Chapter 233: Yearning Of Their Hearts

"Minx, stop playing with my poor heart," he groaned. His longing for Jess was something that was so hard to contain. Despite his busy schedule and the matter between Lucille's custody, the image of Jess was constant in his mind.

There were once or twice instances during the day that he felt like driving to the hangar where his private plane is and just fly to Mumbai to see her in person.

He truly misses her and the thought that it will take more weeks before he can see and touch her skin is driving him insane!

One of these days, he would snap. And tonight, Jess's smug look on his phone screen was a powerful force testing his limits.

"You started it," she pursed her lips.

"I know that I did. But, you don't usually do those antics, and now that you do, I feel like crossing the distance that separates us, just to have you on my knees because, Little Miss Jessie, you are asking to get spanked."

"I don't know what you're talking about," she blushed and couldn't look at him straight in the phone camera.

The image of her, on Noah's knees, being spanked, shot up a shiver down between her legs. She slowly looked around the almost empty coffee shop. She felt like someone would notice how flushed her cheeks now and how she pressed her legs tightly together.

But none of the few customers inside the coffee shop were even giving her attention, except for the man on the table near the coffee shop entrance that has been eyeing her since they were falling in line at the counter as they ordered their coffee.

"Yes, I'm sure you don't know what I'm talking about," he smirked. Even on the small screen of his phone, he could clearly see Jess blushing. His minx is imagining herself being spanked.

Jess was rendered speechless and just stuck her tongue on Noah. She picked up her lukewarm coffee and took a sip.

"Hey, why are you out alone?" he asked, changing the topic because if he continued teasing Jess, he was basically killing himself. He might end up taking a cold shower instead of working on the work that he brought home.

Antonio gave him a look when he told him to prepare the documents he had read and signed. Antonio hasn't prepared work for him to take home ever since Jess declared that his bed is more comfortable than her own bed, that's why when he asked him to send paperwork to his house for he has the intention to work on them tonight, Antonio gave him a weird look.

Then, he must have remembered that Jess was out of the country, and he gave him a look of pity. He couldn't decide whether to laugh or be pissed that Antonio was pitying him.

"Dr. Sison was in a meeting with some people about research that I'm not part of. Their topic must be too confidential for me to be there. She just gave me something to do, and I don't feel like working on them in the lab. I saw this coffee shop that's near the office," she shrugged her shoulders nonchalantly, "and I'm here."

Noah put his phone on his table, leaning it against some hardbound books to free his hands. He wanted to work on the documents that Antonio faxed over, but he doesn't want to end the video call with Jess.

"What are you doing?" She knitted her brows when he saw Noah stood up from his chair and turned around. His ass was on the camera. "Tiefenbacher, are you planning to give me a show?"

"What?" He turned around and his crotch was right on the phone camera. He bent down when he heard Jess giggled on the other line. "I'm gathering the paper that Antonio faxed over, what happened?"

"Oh, nothing," she laughed. "I thought you were going to flash me."

"Do you want me to do something for you, Miss Zimmerman?"

He sat back down on his swivel chair and his face registered on the phone screen once again.

"You already did, Mr. Tiefenbacher. And I'd say I was quite impressed!" she covered her mouth as she kept on giggling.

Noah clicked his tongue. "Care to tell me what's so funny?"

"Nope," she shook her head. "Are you going to work now? I don't want to disturb you ---"

"Stay there. You work on your end or enjoy your coffee, but stay on the line. I'll finish these documents so Antonio won't give me a disappointed look tomorrow morning."

"Why would Antonio give you a disappointed look?"

"Because I asked him to give me more work tonight since I plan to bury my yearning for someone out of my reach," he said, picking up the first page of the contract that he has to review.

Most of the documents Antonio sent over were contracts that needed his final signature. Or something that needed his final approval. Antonio was too efficient with his job, doing these documents would be a breeze.

Perfect things to work on while having a light bantering with Jess on the other end of the line. He wondered if Antonio thought of that fact when he chose what documents to send over. Because if he does, he's up for another bonus.

"Aww, poor you. "I wonder if the one you're yearning for feels the same way as you do," she chuckled lightly as she leaned her phone against her glass of water and opened a new document on her laptop.

If Noah is going to work while talking to her, she can do a light reading while talking to him. She was thinking of going back home to do her reading on her bedroom balcony but here in the coffee shop is fine too.

"I wonder the same thing," Noah replied, leaning back against the swivel chair backrest. "I wonder if the woman I'm longing for feels the same way."

"I'm sure she does," she whispered.

The words she whispered soothed Noah's heart and eased his yearning.
