Behind his mask, Daganzo’s expression turned astonished.

“Something was wrong with that Phoenix, and the defense personnel tried to stop it. Let’s help Alton.”

Furano nodded.

“We also have to be alert to the defense personnel.”

Daganzo nodded.

“As long as the Phoenix still loses control, we can use it as an opportunity for our advantage.”

Furano nodded; the two accelerated their flying broomsticks and headed toward the gigantic Phoenix automaton.

Alton accelerated his flying broomstick; the Phoenix leader accelerated its flight speed and chased him from behind; in a short time, it was almost able to catch up with him. The Phoenix opened its beak and bite toward Alton. Alton immediately evaded; the Phoenix tried to bite Alton several times but failed. Not long after, Daganzo and Furano arrived above the Phoenix, surprising the defense personnel rode their flying broomsticks, one of whom spoke through a single earphone connection.

“Other targets are approaching the Phoenix, sir.”

His comrade replied.

“We’ll focus on stopping the Phoenix leader first.”

Other defense personnel nodded. On the other hand, Daganzo turned to Furano and communicated through a single earphone in his ear.

“Let’s try attacking the Phoenix together.

Furano nodded. Daganzo concentrated.

“Ice Slash.”

Frozen ice spread across Daganzo’s sword blade; he then slashed his sword toward the Phoenix leader, and huge crescent-shaped ice shot quickly toward the Phoenix’s back. This powerful Magic Spell directly hit the Phoenix’s back; it could freeze its back widely and thickly, but only momentarily until it finally shattered and did not cause slash marks at all, surprising Daganzo. At almost the same time, Furano was concentrated.

“Blizzard Blast.”

A dendrite ice crystal the size of one meter in diameter formed on the Furano’s handgun’s muzzle, and ice spread on the barrel. Furano aimed and fired her handgun at the Phoenix; ice shaped like an arrow shot and hit its back. However, the ice only freezes momentarily and does not spread too widely. Furano was surprised.

“Our simultaneous magic spell attacks didn’t work on the Phoenix.”

Behind his mask, Daganzo’s expression turned surprised.

“You’re right; we have to find another way.”

Meanwhile, the defense personnel also continued to attack the Phoenix leader.

The Phoenix again tried to bite Alton, who was riding a flying broomstick, but he could still evade it. Alton’s expression turned serious.

“If I don’t find a way soon, this Phoenix will be able to bite me.”

Alton observed around him quickly, then appeared to realize something. Alton changed his flight direction towards the nearest skyscraper right before the Phoenix almost bit him. Once close enough, Alton pointed his Sheathed Soul Dagger at the skyscraper’s framed glass panes before him.

“Shatter.”

A light resembling a flare shot quickly from Alton’s dagger and hit the framed glass panes. Cracks spread quickly all over the glass panes; Alton immediately broke through it into the building. Alton slowed his broomstick, then got off and turned back to observe the Phoenix leader fly towards this building alertly.

“Where should I avoid this Phoenix?”

The Phoenix leader spread its gigantic wings, slowed its flight speed, and landed on the vertical surface of the front of this building, destroying the rows of framed glass panes on several floors around it and shaking the building violently. The Phoenix leader used its talons to grip the building and thrust its two wings to the building so it didn’t fall.

Daganzo and Furano flew towards the right and left sides of the building, observing the Phoenix alertly. Alton stood with an alert stance; his expression turned serious.

“How to defeat this Phoenix?”

Phoenix leader looked sharply at Alton in the direction before it, then thrust its head into the building and destroyed the ceiling, trying to bite him. Alton reflexively used both hands to parry and fell backward; the Phoenix’s beak was only a few inches away before Alton. The Phoenix kept trying to bite Alton, but its body was blocked by the floor above and below it. Alton watched the Phoenix before him with a shocked expression.

“It almost bit me....”

The Phoenix stopped biting toward Alton, pulled its head out of the building, and opened its beak; a fire blaze then formed inside its beak. Alton was shocked and realized if the Phoenix would shoot its fire element again. Alton stood, got on his broomstick, and flew toward the opposite direction where the Phoenix was. Not long after, the Phoenix breathes a powerful burst of fire from its beak, spreading quickly throughout this floor toward Alton. Alton turned back momentarily and was shocked; he then swung his Soul Dagger forward.

“Shatter.”

