After she heard the door to her room close with a click, Nirra assumed that her sister had already found the list of metals she had to buy from the market district. As she removed her clothes to take a shower, she had already thought of something to do while taking a break from building her new smithy.

The Grand Priest has already told her that she is free to visit the Grand Library, which is located right beside the cathedral. She doesn't need an escort to go there since the library is considered to be within cathedral grounds. So after he had finished wearing some more casual clothes, which consisted of a simple grey tunic tied with a brown belt, a black skirt with black knee-high socks, and black shoes.

After she got dressed, she left a slice of garlic bread for Mofu to munch on later, after the small fox had woken up. She then slowly closed the door behind her as not to wake him up.

Nirra backtracked all the way to the cathedral entrance. Along the way, some nuns and priest candidates greeted her. She asked one of them for directions, which she started to follow. The exit to her right leads to the main cathedral chamber, where prayers and masses would be held. There was a door right across from that, which led to a short hallway. Walking through the ornately decorated main cathedral room. Her eyes scanned the high ceiling, decorated with many pieces of art that depicted the hero with his five other companions on their journey to defeat the demon lord. Stained windows told the story of how the Church of the Holy One was established and how the legions of Paladins came to be. Her eyes darted back to her indignant course, which was a large hallway with windows and red curtains, complete with a red carpet.

After walking down the hallway, she arrived at a large double door decorated with the carvings of the church's crest, which, when opened, led to a huge room with bookshelves that reached four times the height of a normal human being. In front of her was a staircase that led to the visible second floor, with large windows that lined the walls near it. To her right was a front desk, and behind it was an old librarian who was busy reading a novel.

She approached the librarian and tapped the bell that was placed on her desk. When she heard the bell, the librarian slowly and shakily lowered the novel she was reading.

After which, she removed her classes and slowly placed them on the desk, and only then did she say, "Yes?"

Nirra ignored how slow her movements were and immediately went to the chase. "Good morning. I was wondering where I could find a book about the darkness attributed to elemental mana."

The old lady understood her question and slowly moved her body to pick up the map of the library. It was so huge that you needed a map to navigate around it. She then slid the map to Nirra and slowly said. "The book you are… looking for is located in… the… magical attributes… section…"

Nirra grabbed the map and thanked the old librarian. The latter slowly nodded as she wore her glasses again and picked up the novel she was reading. Nirra noticed she wasn't using a bookmarker, so she guessed she's so experienced with reading that she didn't need one.

She opened the map in her hands, which was small compared to maps of the city or country, but it was still impressive that a library was so huge that it needed a map to find its way. She found the Magical Attributes section, which was on the second floor. Deep inside the "L" section, she walked up the steps and into the second floor. After that, she scanned each section until she found herself deep into the bookshelf to find the 'L' section.

From there, she started scanning the books by the title on their side. Each one detailed each and every single attribute. From fire to water, even earth, lightning, frost, wind, and light. The fire and water attributes, being very common, had a large number of books regarding their uses.

After a couple of minutes more of searching, she eventually found what she was looking for. A book named Darkness: A dive into the mysterious and rare attribute. It was found right at the edge of the bookshelf. The book itself was rather thin compared to the other books in the library, only numbering up to page 200. Nevertheless, she took the book from the shelf and went to the reading area in the center of the floor. A couple of priests and nuns were also reading by the time she got there.

She found a seat in front of the window beside the staircase and started reading.

'This book is intended to inform the few lucky ones who have been attuned to the darkness or those who are curious about its history, uses, and skills.' It read, 'to begin, the darkness attribute elemental mana is not only mysterious but also very rare. Individuals only have a 1 in 2 milion chance to get such an attribute.'

Nirra skipped a few lines that detailed things she already knew about.

'This attribute could be traced at the beginning of everything. Where the goddess created our world with the other attributes, theories suggest that it has something to do with balancing out the light attribute, though we may never be able to know.'

She read through a few more pages that detailed the history of the attribute; she even noted some important figures, such as Schwarz, a member of the hero's party specializing in assassinations, recon, and scouting. He used the darkness attribute to blend into shadows, even creating clones to fool his enemies.

After reading past that, she finally found what she was looking for. The skills, how to manifest them, and how to use them.

The first one she came across was Shadow Storage. 'a useful skill to carry extra equipment, weapons, food, and even an interesting way to assassinate a person. Shadow Storage is perfect for those who want to carry more things but do not have the strength to carry extra bags. A different dimension exists to ours, the shadow realm, a realm that closely resembles our own but only the silhouettes of people and objects can be seen. Each darkness attribute individual has the ability to access this realm and even have a small invisible portion of it, a 'bubble', to follow them around. That bubble is what you need to access to use the shadow storage skill. You can open it by concentrating the darkness on the tips of your fingers, after which a small, viscous portal will appear that connects you to that bubble of the shadow realm. Note that the amount of mana available keeps that bubble from spewing out its contents into the real world. Be sure to never exhaust the elemental mana, which is a given because that means death, and also, the stronger your connection to the darkness mana, the more items you can store in the bubble.'

Nirra slowly lowered the book and looked at her hand. She held it out in front of her, closed her eyes, and focused all the darkness at her fingertips. She then felt something cover her fingers like a wet, viscous material, and when she opened her hands, her eyes widened at the small round portal that had completely engulfed her hand. It dimly glowed a purple light while swirling around her hand.

She immediately pulled it out when she heard someone slam their hands on the table. "NO PRACTICING MAGIC IN THE LIBRARY," a tall woman beside her shouted, dressed in a librarian's robes.

"I uhm… was just going to borrow this book…" Nirra said. She was visually shaken by the sudden act of that librarian.

The librarian let out a large sigh as she motioned for Nirra to come follow her to the front desk. There, she stamped a card with the book's name and the name of the borrower. She then gave Nirra the book.

"Please return this; you have at least a year to return it," she said in a low tone, but Nirra did not feel icy or cold at all.

Nirra nodded and exited the library with the librarian behind her, shaking her head. Embarrassed, Nirra quickly made her way back into her room, where she could practice her attribute a bit more.
