Chapter 139 Commissioner Long! by Harem-Fan
Putting my guns back into the holsters, I tossed the bulletproof vest to the ground to mark where the fight took place. Mei had already put her weapons away and helped to straighten out my outfit as much as possible. Sadly our shoes and garments have blood on them.
As the two of us get back to the rope a pair of officers from SWAT have come down and we put our hands up.
"I am Rick Lee-Tang and the husband of Detective Lee. I had followed and fought Big Bear, the officer he took hostage was killed by him. If I am being arrested, my lawyer is Nick Soto."
Naturally these are not the officers from this precinct, so I am indeed being detained. As I was being brought up to the ground floor, I heard Lucy.
[I have confirmed to all of your lovers and wives of your safety, but inevitable detainment. I have already called for Nick Soto and he is mobilizing for you and Mei. I am contacting Mary and telling her you want her to go to the hospital for a checkup for the baby, anything else?]

Outside the bloody station, the first-responders are taking the survivors to Star General or any of the other hospitals based on severity. This incident will be big enough to be all over the news today and tomorrow. Way to many Officers died today. At least half of Mary's Precinct was killed. The building is basically totaled.
Due to the Police arresting me, I refuse to tell them of what happened beyond what they were already told by me. Whoever is in charge is not caring about my status as nobility or the Vice Leader of the Fire Birds.
Mei and I were removed from our weapons, and put into a squad-car to be taken to another station for holding. Well for a bit, I still have Lucy feeding me updates. She also is Deleting everything on my laptop and factory resetting it, due to our connection soon being cut. I do not have my smartphone on me and am in the dark.
Soon the front passenger door opens and in comes Mary to see me, I smile seeing she is fine.
Mary puts her hand on the cage separating the front and back, and I can see relief in her eyes as she asks.
"Rick, Mei are you two alright?!"
I nodded but complained.
"I am fine, but Mei was shot through her vest, so get her sent to the hospital with you. And I told Lucy to send you there for the baby's sake. Plus, I need you to make sure Sargent will be okay, and tell him thanks for me."
"Commissioner Long is in charge and she is not going light on anyone not officer related. I feel she's targeting you. That is why they are not even listening about Mei's injury."
"Master, I am fine, plus we cannot say too much due to the cars being bugged."
I nodded to Mei in understanding and smiled at Mary.
"Just go and get checked up on, then calm the other girls. I will be fine here. I just don't want a bunch of pregnant wives making a scene, ha-ha. I love you and go."
Mary, knowing she cannot do anything now, decided to leave. The most she can help me with is giving me one less thing to deal with.

An hour later in the Downtown Police interrogation...
A mid 40's Detective of this division is looking at me in frustration. He said for the fifth time already.
"You obviously knew of the plans of the Mad Hatters and burst past the Police barricade, and made an armed assault on precinct 5. How did you know? How many did you kill? And what happened with Big Bear? Did you help him escape?"
"I will only talk to Nick Soto."
Tired of hearing only that from me he waved for the officer to take me back to the holding cell.
He was told by Commissioner Long to get anything on me, but they cannot or dare not get rough with the Tang family. Their lawyers are coming down on his station hard and making news announcements of my arrest and detainment.
Nick Soto has been the worst, and has already filed a lawsuit against his department for not letting them see me.

Clink Clink Slam! As I was put back in the holding cell, I saw Mei sitting with the Fire Birds member from the interrogation room, so I sat with the two on one bench.
"Are you guys good?"
The Fire Birds member nodded and Mei with a grin talked in Chinese.
-I have not spoken in English and only a few of them can understand my words, so they gave up on interrogating me. All I said in English was 'Nick Soto', Fufu.-
I nodded to her and saw a couple of the Mad Hatters sitting in the cell along with random thuggish looking individuals. I even see a woman from the Black Snakes giving the girl next to me dirty looks.
I just lean back and the wall and let Mei lean on my shoulder. I can tell they are holding us due to Commissioner Long, but are getting way more media flack than their poor station can handle, so Mei and I just wait...

A reporter is talking with Nick Soto, and a team of Lawyers from the Tang main family. Victoria after university, along with Tina and Linda, have come to support us.
The reporter is currently asking Nick.
"So you are saying this is Commissioner Long, breaking law's to get revenge on Victoria Long who was just removed from the Long family, why?"

"Commissioner Long will not allow Rick Tang to meet with his lawyers which are his rights under Central Government Law. This is showing the Long's are making this a personal attack. Victoria was asked questions and she also confirmed the veracity of Nick Soto's words. Somehow the internet was saturated with the way the Police were handling my arrest.

Slam! An angry older woman in a highly decorated Police uniform angrily hit her table and said.
"How did our internal information get leaked to the public? We found Big Bears body and he was clearly murdered, and we have so much evidence against Rick Tang, and you idiots can't convict him?!"

"We have no video of any of his crimes, only eye witness accounts, and due to the dark conditions, they cannot fully confirm anything. Sure we have shells and bodies showing he and his maid killed Mad Hatters, but we have nothing directly linking him to Big Bear. The worst thing... The group of ass-kissers looked confused why she reversed her keep him at all cost stance?! She saw this and yelled.

The door opened and an officer said.
"Rick Tang, you are free to go."
Hmm? They want me gone, no lawyer visit? I ask.

The officer at the door was told to get me out as fast as possible and he was now dumbfounded. I refused with conditions. He likes his job and his Sargent is pissed.

