Nirra and Ellie left their house when the sun was setting. They had found Ameria, who was sitting on a bar stool with a drink in hand, waiting for them.

"Ah, you have arrived. Are you both ready for our little expedition?" Ameria said as she stood up from the bar stool and left the payment for her drink.

"Yep, we're ready; Nirra here just needed a bit of time preparing her weapon." Ellie then pointed at Nirra. The latter was examining her firearm for any last-minute checks.

"What?" She said this, looking at the two.

"Mofu~" The vulpen fox then nuzzled his head onto Nirra's and returned to his lazy position on her shoulder. Nirra then slowly patted his head and thought about what Mofu finds to be his favorite food. She'll have to find out once they return home.

"Alright, let's get going then." Ameria then led the way outside the guild.

By the time they left town, the sun had already set and darkness covered the land. The cold wind blew against their bodies as they walked up north to find out why the monsters were running away from the Northwood forest.

"Achoo!" Ellie let out a cold sneeze as they paced toward the forest. Nirra then gave Ellie a coat so she could stay warm. As for Nirra, though, she was wearing a black tunic along with leather shoulder plates, which the vulpen on her shoulder found comfy.

Ameria, who was in front of the twins, then raised her hand while she gazed at the forest that was in front of them.

"What is it, Lady Ameria?" Nirra said as she walked up to her.

"I feel a very dark and evil mana that is coming from the center of the forest. I think we have found the reason why monsters are coming out of this forest and invading nearby forests." Ameria said as she gazed down the dark forest with her enhanced eleven eyesight, which was much more capable than those of a human.

"Weapons out, you two. Remain vigilant because the source could likely be very dangerous." She said this while she pulled her golden bow, which gleamed a little gold, along with revealing her quiver.

The twins pulled out their weapons; Ellie unsheathed her sabre as Nirra held her rifle. The latter started loading her rifle with ammunition. Ameria looked back at the twins to see what they were doing, and she got a nod from the two, confirming that they were ready. Mofu jumped down from Nirra's shoulder as his secondary colors changed from blue to black.

The group then entered the forest. It felt very eerie because the normal sounds of the forest, like birds chirping or the sound of bushes rattling from the movement of small creatures, couldn't be heard. They paced around the forest slowly. Ameria already had her bow drawn in case of any surprises.

As they slowly walked around, they noticed that the atmosphere only grew darker and darker the closer they were to the center. The twins followed Ameria, who was using her magical senses to track the source of the evil energy. Ellie was getting really scared because she doesn't fit well in eerie and scary places.

They suddenly heard murmuring, which caused Ellie to slightly jolt. Ameria and Nirra then saw something glowing blood red in the distance. As they approached it, they heard the murmurs that sounded more like chats grow louder and louder. When they peeked behind a bush, they saw something truly ominous.

Five people, all dressed in cloaks, were standing on the points of a five-point pentagram. In the center was a man who seemed to be opening the insides of a dead deer. The pentagram they were standing on was drawn using animal blood, according to Ameria, and the person who was standing in the center slowly stood up with his arms above his head.

"What are they doing?..." Ellie said as she grasped her blade tight.

"I wish I was wrong, but I think they're trying to summon the demon," Ameria said, which brought dread to the twins.

"You're bluffing, right? Please tell me you're bluffing," Ellie said in denial.

"Shhhh, they'll hear us," Nirra said as she looked at the group of hooded men and sighed that they were not noticed.

"We need to stop them before the ritual is completed. Nirra, position yourself adjacent to me; the both of us will pick off the farthest ones while Ellie takes out the closest. If we do this correctly, they will be surprised and start panicking." Ameria said as the twins nodded in agreement.

Nirra slowly positioned herself where Ameria had told her and aimed her rifle at the three men farthest from their position.

"Ready?" She heard Ameria and nodded.

"Now!"

Nirra let off a shot aimed at the farthest person from her position. She managed to hit the man in the head, which caused him to lay down dead on the ground with a hole in his head. The others were so startled by the initial sound of a firearm shooting that one did not see an arrow that was aimed at his position. Which caused two more to get killed. After pulling the lever on her rifle down and back up again, she let up another shot, which hit the one in the far left. Again, he lay motionless on the ground. Mofu then jumped from a bush in his big form and bit one of them in half. They followed the big fox and charged inside the circle as Ellie jumped up and whispered.

"Blade Ignition" Her sword burned brightly as fire consumed it. And swung it towards the person in the middle. But was met by an invisible reddish shield.

"You fools", the man said as he smirked under his cloak.

"You just finished the ceremony!" He shouted as the blood from the five dead men left their bodies and started to converge towards the center of the pentagram near the hooded man.

"No! Nirra Ellie, get away from there!" Ameria said, to which both complied and ran back towards Ameria's position.

A spark suddenly came out from underneath the man's feet as he giggled away while a torrent of flames burst forth from the pool of blood made from the blood of the men that they had killed. Something emerged from the torrent of flames: a man with blood-red skin, a handsome face complete with horns, and an accompanying tail. He wore something akin to that of a berserker, with a big, black twisted claymore that he carried behind his back along with a shirtless top The group looked on in dread at the figure as it looked first at Ameria, then Ellie, and lastly, Nirra. His eyes glowed a dark purplish color when he gazed at Nirra. He then started a full on sprint towards her position.
