DPM Chapter 100-Temple
Translated by Snowfall77

The four light elders Nawei, Xingling, Kaha, and Kuode all gave a slight nod to Mozun, then inquired: “Greetings Mozun. When do you intend to create union with Saman?”

Temporarily speechless, Mozun inwardly reeled from extreme shock. Create union? Pair, meaning spouse?! Was he understanding things correctly?

His one and only spouse was right next to him! And just because Mozun couldn’t see Wu Xingyun’s expression right at that moment, that didn’t mean Wu Xingyun wouldn’t make Mozun kneel on a washboard once they got home.

“Are you……mistaken about something?” Mozun interjected to Saman. “I……with you? Create union? Does that mean what I think it means?”

Saman’s face had a ‘but of course’ expression on it: “Yes, light elders should make union with light elders. You and I are light elders, therefore……it’s only proper that we make union.”

Before Mozun could sputter a reply to that, Saman turned to the other light elders: “I will pay respects to the Deity with Mozun in a few minutes. There, in the presence of the Deity, we will establish our agreement, make union and be as one.”

Astonished beyond all measure, Mozun could only bide his time. Wu Xingyun and himself were in Saer territory, they had to act cautiously. Nor should they flee before they had a clearer understanding of what the Saer were up to in the Milky Way.

Mozun forced himself to be cool-headed, ignoring his initial alarm. Giving Saman a faint bow, Mozun took a stab at employing Saer etiquette: “Greetings, I believe you clearly know my situation. However, I do not understand everything about the Saer. Before we go to the temple to pay our respects to the Deity, and before we make union, can you tell me about you, the light elders, and the Deity?”

Hearing Mozun’s words, the other light elders looked utterly confounded, turning their heads to ask Saman: “What is this? Shouldn’t Mozun already have a spirit link with us?”

Saman shook its head: “Mozun’s condition is complex, and I still an inadequate understanding of Mozun’s body, therefore……”

Not finishing the rest of its words, Saman simply tilted its head to the other Saer and they eventually nodded.

" "

Seeing the way the Saer behaved with each other, Wu Xingyun realized they were communicating telepathically. Perhaps it was their preferred way of communication?

Wu Xingyun remembered the unsettling way Saman had talked to Mozun and himself when they’d been out in space. So the Saer used a ‘spirit link’ to speak to each other……

Just what was this spirit link?

While Wu Xingyun was ruminating, the light elders suddenly showed horrified expressions, apparently frightened out of their wits. Saman shouted: “It’s alright, it’s alright! He’s not a Dark Temple warrior……not……”

The light elders gradually restored their calm aspect, although not without a little trembling.

Saman asked Mozun: “Please tell your friend to show himself. Even if he’s not a Dark Temple warrior, I’m always scared when I can’t see him. We are all very afraid.”

Wu Xingyun slowly revealed his form. The light elders cautiously surrounded him before turning their heads to inquire of Mozun: “This is your friend?”

Emphatically nodding, Mozun stated: “Yes!”

“How could a light elder be friend to a Dark Temple warrior?!” One of the light elders shrieked. “This is absolutely not permitted!”

“Xingling, he’s not a Dark Temple warrior……Look, he doesn’t have the blade in his hand. Stop panicking, he doesn’t have the capability to attack us.” Saman explained. Then to prove its point, Saman extended a finger, shooting a beam of white light at Wu Xingyun.

Standing right beside Wu Xingyun, how could Mozun let others bully his beloved in his presence? Reaching out his hand, Mozun stopped Saman’s white light. Mozun felt thoroughly displeased, but since he was in someone else’s territory, did his best to hide it: “Wu Xingyun is my friend and my partner. I don’t want anyone to hurt him.”

Inwardly Mozun was banking on the fact that apparently there were only six light elders within a thousand light years. And light elders were obviously highly important to the Saer. The rarer something is, the higher its value.

Hopefully the Saer would regard Mozun as precious, a little like he valued the mutants under him. As for their hostility and fear towards Wu Xingyun, Mozun didn’t comprehend it, but he intended to figure it out.

Seeing Mozun stop its light, Saman felt no other option than to drop the matter for the moment. Turning back to the other light elders, Saman said: “See? Other than being able to turn invisible, this creature poses no other threat. It is……Mozun’s…….mmm…….” Saman paused.
What did Mozun mean by partner? Saman eyed Wu Xingyun, a thin, dark and plain creature, with hardly any level of force. Yet he was faithfully following alongside Mozun, Saman’s pair. And Mozun’s gaze when looking upon the creature was tender. So……it must be……a pet?

