Chapter 71: cruel reality
Living in the open space with so many zombies around would be no different than suicide.
So Vicky first took his girls to scout around before all the awakened people are noted down.
After he checked things from a safe distance he returned back with the girls and then looked at the situation of the military.
If it was before more than 50 percent of the people would have already died in the earth quake and flood first.
They will become undead.
Then after the awakening process the remaining 50 percent would have further reduced only leaving less than 20 percent of the people.
But now the thing is different now there are more than 50 percent of the people with over 5000 awakened people.
Also they had weapons on hand and they can fight even if the zombies come over.
Unfortunately Vicky cannot pass this news to the other bases so as to keep his status of the returner a secret.
Well even if he said that even with all the credibility he got, they would not have believed him.
It might in turn cause backlash on him causing severe problems for him.
Well the current result is the best possible result.
After coming back Vicky saw that some of the soldiers and officials are missing.
Well the old minister is still there and the lieutenant general is also there.
So things are okay.
Unfortunately they did not awaken any power.
But still the soldiers that have awakened still listened to their command.
Immediately teams of awakened people of common mode of awakened power are separated.
In over 5000 people around 4000+ awakened physical traits.
The physical traits like strength in arms or legs or that…cough...cough…, or good hearing or eyesight, or agility or quick reflexes.
All the body awakeners went through a series of tests to determine their capabilities quickly and data was recorded and separated into groups.
The normal awakened and soldiers were combined here.
In the remaining 1000+ awakened people that has the affinity towards elements or something extraordinary.
Well there are also people that have awakened but are still hiding.
Vicky did not bother with them for now.
There is a big problem soon so he just ignored them for now.
In the people with elemental affinity the people with the affinity to fire, lightning and wind are separated and then tested for their output.
Similarly the ones with earth and water were checked differently.
The lightning affinity people are only around 10 which are very low in number.
On the other hand the people with fire and wind affinity are nearly 10 times.
The people with plant and healing ability are only 2 people each.
Which is pitifully low, but that is how things are.
Immediately Vicky explained the situation of the missing people.
Many normal people are unable to believe Vicky’s words.
The reason is some of the missing people are their family members, friends or loved ones.
They cannot digest this matter and some people went out to check the situation.
Vicky did not stop them but only said that do not bring back zombies to their place.
Also Vicky did not let anyone shoot with the guns or make any loud noise for the time being.
The reason for this is to not to attract zombies here.
They have everything but being surrounded by the zombies is really hard.
So Vicky doesn’t want to attract zombies.
When someone that previously ran into that wilderness outside came back with a panicked face and loud voice Vicky’s expression changed.
Vicky knows that many zombies would arrive here because of the sound.
So Vicky took a hand gun with silencer and shot the man dead when he was few tens of meters away from the shelter.
The people wanted to question Vicky but the next scene made them grasp for breath.
That is right behind that man appeared more shadows that came out slowly and started to eat the man.
Well he just died and did not turn into a complete zombie.
Till his body also become zombified they would not stop eating his flesh.
After a little while the zombies started to sniff around in the rain.
The rain became their cover and did not give away their scent.
As if being cursed by the god the rain started to thin down at a visible rate and the visibility of the surrounding area increased.
The people are so shocked that they wanted to scream.
It was day time with thick clouds everything looked very gloomy.
Vicky order the people to not to scream and asked the soldiers to place Naphthalene balls around their settlement at frequent intervals.
The zombies are low leveled.
Their movements are slowly but they will pick up the pace in a month.
Also they cannot see right now but they can hear and smell.
Vicky killed the man because he is screaming and coming towards their direction.
If he completely reached the settlement then the zombies would come to them slowly even with the Naphthalene balls placed around.
After an hour the rain completely stopped and snowflakes started to fall.
Except for Himalayas, snowflakes are not a common occurrence in India.
The temperature dropped to 3 degrees immediately and did not change much but the people started to shiver.
The previous humidity is now taking effect on the people.
The awakened people are a little better.
But the normal people are having a hard time.
The damp clothes because of the rain made it hard for them to cover up.
Some of the old people started to show signs of death.
Also some people that lost their loved ones are looking at the zombies far away with gloomy eyes.
Vicky knows that at least 5 percent of the people would die today.
But he kept quiet about that and told the soldiers to guard the situation.
Right now the calmest person is Vicky so the power to control the armed…...
