Chapter 701: Yah Bastards!
"What did you say?!" Fu Changding cracked his knuckles as he continued to glare at Xie Lei. Those were some fighting words. And he wasn't alone, as the people who followed Lu Chen and Fu Changding were ready to brawl.
They weren't the only ones. Xie Lei and his men were ready to fight too. But Lu Chen raised his hand, "Fu Changding, stand down."
"Young Master." Fu Changding stared at Lu Chen, feeling reluctant. They talked down to Lu Chen. How dare they do this?! Lu Chen shook his head, "We came here to work together, not to fight." If they fought, their relationship was over.
Hearing this, Fu Changding had to stand down. But the glare didn't leave as he stared at Xie Lei.
Lu Chen sighed. Thank goodness.
While Lu Chen sighed in relief, Bai Xiaoqing glared at Xie Lei, "Xie Lei, apologize to the young master! We are here to work with them, not to cause trouble!"
Xie Lei had a dark look as he stared at Lu Chen. In the end, "I'm sorry, Young Master Lu."
"Mmhmm." Lu Chen waved his hand. The pressure still hasn't left. Even though the situation was done, the tension was still there. Both groups were ready to fight.
Just one tiny thing was enough to cause everyone to blow up. Lu Chen glanced at Bai Xiaoqing. The latter understood the situation as well. Lu Chen decided, "Let's get down to business."
Bai Xiaoqing nodded, "Indeed." The best thing to do was to keep the ball rolling. She turned to one of her men. He nodded as he brought a folder to him.
Lu Chen opened the folder and looked through it, "Good job getting the permits in order."
"Of course. If we didn't, we couldn't start the construction process." The permits were the items that took a long time to obtain. They could start the construction process as soon as possible.
Lu Chen nodded, "What about the materials and costs?"
"Next page." Bai Xiaoqing said. Lu Chen turned to the next page and looked through it. Both parties were serious, waiting for each one to respond.
Lu Chen closed the booklet. A smile formed on his face, "As expected of the Bai family. Everything is fair."
Bai Xiaoqing smiled back, "Thank you."
Lu Chen turned to Fu Changding, "Changding. Here is the design they want. Read it over and bring more men over on the day of construction."
"Understood, young master." Fu Changding nodded as he held the folder.
"We'll bring the materials and gear in a few days." Lu Chen said. This was only to talk and get everything sorted out.
"Alright. I think we're done here." Lu Chen clapped his hands, signaling the end of their work. Bai Xiaoqing nodded. As everyone got up to leave, Bai Xiaoqing asked,
"Lu Chen, can you stay for a bit?"
"Hmm, what's the matter?"
"Nothing. I want to talk to you."
"..." Lu Chen frowned, "Sorry. But-" Before Lu Chen could say anything, Fu Changding quickly said, "Young Master, have fun. We will notify the CEO about you not returning!"
The other workers nodded their heads. They quickly followed Fu Changding and left Lu Chen there.
"..." Yah bastards!
