it be and see how it ends up.

The other special case is Paulina. She reached level 80 and began to evolve, so we put her into an evolution tank so she could evolve in the best conditions.

And I do have to say, I’m kind of interested in what she will evolve into. The most obvious option is Sorceress, but I’m honestly not sure. Maybe there is something else she can evolve into because of her dual attributes?

Lastly, I decided to open up some packs, because it has been a few days. Ten each of Strike of Neos and Force of the Breaker.

Spoiler

STON 1

Synthesis Spell, The Six Samurai - Nisashi, Return of the Six Samurai, Umbral Soul, Marionette Mite, Kahkki, Guerilla of Dark World, The Six Samurai - Kamon, Raging Earth, D.D. Crow

[collapse]

Okay. Starting off good with a card I didn’t have. D.D. Crow might not be the best, but I’ll take it. Well it is actually quite good in the actual card game, but for me, not all that useful. I should be able to use its effect to ‘banish’ dead bodies, but that isn’t all that necessary.

Next pack.

Spoiler

STON 2

Change of Hero - Reflector Ray, Advanced Ritual Art, Gren, Tactician of Dark World, Legendary Ebon Steed, Alien Psychic, The Six Samurai - Irou, Firestorm Prominence, Puppet Plant, Hero Medal

[collapse]

Again, something I didn’t have. Firestorm Prominence is I think the last of the level 7 attribute Reptiles in this set that I don’t have. And like the other 5, it isn’t bad at all.

Also, Legendary Ebon Steed is a great reminder that I wanted to see if I can use it to make some horse armor for Rani and Glad. Maybe I can ride Glad into battle against the next fissure.

Next pack.

Spoiler

STON 3

Silent Abyss, Shien's Footsoldier, Destruction Cyclone, Return of the Six Samurai, Radiant Spirit, Shien's Castle of Mist, Change of Hero - Reflector Ray, The Six Samurai - Yaichi, Eliminating the League

[collapse]

Okay. Nothing new here.

Next pack.

Spoiler

STON 4

Firestorm Prominence, Anti-Fusion Device, Shien's Footsoldier, The Six Samurai - Zanji, Puppet Plant, Marionette Mite, Swift Samurai Storm!, Reign-Beaux, Overlord of Dark World, Frostosaurus

[collapse]

Okay. Well that is three new cards. Swift Samurai Storm! isn’t all that good, even if I summoned many Six Samurai monsters, so it will probably never see use.

Frostosaurus is a cool dinosaur, pun intended. Sadly it is just a big vanilla, so it isn’t all that amazing. It would be a nice companion to someone who uses ice magic though.

But Reign-Beaux is just … I would call it nice, but considering how he looks, I might never use him. At least in front of people. He just looks like an archdemon. But he is strong and if I ever end up using the Dark World archetype, I’ll probably use him.

Next pack.

Spoiler

STON 5

Silent Abyss, The Six Samurai - Zanji, Sage of Stillness, Return of the Six Samurai, Lycanthrope, Destruction Cyclone, Marionette Mite, Neo-Spacian Glow Moss, Hero Medal

[collapse]

Glow Moss is new, so that is good. My Neo-Spacian collection is growing.

Next pack.

Spoiler

STON 6

Shien's Castle of Mist, Ritual Sealing, "A" Cell Scatter Burst, Shien's Footsoldier, Return of the Six Samurai, Neo-Spacian Glow Moss, Gren, Tactician of Dark World, Cloak and Dagger, Elemental HERO Air Neos

[collapse]

Again, new stuff. And it is more Neos stuff. This time the ‘banned’ fusion of Air Neos.

… and for those that don’t know, there are a lot of reasons why Air Neos is sometimes jokingly called ‘banned’. It is because it has never been printed outside of Strike of Neos.

The real reason for it isn’t known/hasn’t been revealed, but there are theories.

One involves a company called ‘Neos Air’. Others say it is because of copyright of the image, because it apparently comes directly from the anime, and there may have been some sort of a disagreement between Konami and the anime artist. Third is Air Neos being too similar to some other Japanese superhero.

But I don’t know what the real reason is, and it really doesn’t matter to me in the first place.

Besides, Air Neos is actually pretty good, especially against SS-rank monsters. Gaining attack points equal to the difference between the summoners and the opponents HP means that against powerful monsters, like SS-ranks, Air Neos will hit stupidly hard.

So yeah. It is good to have an Air Neos in my collection.

Next Pack.

Spoiler

STON 7

Swift Samurai Storm!, Firestorm Prominence, Alien Psychic, Cu Chulainn the Awakened, Neo-Spacian Glow Moss, Return of the Six Samurai, Marionette Mite, The Six Samurai - Zanji, Eliminating the League

[collapse]

Okay. Nothing new here.

Next pack.

Spoiler

STON 8

The Six Samurai - Nisashi, Radiant Spirit, The Six Samurai - Irou, Ritual Sealing, Anti-Fusion Device, The Six Samurai - Kamon, Raging Earth, Marionette Mite, Eliminating the League

[collapse]

Nothing new.

Next pack.

Spoiler

STON 9

Electric Virus, Umbral Soul, Shien's Castle of Mist, Synthesis Spell, Lycanthrope, Destruction Cyclone, Puppet Plant, Advanced Ritual Art, Spiral Serpent

[collapse]

Spiral Serpent is new. Yes it is another big vanilla, but at least it is a water based monster, so that is nice. I don’t have all that many of them.

Next pack.

