There should be classes tomorrow. Not exactly classes as the exams are not finished yet as there is still the Combat Exam. It is not even 2nd semester yet, but Hajin feels like he has been living as a Cube Cadet for eternity.

Inside a nameless dungeon in Baekdu Mountain Range's Upper Sword Mountain, a lone figure walks lazily on the rough terrain trying to find the path to the exit.

“I want to drop out…” He inwardly utters his selfish desire to be just done with everything. “I am supposed to be just another extra…” But now he is not, and he must pull his weight.

Recalling the flitting images of Nayun’s memories, Hajin reaffirms his resolve to do better. In the past timeline, he almost gets erased if not for some sort of coincidence of the others remembering him. But there is no way that is just a coincidence anymore.

The memories he has of the future past are stuck on Nayun’s perspective, thus he doesn’t really know everything just like how his [Observation and Reading] is not omniscient.

Exiting the dungeon with the thick pungent of gunpowder, he finally has acquired his target objectives namely the .  He will love to clean up the place, and clear it earnestly, but instead, he chooses to simply storm in with a hail of bullets and kill the Dungeon Boss.

[Jar of Greed] A jar full of greed.
When you put an item inside, random greed will adhere to the item. The item has to stay inside the jar for ten days. Usage is twice.

Hajin also wants to get Suho’s Mistletein for him, but the Swordsman of Destruction is too much for him alone. He, Suho, and at least Hyon should be able to do it safely.

Moreover, even if Hajin can kill the Sword of Destruction, it will be too much of a waste of experience as fighting a swordsman of equivalent skill should be a fitting feed for Suho to grow his own skills. It is better that Hajin focuses on expanding their resources by hoarding the treasures he knows.

His smartwatch vibrates silently as he receives a message from Hyon. “I got the Aether.” He says.

After turning and scrambling with the bushes, and rocks, Hajin finally returns to civilization in the form of an open highway. He waits for a cab, but as the place is pretty remote, it seems that he will have to wait for some time.

It will be nice if they are able to invest in their own modes of transportation.

He feels his smartwatch vibrate a second time. This time, it is Nayun. “I just finished clearing my quota for the day. You just finished yours? Let me fetch you.” He leaves it at read.

His emotions for Nyaun are complicated. The most obvious emotion is that he feels sympathy for her. And then there is guilt. Though it is not really him who has caused the indelible wounds on Nayun’s heart, he still remains feeling responsible for all of the hurt she has to go through.

“Just finished,” He types on his smartwatch, catering to what Nayun wants. She must really want to fetch him, huh? “What did I do in her timeline to make her head over heels for me?”

“I will send you my location,” Hajin adds, typing on his smartwatch with remarkable speed. He is getting used to this tech which replaced the smartphone a long time ago.

Shortly after, Nayun replies. “OK.”

Thirty minutes later, Chae Nayun arrives riding a suave motorbike… and behind her is a person wearing a helmet. When the person opens his visor, Hajin finally realizes who it is.

It is none other than Shin Jonghak. “This is astoundingly unbelievable.” Hajin is not feeling jealous or anything at all, but simply baffled.

“What are we doing here, Nayun?” Jonghak asks while he gives Hajin a stink eye. He has that same condescending gaze in him as if the very sight of Hajin disgusts him.

If it is before, Hajin will choose to be the ‘extra’ and lie low as best as he can just so that Jonghak’s interests don’t focus on him. But now, Hajin is gutsier. He directs his own version of a condescending gaze on Jonghak.

However, because of his sharp wolf-like eyes, his expression has become more ferocious.

“This punk,” Jonghak is pissed by Hajin’s display. “Do you want a go?” Jonghak actually has his spear with him, and the weapon he is carrying doesn’t appear to be the mass-produced type that Cube loans to its cadets. The spear is tucked into a series of straps from Jonghak’s jacket, a version of the sword’s sheath, except Jonghak’s is for spears.

“Behave, you boys.” Nayun effectively stops the two’s quarrel as she ushers Hajin. “Get in, we have somewhere to go.”

“Where?” “What?”

Hajin and Jonghak have the same reaction despite uttering different words. They are confused. Jonghak feels possessive of the seat and Nayun’s company angrily scolds Hajin. “What the hell are you doing here? Nayun, just leave him alone, let’s go.”

