Chapter 203

I'm not sure where the others are. The best thing I can think of is to send a magical message to several places like I did last time. I'll send one to the Adventure Guild, one to the Knights' Headquarters, one to my home, and one to Aunt Amleth and Master Merlin. Surely one of them will answer. Should I send one to both the Opera House and Miss Eisheth's places? Why not? Just to be extra, extra careful, I'll send it to them and to each of my friends' houses. Yes, that will surely alert at least one of them, although I don't think it's necessary. I mean, the Head Maid will surely receive my message.

As for the person in question, he seems to be on some sort of mission. I'm not sure how to describe it, I mean, why should he be here? Is it to kidnap Tio again? Highly unlikely. Kidnap others? Why else? Well, I can only think of him as a kidnapper now, so I can't think of anything else. Still, the way he moves, it looks like he has some kind of goal. At least not like me when I first wandered around aimlessly until I was picked up by Aunt Amleth, Nar and Sas.

I could easily knock him out, and with Fie beside me, it wouldn't even be a fair fight for Valdrid. I feel confident in a direct confrontation, but what makes me extra cautious is that there's a trace of THE THING on him.

I don't want other bystanders to get involved in our confrontation, so the best thing I can do is to follow him first, and once someone from the Adventure Guild or the Knights comes in, I'll leave it to them.

(Meow) [Fie]

(I know... Just like last time... It makes me nervous...) [Diana]

With the invisibility spell on both of us, we follow him. It will be alright! Unlike last time, when I followed Marianne's older brother just for fun, this time I took the necessary precautions.

The way he's moving, he's heading towards the church. Why is that? But instead of entering the church as I thought he would, he actually entered a commercial building. It's just an ordinary commercial building, nothing special. I remember going there with Sister Khamisah and Dana, and there's nothing out of the ordinary there.

I feel like I will lose him, so I make a bold decision to just be by his side. Of course, I first use the Fairy Queen Titania's Blessing to make others unaware of both Fie and myself. So far so good

"To Mr. Alexander' [Valdrid].

"It's Master Alexander, our very own savior, but, very good."

He said this to a portioner. The portioner is just an ordinary person, so he certainly wouldn't...

"Please go in the back door. You know what to do from there."

"I do. If it means seeing them again" [Valdrid].

I have a very bad feeling about it. Besides, what does it mean to see them again? Whatever it means, I should send another message to others, telling them that I am about to enter the evil place. This is scary, and I'm sure I'll be severely scolded. Ugh... I should prepare for the worst.

There's a teleportation circle inside, and Valdrid chanted a code, and he teleported somewhere. I didn't go in with him because I noticed that the circle used is a special one. Unlike the usual teleportation circle, this is a two-way teleportation circle. It's fixed where and can only teleport object between two places that have similar circle that was already connected before. It's safer and more reliable, but that's in theory. I mean, Master Merlin and Linda are a space magic user who are out of a norm, so, I tend to set them as an example.

But the real reason is that Valdrid doesn't have any space mana. Someone somewhere is manipulating it, and when Fie and I enter the circle together, they will surely find out.

The circle is an advanced one. I would say as advanced as one used by my Ministry of Magic. There are some symbols and lines that I don't really understand. Is it a new theory? Is it something else? Different materials require different incantations and symbols, and since there's only a minimal amount of gold here, I think it's safe to assume that this is no ordinary teleportation circle. Perhaps Time Mana, a subspecialty of Dark Magic, is also being used? The only prominent user of Time Magic in Amleth is Auntie Amleth herself, so I don't think anyone from Amleth is responsible for this circle.

(Since the circle is already here, I should activate it myself, carefully and without anyone noticing) [Diana]

I'm sure I can tamper with the circle, but I don't think it's a good idea. I don't want to be teleported to a place that's not safe. I mean, this isn't safe in itself, but let's not make Nar and Sas' heads explode trying to figure out where I was sent.

(Careful. Careful. Don't let anyone notice. Careful...) [Diana]

Use my own mana to find the place where Valdrid teleported to.

(Success!) [Diana]

"Welcome, everyone. Let's congratulate our new member, Valdrid"

Where is this place?
