Chapter 679: Rely On You
"That damn old geezer." Lu Chen cursed. His expression contorted as he remembered what had happened. What was Elder Bai thinking when he paired me with her! He was trying to mess with him.
"Bai Geming seemed to want to get closer to you." Elder Wu voiced out the thought Lu Chen didn't want to say. Bai Xiaoqing was the other representative; it was easy to understand Bai Geming's intentions.
But this is a surprise. Elder Wu was surprised Bai Geming would be so straightforward with his intentions.
Lu Chen sighed, "I guess. But that guy is doing it to piss me off more." He could imagine it now. Bai Geming was probably laughing at how he had acted before.
But it's worth it. Lu Chen knew losing a bit of his sanity was enough to save his family. After finishing the negotiations, the expression on Lu Xiaotong was bright. He was so happy with the new contract.
But,
That damn old geezer! The only thing he couldn't stand was Bai Geming having the upper hand. The expression Bai Geming had when Lu Chen agreed was enough. It was as if he had won it all. If Lu Xiaotong and Lu Aotian weren't there, Lu Chen might have punched him!
I got to get back at him for this!
There was no way he was going to let this go. As he thought about getting revenge, he didn't notice the dark expression Kang Shuchun had.
Dammit! Does this mean the Bai family is sinking their claws into the young master?! She foresaw this happening after what had happened at the party. That video of Huang Muyang and Bai Geming asking Lu Chen to be their grandson-in-law spread crazily. That put her on red alert.
And what made it even worse was Bai Xiaoqing and Huang Mingyue. The two's beauty was on par with hers!
Will I have to take them out? But If I do, the young master would be in danger?! This was a predicament. Kang Shuchun had enough problems dealing with Ye Meixiu. She didn't need two more entering this battlefield!
"Shuchun?"
"Yes, Young Master?" Kang Shuchun looked at Lu Chen. Her expression changed to a bright one.
"Because I have to work on the project with the Bai family, I will have to leave most of our project to you." Lu Chen had a wry smile as he said this. If he had to help with the project, more work would fall on others in ARCS.
Kang Shuchun shook her head, "Don't worry, Young Master. I will get it done to the utmost perfection!"
"Thank you. And don't worry, Duan Huiling will be there to help as well." Lu Chen smiled. He felt a lot better. With Duan Huiling and Kang Shuchun working together, it brought him relief.