Spoiler

STON 10

The Six Samurai - Irou, The Six Samurai - Yariza, Advanced Ritual Art, Umbral Soul, Radiant Spirit, Legendary Ebon Steed, Cu Chulainn the Awakened, Neo-Spacian Glow Moss, Frostosaurus

[collapse]

And last pack of Strike of Neos had nothing new. Time for Force of the Breaker.

Spoiler

FOTB 1

Terrible Deal, Seismic Crasher, Breakthrough!, Crystal Beast Amethyst Cat, Crystal Beast Emerald Tortoise, Volcanic Scattershot, Backs to the Wall, Hard-sellin' Zombie, Warrior of Atlantis

[collapse]

Again, starting off with a new card. Warrior of Atlantis. It is … nice, I suppose. The effect is decent and the stats it has are also nice.

Next pack.

Spoiler

FOTB 2

Crystal Beast Ruby Carbuncle, Hard-sellin' Zombie, Dweller in the Depths, Otherworld - The "A" Zone, Crystal Beast Amethyst Cat, Blaze Accelerator, Volcanic Scattershot, Diabolos, King of the Abyss, Harpie Queen

[collapse]

Otherworld - The "A" Zone is … a card that I now have. Why are so many of the cards from this era just ‘opponent’s monster loses 300 attack when it attacks’. They are so useless. At least be a somewhat significant amount like 1000.

Harpie Queen is something I didn’t yet have, so it is nice to have. Just have to keep her away from Fantasia so she doesn’t try to imitate the Queen’s outfit.

And Diabolos looks amazing. He does look a bit scary, but so do all dragons. … okay, most dragons. Some look really friendly.

Next pack.

Spoiler

FOTB 3

Crystal Raigeki, Hard-sellin' Zombie, Mass Hypnosis, Gravi-Crush Dragon, Crystal Beast Amber Mammoth, Terrible Deal, Crystal Promise, Seismic Crasher, Warrior of Atlantis

[collapse]

Amber Mammoth is new, so that is nice. I think the only Crystal Beasts I now lack are Sapphire Pegasus and Topaz Tiger. And Rainbow Dragon of course.

Next pack.

Spoiler

FOTB 4

Volcanic Blaster, Crystal Beast Amber Mammoth, Crystal Abundance, Crystal Beast Emerald Tortoise, Terrible Deal, Crystal Blessing, Crystal Beast Amethyst Cat, Mei-Kou, Master of Barriers, Ancient City - Rainbow Ruins

[collapse]

Oh? Rainbow Ruins. That’s nice. Now I can have a Rainbow Ruins room in the Factory.

… and I just realized something. Because my duel disk has the Arc-V style light blade on top of the regular duel disk, I can summon up to 10 monsters at the same time. So I can summon every Crystal Beast at the same time. Well, I have to get them all first, but I can do it.

Let’s hope I get the last two in the coming packs.

Spoiler

FOTB 5

Backs to the Wall, Field Barrier, Blaze Accelerator, Volcanic Hammerer, Introduction to Gallantry, Hard-sellin' Goblin, Crystal Raigeki, Gem Flash Energy, Archfiend General

[collapse]

Archfiend General is new, but sadly it is a fiend, so … I really need to look into explaining how my skill works, just so I can start using Fiends. They are actually really good, and they aren’t demonic in any way. Well they are, but you don’t have to sacrifice your soul to summon one.

I’ll worry about that later. For now, I’ll worry about what is in the next pack.

Spoiler

FOTB 6

Seismic Crasher, Blaze Accelerator, Volcanic Scattershot, Dweller in the Depths, Crystal Beast Emerald Tortoise, "A" Cell Breeding Device, Gem Flash Energy, Volcanic Blaster, Volcanic Shell

[collapse]

Nothing new here. Next pack.

Spoiler

FOTB 7

Crystal Blessing, "A" Cell Breeding Device, Crystal Abundance, Breakthrough!, Crystal Beacon, Crystal Beast Cobalt Eagle, Crystal Beast Emerald Tortoise, Magna-Slash Dragon, Triggered Summon

[collapse]

Again, nothing new. Next pack.

Spoiler

FOTB 8

Crystal Raigeki, Hard-sellin' Goblin, Crystal Beast Emerald Tortoise, Seismic Crasher, Crystal Abundance, Terrible Deal, Dweller in the Depths, Volcanic Slicer, Sky Scourge Enrise

[collapse]

Well, Enrise is a super rare and I don’t have it yet, so that is nice. Not sure if Enrise is better than Invicil, but a super rare is a super rare.

Next pack.

Spoiler

FOTB 9

Dweller in the Depths, Last Resort, Breakthrough!, Gem Flash Energy, Terrible Deal, Seismic Crasher, Volcanic Recharge, Crystal Beast Topaz Tiger, Sky Scourge Norleras

[collapse]

Okay. Got another Sky Scourge, Norleras this time. … sadly like the other two I have, it isn’t all that good.

But there is also the Topaz Tiger and I needed it for my Crystal Beast collection, so that one is great.

One last pack. Maybe I can get that Sapphire Pegasus to complete my Crystal Beast collection.

Spoiler

FOTB 10

Introduction to Gallantry, Seismic Crasher, Crystal Promise, Crystal Blessing, Gem Flash Energy, Mei-Kou, Master of Barriers, Terrible Deal, Triggered Summon, Sky Scourge Norleras

[collapse]

Nope. Just got another Norleras. I also somehow got three super rares in a row, so … lucky?

Well, overall I was pretty lucky. I got some nice stuff and filling out the collection is always nice.
