"..." Lu Chen heard it. But he didn't look back. Instead, he only placed his hand out the window and gave a light wave.
Shang Mingtao made a bigger smile as he saw it.
Leaving the area, Lu Chen turned to Han Meng, "You said something to him, didn't you?"
Han Meng played coy, "I did nothing of the sort. Just talked with him."
"That's doing something."
But Han Meng retorted, "You could have been kinder to the kid."
"Shang Mingtao should stay away from me." Those harsh words Lu Chen had said to Shang Mingtao weren't only for him. It was a reminder to himself too. He wanted to deal with the Liao family. But he got someone innocent involved in the process.
This should not have happened. Everything had been smooth sailing for Lu Chen these last few months. There were ups and downs, but he would power through.
Besides Feng Meifeng, this was the second.
Seeing the expression on Lu Chen's face, Han Meng sighed, "But I'm curious, though; why did you want to save the kid? You've only met him for 2 hours!" He heard about it from Shang Mingtao.
So Han Meng found it odd.
Lu Chen wryly smiled as he explained, "Would you believe me if I said that the boy would become a genius in a few years?"
"Huh? That crybaby?!" Han Meng looked at him in shock. How will that kid become a genius?! He didn't see the genius in him. The only thing he saw was Shang Mingtao crying like a brat.
Lu Chen said nothing anymore as he stayed silent. Han Meng asked,
"What's in the suitcase?" He noticed the two suitcases he had brought with him to the car.
"Oh, it's filled with money. One is for you, and the other is for me." Lu Chen explained.
"Huh?!" Han Meng opened the case and found a lot of cash in it. But instead of being surprised, he frowned, "Is that really it?"
"Yeah." Lu Chen frowned. He still ffelt salty that they hired assassins with this much. But Han Meng shook his head,
"No way! It shouldn't be this much. Check the guy's phone. This might be a first pay or something."
"I have it here." Lu Chen handed the phone to Han Meng, "But I don't know the password."
"I'll have my guy hack into it." Han Meng said. If the dude could hack into every camera inside the abandoned factory, then it was a piece of cake to unlock a phone.
"Alright. Also, you should tell the guy to never watch my fight again." Lu Chen said with a dark expression.
"..." Han Meng paused and frowned, "He was watching you fight?"
"Yeah." That was why Lu Chen looked at the camera. He realized Han Meng's friend was monitoring his fight with Greed Viper.
Han Meng grabbed his head, "Sorry about that. I'll scold him later when I get back home."
"No. There's no need for you to do that." Lu Chen smirked as he continued, "If he helps us out on something, then I will overlook what he did."
"Where still not done?"
"Of course not. We dealt with all the problems. But we haven't dealt with the source. It's time for us to have some fun." Lu Chen said with a vicious smile.
A smile formed on Han Meng's face, "What do we need to do?"