Mulling over this conclusion for a moment, Saman decided it was right, telling the others: “This creature is just a pet of my pair. There’s nothing threatening about him.”

Finally the other four light elders seemed reassured. They said to Mozun: “You wish to know the history of the Deity and our people, and it is right that you should be told. Go with Saman to the Temple and respectfully listen. But know that your pet may not enter the Temple.”

“All right.” Mozun said, even as he gave Wu Xingyun’s hand a shake.

Wu Xingyun shot Mozun a quick glare.

Instantly a mecha warrior stepped forward with a rope, trying to put it around Wu Xingyun’s neck. Wu Xingyun went invisible and the rope caught only empty air.

Saman was forced to tell Mozun: “You must make your pet be obedient.”

Mozun was very reluctant to have Wu Xingyun leave his side. Still, since they’d landed on the planet, it’d been clear that Wu Xingyun’s capacity to move about would be greater than Mozun’s. Because apparently when the soldier was invisible, the Saer couldn’t detect Wu Xingyun any more than Mozun could.

Ever since Wu Xingyun been hit by the Federation’s gene bomb and nuclear bomb, his natural state of invisibility had flummoxed even Mozun’s senses.

Was this why the light elders were so afraid of Wu Xingyun? No powerful entity enjoyed having someone around that they couldn’t perceive.

By virtue of habit, Mozun made a random wave in the air, saying: “Don’t worry, I will come and find you.”

When Wu Xingyun restored his visibility, the mecha again tried to put a rope around him, only to be blocked by Mozun: “He doesn’t like this, just take him with you.”

Saman couldn’t help being somewhat puzzled: “Your pet, is there actual affection?”

“Yes,” Mozun answered, “Please treat him well.”

Pointing a finger at a distant building, Saman told the mecha: “Take him there.” Then Saman turned to Mozun: “We will go to the temple.”

After Mozun and Wu Xingyun exchanged a meaningful glance, Wu Xingyun calmly followed the mecha. The mecha gripped one of Wu Xingyun’s arms, seemingly too uneasy to relax its hold.

But as soon at the mecha and Wu Xingyun left Mozun’s sight, the mecha received an order from the light elder Xingling—you are escorting our enemy, he is certainly a Dark Temple warrior, hold him in the prison of light.

Walking along behind several of the light elders on their huge artificial planet, Mozun assessed everything he observed.

He estimated that the surface area of this planet was at least a hundred times larger than his old planet Earth. It also had many species that had developed on Earth during the last days.

However before long they came to an immense statue.

Jutting straight into the sky, the statue was shrouded in brilliant blue light, giving it a pure and divine appearance.

Behind the statue was a vast pyramid-like building, more than a thousand meters high. Protruding from the flat ground, it was majestically adorned with huge crystal slabs, blue light diffusing from between the gaps.

The light elders paid what Mozun assumed was their respects to the statue and they all entered the temple.

In the center of the temple was a colossal pillar of light, issuing a pale blue radiance.

Along the inside of the temple there were also three doorways.

One pair of light elders entered one doorway, the other pair entered another.

Leaving only Saman and Mozun in the center area.

Curious, Mozun watched the doorways. Waves of white-blue light quickly came from the entrances, along with a comfortable fragrance and some kind of sweet sound. It all combined to make Mozun feel indescribably refreshed and satisfied.

“What are they doing?” Mozun asked Saman.

“The light elders are making union,” Saman answered. “Together they will form the highest union of flesh and spirit, possessing matchless power, and as they make union……they will experience unparalleled joy.”

Envy showing in its expression, Saman told Mozun: “Do you know? Ever since Mijia and I lost our spirit link, I thought……it would be impossible to find my pair.”

Saman moved closer to Mozun.

Mozun backed up a step. Saman advanced a step. Until finally Mozun could retreat no further.

“How unexpected to meet a light elder like you.” Saman’s words were soft. “Mijia’s disciple. This is the will of the Deity and we must obey it.”

Mozun frowned. He didn’t want conflict with Saman, at least not at this point. Yet if Saman kept pressing to ‘make union,’ Mozun would have no choice but to get hostile.

Saman stayed still and quiet for a moment before giving Mozun a sudden smile: “You……don’t like the way we make union, do you? Since your body is still untransformed, you probably prefer the way of those creatures……”

Fingers stretched out, hooking into Mozun’s collar: “I can also make union with you in the way you like. What about it, my pair……would you like to make union with me? I will guide you. I will take you to the highest levels of joy.”
