Until we boarded the carriage to the temple, Khan didn’t show himself. I did catch a glimpse of a shadow moving around his room window, but as soon as I tried to look closely, it swiftly disappeared. If a favorability of 10 resulted in such an indifferent farewell, I felt that there was no need to consider Khan Alexis as a potential romantic interest.

It felt like finishing one subject early during the long final exams of a university semester. With a pure one hundred percent sense of liberation and relief, I boarded the carriage. Alan, who was already inside, placed a white handkerchief on my seat.

“You don’t have to go to such lengths…”

I spoke with a hesitant voice as I looked at the clean handkerchief, and Alan kindly responded, “You’ll always receive such treatment when you’re with me, so be prepared.”

Laughter lingered in his words. He seemed genuinely pleased to be able to show this small consideration for me. Well, of course. In his eyes, I was a living, moving miracle of the gods.

I sighed resignedly and sat on the handkerchief Alan had laid out for me.

“We will depart now.”

The coachman said as he closed the carriage door. Strangely, the face of the coachman looked familiar.

“Oh? Sir Knight!”

I exclaimed in surprise and recognized him. The knight awkwardly smiled.

“Long time no see, young master”

He was the knight of Narcissus who had brought me here. The one who had suffered from a head injury, but after entrusting his treatment to the doctor here, I had completely forgotten about him. Now, he was standing in front of the carriage, completely healthy.

“I heard that you threw yourself to save me.”

…Me? When?

Suddenly, the knight dropped to his knees. Then, with a pose reminiscent of making an oath, he shouted, “From now on, the life of the knight Deven Fiestio belongs to Lord Del Narcissus! Treat me henceforth as your loyal servant, just like you would your own limbs.”

“There’s no need for that…”

“I will dedicate the rest of my life to you!”

“It’s a bit overwhelming…”

“Even in the Trash Village, I will protect you! Fear not!”

The knight, Deven, said with determination. Alan chuckled beside me.

“As expected, you are the one chosen by Eura”

Alan looked at me so contentedly for a moment.

“I haven’t done anything…”

“It must have been daily benevolence to Lady Narcissus, right?”

[Alan Bait’s favorability has increased by +1!]

Alan’s favorability had quietly reached 15. With just 5 more points, that darn event would automatically trigger. I resolved not to mix too much with Alan and to divert my attention outside the window. Seeing that I was no longer denying it, Alan simply smiled contentedly.

The carriage began to move. I gazed at the distant, imposing Duke’s Castle outside the window. As the majesty and imposing castle, reminiscent of its owner, gradually shrank and appeared like a dot, I felt tension leaving my body.

“Are you tired?”

Alan, as if sensing my mood, asked.

“A bit.”

“I can use sacred power to help you rest a bit.”

He said this while reaching out his hand towards my forehead. Unable to refuse, a brilliant light emanated from Alan’s hand. I reflexively closed my eyes and grumbled.

“You’re using divine power just to see a God’s miracle but pretend to do it for me priest.”

“Haha. Caught again.”

As I enjoyed the sensation of my head becoming pleasantly relaxed, Alan continued speaking.

“Narcissus, you may not realize how moved I am. The fact that I can use sacred power itself is a miracle bestowed by Eura, but to directly witness someone whose presence brightens in response to this sacred power… it’s a miracle of a different dimension.”

From Alan’s perspective, it made sense. To see a person’s name, status, and nickname appear visually only when using divine power – that’s quite a miracle.

“However, this ‘progress’… I don’t quite understand its meaning. It seems I’m still lacking.”

Alan said with a bitter smile.

I raised my head to check the notification hovering above me.

[Del Narcissus/Youngest Son of the Count/Daffodil of the Empire/Progress 8]

“Oh…? The progress has increased?”

I mumbled without realizing it, and Alan nodded.

“After returning the item to His Grace, the progress suddenly went up.”

