Stall Market (I)

The twelve cities under the control of the seven sects, three clans, and two academies, were all big cities of the Heavenly Realms.

This was also the case with Fengwu City.

With the city lord’s residence as the boundary, it was divided into two parts. The area where mortals were housed only occupied a small area of the eastern city, and most mortals would not step out of their small plot of land.

There had always been a clear distinction between mortals and immortals. Mortals had their own marketplace, while cultivators had their own as well. Thus, after dropping her parents off at the mortals’ marketplace early in the morning, Zheng Wan boarded a slugworm and headed for the western city—

Suyue Street, the most prosperous street in the whole of Fengwu City, was in the western city, and Seven Treasures Court was located on this Suyue Street.

"Zhenren, would you like a living map?"

Zheng Wan had just gotten off the slugworm when a round-eyed mortal child came up to her.

She looked at the long snot hanging from his nose and couldn't resist casting a cleansing arts she had just learned last night on him. “What living map? How much is it?”

"Just fifty Yuan beads will do."

The child carefully took a yellow-brown cloth-grain wood from the cloth pocket of his satchel. The cloth-grain wood was actually… alive?

Zheng Wan couldn't help rubbing her eyes.

While she had been in Heavenly Realms for almost a year, there were still many things that she was not used to, such as the wooden board in front of her. Countless black lines were interwoven on the smooth and flat surface, and the lines were even twisting here and there, looking like earthworms crawling around.

"Zhenren, don't think it's ugly. You can try injecting some vital energy into this small hole."

Zheng Wan complied and injected some vital energy into the small hole at the edge of the cloth-grain wood. The lines that were still a jumbled mess a moment ago suddenly became clear— they turned into streets and alleys, and even the buildings on both sides of the streets were clearly marked.

She also noticed that there was a flashing red dot on one of the roads.

"Zhenren, the red dot is you. Wherever you go, the red dot will be. If you want to check the directions, just refer to the map. My brother's living maps are famous in this area."

The boy sucked in his snot.

Zheng Wan couldn't resist casting another cleansing arts on him. She didn't have many Yuan beads to begin with, and after buying this living map, she would only have about ten left, but...

She weighed the twelve low-grade Yuan stones and decided to be lavish for once.

"Okay, I’ll take one."

Money and goods were exchanged simultaneously.

Zheng Wan took the living map and examined it happily. When she tapped on a building, the building stretched out and abruptly broke free from the living map, jumping around

She then looked for the Seven Treasures Court— it was not far ahead, just right around the corner.

While most of the shops were two doors wide and three-storeys high, Seven Treasures Court rose from the ground with a full six storeys. It had a facade of eight open doors, and just its shopfront alone made it much larger than the shops to its left and right. The antique-style building had a plaque above the door plaque that read, "Seven Treasures Court”, with a four-legged bronze cauldron drawn next to the words.

Back then, Zheng Wan had crammed hard about the twelve orthodox sects in preparation for the disciple selection, rendering the "History of the Heavenly Realms” that she bought for two Yuan beads into tatters. Therefore, she instantly recognised that the bronze cauldron on the plaque was Tianzun.

The Seven Treasures Court was opened by the Tianzun Sect?

Tianzun specialised in the creation of magical artefacts...

No wonder it was so rich and powerful.

Zheng Wan lifted her foot and stepped through the door.

"Zhenren, what can I get for you?"

A shop assistant came up to her and looked up. When his gaze landed on Zheng Wan's face, he froze, and the string of words that should have rattled out skilfully somehow disappeared without a trace.

"I'm from Yuqing Sect. I’m here on an errand.”

Zheng Wan handed him the task number token, and the cold metal token made the shop assistant quickly return to his senses.

"Please wait a moment, Zhenren."

Zheng Wan discovered that the grey-clad shop assistant was in the Centring realm, and judging from his aura, he was in the late stage of the Centring realm. While he went to fetch the item, Zheng Wan looked around the Seven Treasures Court carefully.

There were three shelves against the wall, with a base of wood carved with exquisite patterns and flowers—products of superb craftsmanship.

The outer-facing side of the shelves were inlaid with crystal glass, and the compartments were arranged in a staggered and orderly manner. Zheng Wan automatically thought of the bogu shelves back in the mortal world. However, it must be said these shelves look more sophisticated.

A closer look also revealed that what she first thought was a hollow pattern was actually a huge spell formation. The compartments held all sorts of strange and exotic things, such as something that looked like a piece of rhinoceros horn material, a variety of stones... and magical artefacts?

Zheng Wan only knew that in the cultivation world, artefacts like the puppet mirror that any cultivator could use were categorised as ‘magical artefacts’, and were of the lowest grade. Above magical artefacts were Yuan artefacts and divine artefacts, and each category could be further split into three grades, and the prices of each were worlds apart.

As for the legendary arcane artefacts that could grow over time—

Every time it appeared, it would cause a bloody storm.

"Zhenren, did anything catch your fancy?”

The shop assistant handed her an interdimensional pouch1 and the number token that was similar to hers but with a different pattern, and said with a smile, "I won’t dare to guarantee anything else, but when it comes to magical artefacts, our  Seven Treasures Court has the most comprehensive selection.”

Zheng Wan weighed her modest money purse and turned down his kindness.