Nayun sighs as Hajin seems to be reluctant to squeeze himself in. “Aren’t you rich, Nayun? Why did you bring this?”

“Ugh… I have a romance for awesome bikes! Damn, it!” She hits the engine of her vehicle and turns it around to get closer to Hajin. Nayun elbows Jonghak on the chin, giving them appropriate space in the middle.

Chae Nayun is swift. She grabs Hajin by both his shoulders and squeezes him between Jonghak and her. “I am really sorry for being spontaneous, Hajin, but please trust me.”

“I trust you,” Hajin answers not a beat any later.

“Nayun, I trust you more!” Jonghak adds almost shoutingly.

“Ugh…” Hajin feels his ears hurting because of the bastard behind him. “But is this really appropriate for three people to ride at the same time like this?” It is a motorbike and has only two wheels!

Nayun nonchalantly replies. “It is fine. They do it all the time in other countries…”

~Vroom ~Vroom!

Nayun speeds off on the empty highway going further and further to the desolate parts of Korea where monsters roam. She is not here to hunt or to go for a dungeon. She has a more objective reason for bringing Jonghak and having Hajin tag along.

Suddenly, Nayun feels something poking behind her. Because they are being squeezed together, it is inevitable that they get more intimate which should be understandable. But still. “H-Hajin, don’t p-point your gun at me!” Nayun complains to Hajin weakly with a whisper-shout. She is blushing up to her ears.

Hajin is already red by this point, but he only gets redder after hearing Nayun’s words. “I am in the body of a healthy 17-year-old, so I cannot do anything!” He can smell Nayun’s ponytail with a sweet floral scent, brushing on his face. In the most likely scenario, he should not be able to see anything with the hair whipping his eyes.

But Kim Hajin has the Thousand-Miles Eyes, and from the gaps of the fluttering hair, he sees Nayun’s collar bone, and because Hajin is taller than her, he can also see Nayun’s developing cleavage from his elevated vantage point. Because of the speed they are going in, and Jonghak pushing him from behind, Hajin is forced to hug Nayun’s slim waist.

“Hey, no touching!” Jonghak angrily chokeholds Hajin from behind.

Unlike Jonghak the psychopath, Hajin is a more reasonable person. He draws his Desert Eagle and shoots bullets at empty air, except the gun is fired while touching Jonghak’s ear. The sound is damaging enough, but there is also the recoil and the sliding of the gun nicking Jonghak’s ear.

The motorbike swerves with ferocity as Nayun tries her best to control it with her superior martial ability, even going as far as using her magic power to assist her driving. “Stop fighting, dunderheads!”

As the motorbike stabilizes itself, Jonghak finally lets Hajin go. Hajin returns to hugging Nayun’s waist as if it is the normal thing to do, while Jonghak gnashes his teeth in anger.

“I will kill you once we get down.” Jonghak ferociously tells Hajin.

But Hajin is not an easy guy either. A naughty thought crosses his mind as he hugs Nayun tighter, while his head rests on her shoulder. He shows a boastful grin to Jonghak by tilting his face to him.

“Nayun and I are together…” Hajin mouths off, which Jonghak easily reads between the parting of Hajin’s lips. “Nayun is not yours,” Hajin adds, preparing himself for Jonghak to finally explode.

Contrary to Hajin’s expectations, Jonghak did not explode.

Nayun feels another pair of hands reaching her waist. When she looks down, she sees four hands on her waist. “Uhhh…” She is speechless.

Meanwhile, Hajin is shivering in fear as he feels a pair of muscular biceps brushing his torso. That doesn’t end there as he feels Jonghak’s chin resting on his shoulder. Hajin is repulsed. Because of his Thousand-Miles Eye, his peripheral vision is also superhuman, thus he can see clear as day Jonghak’s demonic frown while, his eyes are closed.

“This guy is competitive in so many wrong ways! How the hell did I write this guy?”

Jonghak is actually able to reach Nayun’s waist by squeezing himself forward.

Another problem is… Kim Hajin can actually feel Jonghak’s spear resting on his back. He blanches at the horrendous thought of what is this spear’s true nature.

For the duration of the ride, Hajin has to endure being sandwiched by two sides— Heaven and Hell. He still doesn’t know what Nayun is up to, but he decides to trust her with sincerity. Alas, he is this close (about a millimeter close) to murdering Shin Jonghak.