Perhaps the relationship with Khan at that time was sealed, causing the progress to rise. When all relationships with male protagonists are concluded in some way, the progress should reach 100. Then, it would be the end and farewell.

But since the relationship with Khan ended, shouldn’t it be around 20, which is one-fifth? Why is it only 8?

Lost in my thoughts with questions, the carriage suddenly rattled severely. Alan reached out with a surprised expression, and soon his palm touched the back of my head.

“Are you okay?”

Alan asked with concern. His face was close to mine. The light shining in his bright blue eyes behind the clean glasses was so beautiful that I was momentarily speechless. Only after feeling Alan’s gentle touch on the back of my head did I manage to speak.

“…I’m not a baby. I can endure hitting my head on the carriage wall.”

Saying this, I lowered my head, pushing away Alan’s hand. Although he withdrew his hand, his worried expression remained unchanged.

“Always take care of yourself. Narcissus, the miracle bestowed by the gods…”

“It’s a miracle. Yes, yes, I understand.”

When I responded dismissively, Alan chuckled as if letting out a sigh. He leaned back, adjusting his posture.

“Let me take this opportunity to tell you clearly. Although we agreed to part ways after showing the miracle of Narcissus at the temple to other priests, if Narcissus wishes, I will willingly follow you.”

He added with a wry smile.

“Like the knight who swore loyalty to Narcissus just now.”

He really knows how to make intimidating remarks.

I chuckled along with Alan and playfully scratched the back of my head. Naturally, I had no intention of accompanying Alan. While Alan was a character who seemed affectionate and easy to handle compared to other male protagonists, his ending was not particularly satisfying.

In Alan’s ending, he suffers from guilt towards the gods and is tormented, suggests going to a desolate place together to live. The proposal is to live by serving others in a barren place.

Service, sure, fine. However, I had no intention of going to a desolate place where I couldn’t properly wash or eat, only to help others and die. If it were a system where achieving 100 progress and 100 favorability automatically led to a logout, that would be one thing. But what if this damn game sent me back to my original world only after spending the rest of my life according to the ending?

Since I had a clear preference for the male protagonist I desired from the beginning, I had no intention of staying with Alan for long. Now that I think about it, I should lower Alan’s favorability a bit…

Pretending to look out the window, I secretly stole a glance at Alan’s face reflected in the window. Showing a bad side might decrease favorability, but that was too naive of a thought. As long as the label “miracle of the gods” was attached, Alan would accept anything I did. So, what could I do to make Alan feel bad?

Lost in these thoughts, the carriage suddenly slowed down and came to a stop. Before long, Deven opened the carriage door and extended his hand towards me.

“We’ve arrived at the temple. Please disembark, Master.”

Couldn’t he stop with that “Master” business? I blushed and stood up as Deven and Alan simultaneously leaned towards me.

“Be careful.”

“Watch out for your head on the ceiling, Narcissus.”

Even if the emperor came, I might not receive better treatment. Purposely keeping my expression stern, I briskly rejected Deven’s hand and descended from the carriage on my own. The landing made a thud sound due to the carriage height, but I didn’t stumble or fall.

See that?

I glanced around at the two of them, lifting my chin. Deven was almost applauding, sparkling with enthusiasm, while Alan smiled as if content. The prominent features in both men’s eyes were excessively thick, making it dizzying.

“All right. Let’s quickly take care of business.”

Leaving them behind, I entered the temple. Alan and Deven followed closely behind. Inside the temple was solemn. The air carried a refined and devout atmosphere, and people were moving between the columns of the temple. Attires varied, ranging from nobles to commoners, creating a diverse mix.

“The Northern region has vast land, but the area where people can live is limited, so there’s only one temple here. That’s why people from all walks of life gather here.”

Unconsciously, Alan, who had sidled up next to me, explained in a hushed voice.

“In that aspect, the temples in the North are quite good.”

In that aspect? I was about to look at Alan, intending to pry more information from him when an elderly priest walked towards us.

“isn’t this God’s favorite?”