I shrugged and leaned back on the wall and flatly said.
"If they are not free, then I can't trust you guys. I have not been given my lawyer's advice, so I don't want to be accused of a jailbreak."
Mei hearing me smiles at me fucking with the police who looked perplexed at what to do. This is a first, right? A prisoner that does not want to be released?
The officer quickly calls in on his radio for instructions. Apparently whatever he heard made him look helpless.
"Mr Tang, your lawyer is out front of the station, so you can meet him there."
My Acting Advanced can see this guy is trying to put on an act. He probably has orders to get me out of here fast, and the longer I stay the worse it is for them, so I smile lean-back and point to the two women.
"No, I am as guilty as them, so I will stay if they stay, lock me up and throw away the key. I will admit to speeding, really fast, how about that, he-he?!"
Just after that, the Sergeant of the Precinct came running and asked.
"Why is Mr Tang still in the cell?!"
The officer told him what I said and he went pale. He said and pointed to the two women.
"The three of you for the love of all that is right, please leave my station right now! All of the charges and or crimes are gone, okay, we are super sorry for the higher-ups' bullshit, but for my job's sake, please just go now!"
I can tell he is honest here, and the fact he will pardon my Fire Birds member that was arrested for assaulting a hostile debt-dodger, says how desperate he was to get us out.
"Alright ladies, Sargent Howard seems genuine, lets go, oh and we want our things, all of it."

Howard personally grabbed all of our evidence bags and put them in our arms, while pushing us out of his station. Soon we saw the press and my wives and lawyer.
A reporter yelled a question before my group could come to me.
"Mr Tang, why did the police release you?"
I immediately start bullshitting with my Acting, taking shots where I can.
"Well, naturally I was innocent, so they let me go! Seems I was only charged with double parking, but the kind officers let it pass, since I was only there to visit my wife for lunch."
"But your lawyers and wives said you were being framed?!"
I looked shocked and said.
"Commissioner Long, I am sure will publicly apologize for her actions, or the Long family will definitely lose credibility, right?! Well I still need to get my maid's injuries looked at, they would not send her to the hospital, so..."
I smiled and waved, and dived into my lawyers and wife group.
I put my hands up for hugs and pointed to all the dried blood on me. I smiled and told them.
"Right now I am filthy, so hold off on embraces, dears. And Victoria, and Mr Soto, can you all tell me what has been going on?"

After some time, I had been told everything that had been going on. I understood it was Commissioner Long wanting to stick it to the Tang and Vicky.
My wives and I went to a nearby hotel so Mei and I could throw away our clothing and shower, due to not wanting to bring in the filth into our limo and home.
Soto had told me that they could have pressed some minor charges on me, if only they did not deny me my lawyer. That was why Central Got involved with Kimberly, who with her past track record, could not defend the Long in this matter no matter what. And with the previous two intrusions of Central, this time she could be arrested and charged with jail time.
Lucy apparently erased anything and everything she could involving me, making it look only like I charged in to save Mary, and the rest was Long and Tang drama with Police abusing their authority in Star City for political reasons.
Thanks to my words to the press, Commissioner Long was forced to eat shit and publicly lose face to apologize, and she will retire for dropping the ball. Now the City will need a new Police Commissioner, and it won't be a Long.
Mary was fine in her checkup, and stayed a while to support her Sargent, and Hana who was busy. But both women are already home before I arrived. Mary and the other surviving police members are given 3 months of paid leave while the station is rebuilt, and as compensation for the trauma.
This works out great due to our baby being born around then.
I had already inspected Mei's bruise in the shower, and it was not a big deal other than being tender to the touch. So that is good.
And finally, on the way home, I held Victoria and Linda, who are the most worried, while Tina waited patiently for her time with me later. She knows Linda has trauma and does not let her rivalry interfere with Linda needing affection to calm her heart.

In the living room, I am currently holding both Mary and Hana, who were very worried about me. Mary is explaining to us all what happened.
"So we had captured Big Bear in a sting where the Mad Hatters were smuggling gemstones out of Star City, and the closest jail was ours. The main prison had sent a transport crew to transfer him to Star City Penitentiary with high profile prisoners, but... His organization really wanted him back, enough to risk such an open terrorist strike."
She rubbed my worried face, and continued.
"The attack started as we were going to release him to the transport officers, but the gunfire from the front alerted us. Sergeant, with his quick thinking, knowing I was pregnant, and his daughter, a new recruit, was in danger, he shoved us with a few other vulnerable officers into the solitary-cell. Sadly this reinforced cell even blocks smartphones, so I could not radio or call. He then played as a decoy to not alert the enemy to us in the cell. Then you cleaned out the place, and we were released."
She looked at me and finished.
"Then Lucy called me and told me to talk to you through her communication. She said you were under the impression I was taken and needed to hear my voice. So that is what happened."
Mary then pulled up the couch blanket we had and put her head on my shoulder. I held both Hana and her hands and I said to everyone.
"This event showed me where I need to improve for the future. I will get extra things for all of the cars and some caches of supplies throughout the City. I won't come unprepared ever again. I am just glad you are all safe. Also how did your afternoon test go? I can talk to the father-in-law if you need make-up tests?"
All the women shook their heads and said they had no problem with it. Linda smiled and reminded me.
"You and I talked about it before, and I told you I would just be calm and let you do your thing, so I had faith you would be fine. I was only worried at the end, thinking you might miss university tomorrow, but now it is good."
Nadia said.
"Ricky, just skip our night and go hold Mary for sleep. I know that is what you need right now."
Mary knowing that Nadia with her urges, offering that is really thinking of me, so she said.
"Thanks Nadia, and Nichole, so then let's just count it as a swap, you can have my Friday, fufu."
Nadia looked like she would cry happy tears as she said.
"Damn, a kind act really returned to me! No, I won't change my ways for one good thing!"
Hearing Nadia reaffirm her villainous ways, we just all laughed and ended our crazy day.
That night, I held Mary, and the two of us just basked in the closeness and fragility of our love, joy, and lives. We will hold on tighter.
