Chapter 69

The movements of fairies and spirits came to a sudden halt at my outburst. The estimated number of fairies and lights was over hundred. They buzzed around, shouting phrases like “First come, first served?” “Yes, first come, first served!” “Ten people!” “Me first!” They soon began to cluster together like a chaotic mass, engaging in what seemed like a physical struggle to be among the chosen ten.

I think I just saw green blood splattering, but let’s pretend I didn’t.

I took advantage of the distraction and slowly lowered my body behind a tree. A few fairies glanced at me, but they quickly returned to the struggle, apparently deciding that they could catch me anytime. Ignoring their screams that sounded as if they were about to tear eachother apart. I escaped, leaving them behind as they were screaming.

I was afraid if I ran I would provoke them, so I kept my body low. It was more exhausting than running, and sweat poured down like rain. My fists were tightly clenched, leaving deep nail marks on my palms, and my lower back was stiff from constant bending. Nevertheless, I didn’t stop moving forward.

The hourglass in the sky, almost empty above the sand, indicated that only about five minutes remained. That much time I could drag out.

I went into the tall grass and crouched down, and hid. I even smeared dirt on my forehead and cheeks, hoping that if there was vitality in the grass and soil, it might mix with my human vitality. After that, I could barely manage to breathe.

Outside, a fierce brawl continued. There were fairies screaming in agony and others laughing mockingly.

The image of fairies and spirits that I had encountered in books or media until now was that of beautiful, gentle, and pure guardians of the good. However, the fairies here, while possibly lovely in appearance, were extremely aggressive and terrifying. Thinking about fairies with soft gums smiling and giggling, my heart raced anxiously.

I wondered how they consumed mana. It was fortunate that they didn’t have teeth, but I didn’t know if they consumed mana through some other bizarre process. Hopefully, it wouldn’t escalate to an adult 19+ rating, or worse, a horror rating. As my thoughts reached that extreme, I became suddenly terrified, burying myself even deeper in the bushes.

At that moment, the hourglass in the sky burst with a loud sound. Fragments of dazzling light, like fireworks, fell to the ground and disappeared. The time had come.

“Phew…”

I breathed a sigh of relief but didn’t relax my posture or venture outside the bushes. The fairies and spirits were still fighting, and it would take some time for Heron or Cain to confirm that I hadn’t arrived. It was wise not to act hastily. And that turned out to be the right decision.

Soon, the fairies in the distance started murmuring sharply.

“Wait! Where did that human go?”
“New mana! It’s gone!”
“I saw him go over there!”
“Right there!”
“I don’t know!”

The voices of the fairies grew closer. The rustling sound of their wings as they moved also increased louder.

I took out the plant catalog that I had tucked into my side. The book was thick, so I was prepared to use it to swat the fairies down like insects if necessary. No, would it be better to just stay still? There were over a hundred of them, and swinging a book wouldn’t help me catch any of them. It might even provoke them further.

“Fuck! Hey! System! Come out!”

Come out, you crazy bastard. I silently called for the system with all my might. This time, it was a threat that wasn’t a threat a male lead. Fortunately, my desperation seemed to have paid off, and a blue window appeared with a ding-dong sound.

[A surprise event prepared for players who keep searching for the system in an unusual way! Would you like to start the “Amazing Experience with Extraterrestrial beings”? Yes/No]

It seemed like a hastily created event, and the fact that it offered a choice instead of forcing me, I could avoid it if I wanted to.

“Of course, another event for this adult game, right?”

As I thought that to myself, the window appeared as if I was answering my question.

[Of course! Would you like to start the ‘Amazing Experience with an External Entity’ event? Yes/No]

To get out of this situation, do I have to have sex with fairies and spirits? I didn’t want to give my body to these toothless guys, they were the size of my fingers and those bright lights I couldn’t even see.

“No!”

I couldn’t have been more confident in my answer. I asked for help, not to be plunged into further trouble. The system window disappeared obediently at my response. As the window disappeared, a creepy laughter echoed above my head.

