Chapter 609: Kinda Forgot About Him
Lu Chen roared in his mind, cursing Huang Muyang for saying something like that! He knew Huang Muyang said this to hide it from Bai Geming. But there were consequences to what he said.
The moment the four left his office, Kang Shuchun smiled. And it was the start of her questioning!
"Shuchun, couldn't you hide your bloodlust?" Lu Chen sighed as he said this. He could feel it. Kang Shuchun's bloodlust rose when Bai Geming talked. But Kang Shuchun pouted,
"That's because he tried to threaten the young master." Kang Shuchun explained.
"He was testing me." Bai Geming was trying to test him, trying to make him crack.
"Still don't trust him."
"..." And don't get me started on Elder Huang. Kang Shuchun's bloodlust went up by a notch the moment Huang Muyang talked.
"So this is why Huang Muyang said all that. right, young master?" Kang Shuchun picked up the jade and stared at it.
"Relax, Shuchun, Elder Huang was joking. There is no way Huang Muyang would have a thing for me." She probably has a thing for Long Shen or something.
That would have been more likely.
"Her compliance might not be necessary." Kang Shuchun had a dead-pan expression. The only thing that mattered might be to get new genes into the family.
And Lu Chen was the perfect target. He had the looks, strength, and smarts. He would be a great son-in-law.
Those were red alarms going through Kang Shuchun's mind.
"I'm pretty sure Elder Huang wouldn't do something like that." With how much he kept doting on Huang Mingyue, there was no way he would do anything like that.
"..." Kang Shuchun stared at Lu Chen. But then she sighed, "Young master is...fine." She gave up. But then she asked, "But are you sure the only thing you wanted was a favor?"
With how serious Bai Geming sounded, Lu Chen could have asked for more, and Bai Geming would have complied.
Lu Chen shook his head, "I could. But this was all I needed. It's actually more than what I asked for." A smirk formed on his face. That request was something that no money could buy.
A request from Bai Geming, the head of the Bai family. That meant he would have the Bai family's power. That was more than enough.
It was a one-time lifeline.
"But young master, what did you do with Liao Yan?" Kang Shuchun was curious as to where he had Liao Yan.
"I dumped him inside an abandoned factory."
"For a month now?"
"Mmhmm." Lu Chen shrugged his shoulders. He didn't know what had happened to him. After he threw him into the pit, there was nothing to talk about.
I kinda forgot about him. Lu Chen would not lie. With how long he left him there, Liao Yan wasn't in his mind.
I should call Han Meng to see how he's doing. Lu Chen looked down at his phone and called Han Meng,
"What's up, little brother?" Han Meng was cheerful as he answered Lu Chen.
"Brother Han, do you know what happened to Liao Yan?"
"No, what about him?" Han Meng answered with a clueless question. Lu Chen's eyes widened, "Wait a minute, you don't know what happened?"
"Nope."
