RX-0 Unicorn Gundam.

A product born from Anaheim Electronic's efforts. It is constantly powered by "Minovsky Particles" which are continuously active under a compact fusion reactor. In a sense, it is a source of unlimited electricity. Coupled with the Psycho-frame that allowed the pilot to move a Gundam through their thoughts, it became the cutting-edge Gundam on UC 096. It evenly fought Sinanju which was piloted by Char Aznable himself.

It has a history of blocking an entire Colony Laser and surviving. One has to know that the attack itself can wipe out planets and obviously, colonies.

On the other hand, Gundam Exia.

While its performance is underwhelming compared to the Unicorn Gundam, its advanced form, GN-00 Qan[T], can enter a very special state called "Quantum Burst Mode". Simply put, it can let out an attacking output that would rival Unicorn's. Not only that, its overall capabilities would far surpass what a "Psychic Machine God" such as Unicorn can do.

However, what made the difference between them is the GN Particles. Unlike Minovsky Particles, it has more extensive properties that would allow even Exia to fight slightly well against Unicorn's Destroy Mode...

BAM-!

...such as now.

By utilizing the energy gathered from its fall, Exia managed to push Unicorn down to a certain degree. This is considering that Unicorn is already in its Destroy Mode. It could not simply react to the mecha that suddenly came out of nowhere.

Unfortunately, Exia's advantage came to an end after that. As soon as the pilot realized, he utilized the Psycho-frame to instantly appear behind Exia's back.

Bam-!

The GN Shield was used to block the blow, sending it away from its previous position. A wave of green particles left a trail in the air. It formed a contrast to the blue thrusters that Unicorn had been using to fly in the stratosphere.

'It is different that what I know.' The pilot, Shiro, thought. 'Unicorn can't fly in its original setting. It is a mech made to fight in zero-g environments, so how the hell can it do so here..?'

The answer soon came to his mind: Altair. With her powers, it is not surprising that a modified version of Unicorn would appear. Even if it suddenly has the capabilities to rival Turn A, a monstrous Gundam, it would still make sense.

Activating the Trans-am system, Exia's exterior became red. The GN Particles also turned red at this time, boosting its overall performance by a few notches. Though, it could only last for half a minute at best.

"It's good that I'm not alone."

Suddenly, a strong shock wave passed by Unicorn's previous position. It reappeared in front of Gigas Machina, only to be blocked by its Reflector Field. With that, Unicorn could not do anything despite its tremendous specs.

Swooosh-!

Exia's GN Sword in its right arm went through the afterimage of Unicorn. It then grappled Exia's right arm, but the latter managed to slip through thanks to the Trans-am. It fired a wave of beams from its Vulcan, briefly distracting Unicorn. What it didn't know is that a right hook is approaching its left torso.

BAM-!

The attack connected, sending Unicorn away with that blast. As Gigas Machina has Unicorn's specialty—the ability to pilot a mech using one's mind—its movements are just as flexible as it. Except for the Destroy Mode, it shares many similarities with it.

After this, Shiro opened Exia's public channel.

"Banagher Links. Why are you—"

"Hah?! Who's Banagher Links?! You've got the wrong person!"

He was stumped upon knowing that Unicorn's pilot is not who he expected to be.

"Hey. Gundam-san. I think... that's probably me."

"You? What do you..." Shiro cut off his words as he continued, "Is it your mirror image? A doppelganger? A clone?"

Currently, he is using a different voice to conceal his identity. As for who it is, he chose Exia's original pilot, Setsuna F. Seiei. If not for the situation that he's in, he would have laughed after being called "Gundam-san". This is literally what Setsuna's "I am Gundam" means!

With the mark on its head, Kanoya identified the name of the mech that suddenly appeared in this place.

"From what I know, there's someone who could process an exact mirror image of her target. It's just that... I don't know why, but that thing appeared instead of my mech."

'Right.'

Shiro recalled the dozens of videos that he went through in the past few months. While doing so, he found out that some of Altair's exhibited abilities such as her power to nullify other powers, her precise manipulation of swords, and many more. Each video corresponded to a power of hers. After seeing that she has nearly hundreds of videos on that site alone, it means that she has a corresponding amount of power.

Anyways, one of the clips that he watched is Altair duplicating a teddy bear into two. There's also another one in which he manifested an item straight out of a book. If this were to be matched, it perfectly explains the current situation now.

'Just how broken can she get?' He mused before deciding on his action. 'If we don't finish this off after trans-am ends, I might be forced to use my power again... The world already has an inherent dislike towards it, so it'll be harder to conceal myself, unlike last time.'

Every time he shows up, he uses a portion of his [Lord of the Mysteries] to conceal every single bit of information on him. The rest then goes to his usual combat power. While he did not sustain any injuries or exhaustion thanks to his materialized soul, the restorative force became more used to his powers. At this point, only Fenrir's [Armament Convergence] is still kept under the rag. Due to that reason, it'll become harder and harder for him to exert his powers without revealing his identity.

It would be a different case if it's inside the "Birdcage" where fiction and reality converge. Since it is "fictitious", the restorative force won't take into effect at that place. There, the final result of this mission would be determined.

"Alright. We need to coordinate our attacks. We will focus on a single time to incapacitate him."

"Understood!"

Just as they are about to attack, they saw the Unicorn Gundam retreat. It is extremely swift due to its Destroy Mode, hence they could not intercept.

"It made a rational choice." Shiro murmured.

Now that he's here, it could forget its main objective—to kill Kanoya Rui. If seen from a standpoint, their enemy, Altair, had done this to reduce the potential risks for her plans. Even though she is strong enough to overpower all of them, she has a different approach to things. She does not have blind confidence but chose to approach things thoughtfully.

Right now, she acts more similarly to Caster Gilgamesh.

"Wait, mister! Are... are you from that man's side?" Kanoya asked while ignoring his painful body.

"...That's right. I am from 'their' side."

"You can join our side. We can still put in extra revisions for your team!"

"There's no need." Shiro replied. "The main reason why we hid is to catch 'her' off guard. With 'his' powers, we are currently concealed from this world."

Shiro decided to create a brief backstory at this moment. This would better explain the appearance of others such as Touka and Shinji. There's also a chance to use his clones, which is why he's establishing a third group led by the man in a black robe.

"Rest assured. We would appear in the final battle. Feel free to pass these words."

"Alright. But... why did you save me?" Kanoya asked.

"Let's say that you have reminded me of someone."

Whenever he saw Kanoya, he was reminded of Shinji. Both of them are almost the sage age and there are many similarities in how they act, especially their reliability when it comes to serious situations.

With that, Shiro left just as his trans-am was deactivated.