“Is he here?”
“Right here!”
“He was here.”

Gulp. It felt like I swallowed something wrong, and one side of my ear went numb. I reluctantly lifted my head and looked up. I thought the shadows were passing over but it was just a swarm of fairies blocking the sky.

Oh, gods. What did I do?

The faces of the grinning fairies, with their mouths wide open, were stuck together like corn kernels. It was a terrifying sight, almost enough to make me want to faint. Behind them, a dazzling array of lights swelled, creating an optical illusion of a halo behind them.

“Let’s eat mana!”
“Give us mana!”
“Suck it all!”

The fairies cheerfully shouted as they rushed towards me. I wrapped my arms around my head and tightly closed my eyes. I felt like my heart was about to burst. I might have a heart attack before they could consume my mana. That’s what I thought.

Bang!

A refreshing sound, splitting the air, snapped me back to reality. Something rained down around me.

Thunk, thud, swoosh.

When I lifted my head, I saw the body of a fairy split in half falling to the ground.

“Ugh!”

Like falling insects, the bodies of the dead fairies scattered, covered in green blood. The brightly glowing lights had diminished by about half.

Thunk.

Above my thigh, the severed face of a fairy tumbled down. The cherry-sized face had its mouth wide open, frozen with a death smile with the neck seemingly cut while still laughing.

All of this felt like a gruesome nightmare. Suddenly, what’s happening? Why did it turn out like this?

At that moment, a familiar voice pierced through my ears, knocking on the door of my consciousness.

“Del! Snap out of it!”

It was Andrea. He held a short sword, and the blade was drenched in green liquid, undoubtedly fairy blood.

“Ugh…”

I felt nauseous. Despite Andrea saving me in this situation, the physiological toll it had on me was overwhelming, and I couldn’t help but gag. However, if I had known Andrea would’ve reacted like this, I would have probably forced myself to suppress the repulsive sensation.

Andrea quickly realized that I was repulsed by his slashing, and without any hesitation, he threw the sword he was holding far away.

The remaining fairies screamed in a mix of excitement and panic. They hesitated momentarily due to Andrea’s actions, but as soon as he discarded his weapon, they regained confidence and became lively again.

“He attacked us!”
“That human!”
“He killed! He killed our children!”

The fluttering sounds of the fairies became more aggressive than before.

We are screwed. Both Andrea and I were now living on borrowed time. No matter how scared I was, the moment was approaching when I would have to face the consequences of Andrea throwing away his sword. Now we were both in danger.

And then suddenly the system that had been useless until now sprang into action

“Andrea!!! Hug me and make me feel okay!!!”

When the male protagonist who had disappeared from my eyes, now appeared. The system automatically triggered the dialogue options that hadn’t been completed yet.

“I’m going crazy. This damn game is acting up in this situation…!”

I bit my tongue and raised my head. Even in this urgent situation, I felt irritated.

System, you bastard, why does it have to be like this? Before I die, I definitely need to give the system window a good beating.

As I grumbled and clenched my teeth, something unexpected happened. Andrea approached me step by step, then knelt in front of me, pulling me into a tight hug and gently pulled my head, which was curled up in the bushes. With Andrea’s hug, the forced dialogue options were completed.

“Del, don’t worry. The Magic Tower Lord is coming. You’ll be okay.”

Andrea whispered softly and affectionately. The feeling of one of my ears, which had been numb, suddenly opened up.

“Close your eyes, count backward in your mind. Starting now.”

Andrea pulled me even tighter. From him, the distinctive scent of cool soap penetrated my nostrils. Andrea’s body temperature was excessively warm, and my pulse quickened wherever our bodies touched. His rough breath, slightly trembling arms, and pale face showed how quickly he had rushed here.

“It’s okay, Del.”

He said so, covering me with his own body. Soon, the fairies approached Andrea fiercely.

[Sex with fairies and spirits??? How is that even possible???]