Light resembling a flare shot from Alton’s dagger and hit the framed glass panes before him, causing a crack that spread quickly. Alton penetrated this glass, which then shattered into glass granules and managed to fly out of the building; he then continued to fly away to escape. Not long after, a powerful burst of fire from the Phoenix exploded the entire floor. Alton sped away and reunited with Daganzo and Furano, who had previously flown beside the building. Furano looked at the part of the building destroyed by the Phoenix with a worried expression.

“Its attacks are so powerful; who knows what else it can do.”

Alton nodded.

“The Phoenix attacked me and destroyed its surroundings without hesitation, truly like a machine.”

Daganzo nodded; he then turned toward the direction where the Phoenix was.

“How to defeat the Phoenix with this kind of powerful power.”

Daganzo turned toward Furano and Alton.

“Let’s observe the Phoenix leader movements first.”

Alton and Furano nodded. They rode their broomsticks away and landed on the rooftop of one of the nearby skyscrapers, and Daganzo took off his mask. They then observed the Phoenix leader in the distance. Alton turned to Furano and watched her curiously; he then walked to her. Alton smiled cheerfully.

“Furano?”

Furano turned to Alton. Alton smiled.

“Isn’t it great that I can survive from that Phoenix automaton?”

Furano smiled.

“Right, good work, Alton.”

Alton smiled cheerfully.

“As long as you does your best, I will also do my best.”

Furano smiled; she then patted Alton’s head gently with her hand.

“I understand, thanks, Alton.”

Alton watched Furano curiously; he then smiled gently.

“I really like your cheerful side.”

Furano was surprised; she then smiled.

Back to the Phoenix, defense personnel’s expressions turned serious to see the Phoenix destroyed one of the skyscraper’s floors. One of the defense personnel said.

“Continue attack that Phoenix.”

The defense personnel cast various magic spells such as Fire Blast, Wind Blast, Ice Blast, etc., and swung their existence swords toward the Phoenix. However, none of these magic spells worked against the Phoenix. One of the defense personnel stopped his magic spell attacks on the Phoenix; his expression turned astonished.

“Our attacks did not affect the Phoenix.”

Not long after, the Phoenix turned to the defense personnel behind it, shocking them. One of the defense personnel’s expressions turned serious.

“Why is the Phoenix looking at us....”

The Phoenix opened its beak, and blazing fire burned from within it.

The Phoenix breathed a powerful burst of fire from its beak, much stronger than before, causing it to resemble a fire laser beam, shooting towards the defense personnel hovered on their broomsticks, who immediately evaded; the fire laser beam was able to reach a very far distance toward the night sky and almost hit several defense personnel, shocking them. One of the defense personnel said.

“What's with that extremely powerful attack?”

One of his comrades’ expressions turned serious.

“You’re right, why did the Phoenix attack us? Shouldn’t it attack targets from outside the universe?”

Not long after, they received voice communication from the Researcher leader in the control room via the single earphone in their ear.

“The Phoenix is probably no longer affected by the previous magic command and will attack anything around it.”

The defense personnel were shocked. The Phoenix flew from the front of the building where it was perched with a strong push, destroyed some part of the building, and then flew toward the defense personnel. One of the defense personnel communicates through his single earphone.

“All defense personnel scatter immediately and avoid attacking the Phoenix leader if it targets you.”

The defense personnel rode their flying broomsticks, divided into groups that flew in different directions. The Phoenix leader looked confused and slowed its flight speed, allowing the defense personnel to avoid it further. The Phoenix then flew in one of the defense personnel’s directions.

In the distance, Daganzo, Alton, and Furano were surprised to see that the Phoenix was attacking and chasing the defense personnel. Alton was surprised.

“Why does the gigantic Phoenix attack the defense personnel?”

Furano’s expression turned curious.

“It seems like the phoenix leader isn’t chasing us anymore?”

Daganzo nodded.

“This is good, but the Phoenix leader is too dangerous to let it fly freely in the city.”

Daganzo looked at Furano and Alton.

“Even though it’s not chasing us anymore, I plan to stop it. As long as that gigantic automaton exists, this city is in danger.”

Furano smiled.

“You’re right. I will help.”

Daganzo and Alton were surprised. Alton smiled.

“Then, I will help, too.”

Daganzo was surprised; he then smiled and nodded. Daganzo then put his mask back on. They then rode their flying broomsticks towards the Phoenix leader. Back to the Phoenix, it flew after a dozen defense personnel at a height equivalent to the tenth floor of the building. Other groups of defense personnel tried to keep their distance from the Phoenix and chased it from behind while swinging their swords toward it to attack it with magic spells.
