“It really worked!” I wonder in amazement as I stare at the Little Blue Tower sitting on an open empty area where I have Hajin teleport it too. The trick to avoid disappointment is to not expect, and as an added boon, when an unexpected something does occur, and it ends up working to your advantage— you will feel amazed. “I am so awesome…”

“Well, I am awesome-er…” Hajin quips, proud of the results of the stunt. He exits from the tower, his Goblin Mask no longer on his face.

In the off-chance we do succeed, I have made proper preparations. This empty room with a staggering amount of space is just right enough to fit the Little Blue Tower with room to spare. There are also various technologies to suppress the wildly releasing magic power from the Tower, lest we clue someone from Cube’s surface that there is something going on underground.

“How is it?” I ask Hajin about his experience.

“Easily done. The Tower is from the earliest generation so it does not amount much. I don’t even need to take a second look at the rewards for felling this tower, so I need not hesitate to acquire the Tower Core myself. We are lucky the Core is an object, and not humanoid. Still, the required SP to give the Tower a teleporting function did make me hesitate…”

I feel bad. I don’t know how much really Hajin has, but I know it is many. “It looks like we will be needing a few more schemes to raise your SP. What is the Core like?”

“It looks like the generic Dungeon Orb. That makes this Tower trash-tier though. Higher-quality towers have either an NPC as a core or a boss-grade monster. The reason the Association is willy-nilly using this Tower to improve the stats of their employees must be because, in terms of hazards, this Little Blue Tower does not even compare to a high-grade Dungeon.”

Speaking of Tower Cores, I remember the Tower of Wish from The Novel’s Extra. “You remember the Tower of Wish, Hajin?”

“Yes, I planned to write about the Tower of Wish for some time, but I went on hiatus on The Returnee Hero before I got the chance. I can also recall it from Nayun’s pre-regression memories.”

I clear my throat, thinking of dropping Hajin a fascinating bombshell. “Would you believe me if I tell you that the Tower Core of the Tower of Wish is Jesus Christ?”

“W-what?” Hajin ludicrously replies cutting into a mid-cough.

I have not been an author in my past life, and I am not very good at writing, so I made Hajin do my part in recording information about the future. Hajin collects and organizes our knowledge of the future by rewriting it into a novel. Currently, he has two novelization projects— (1) 'The Returnee Hero' from how he remembers it, and (2) 'The Novel’s Extra' from Nayun’s accounts, and my input.

“I take it that you didn’t plan anything like that when you were writing TNE?” I reply, drawing a conclusion from Hajin’s coughing fit.

“TNE?” Hajin asks.

I elaborate. “I am getting tired of referring to it by its full name, so TNE it is. Let’s then refer to The Returnee Hero as TRH for convenience’s sake, and to the current timeline, let’s refer to it as TNR.”

“Why TNR? And are you going to add this to the Glossary of Terms?”

“TNR stands for The Novel’s Regressor pertaining to Chae Nayun as the protagonist. And no, I am not going to add this to the Glossary of Terms. I am going to make a new addition which Rachel and Jonghak will study as new material after they fully join the team.” I approach the Little Blue Tower.

It is blue, and very little reaching 73 meters tall by my AI System’s accurate measurement. To this date, plenty of high-rise building is so much taller than this. “I hope there is a way to merge the whole [Under Cube] in this thing… Or have Cube operate it from the outside… Can your SP do it?”

Hajin thinks about my question for some time and gives a more than reasonable answer. “Theoretically, this could work as Cube is not a person after all. But I am low on SP. I am on double digits now… It is gradually increasing, but it is slow…”

“It should rise faster, but we have to wait. Cube is working plenty great on its mass media campaign and is spreading your remarkable feat of slapping the Association’s face. I believe that your identity as the Goblin of Greed should not interfere with your SP farming. It is your significance in the story that is being graded, so we should do just fine in the SP department. Also, one more question… You wrote this world’s settings with Devils, right? Where are the Angels? In TNE, Jesus at least existed…”

Before Hajin can answer my question, I expound on my inquiry topic. “I wanted to ask this for a long time already, but I wanted to pursue other leads first to make sure. This is the absolute truth I have established after scouring so much information— Angels have not made an appearance in this world since Outcall. Where the hell or heaven, pun intended, are they?”

If there are Devils, then it is only logical for there to be Angels, right? This world’s version of Wikipedia is very different and lacking. Thus, it takes a lot of effort for even me to reach a confident conclusion as to what the Angels’ role is in this world. All manners of fantasy monsters have appeared, from all kinds of mythology and religion.

From how I understand TNE, it goes strongly with the theme of Roman Catholicism. Of course that is not an absolute rule considering Buddha and other watchamalit also have a presence in this world in reference to the arc of Tower of Wish from TNE.

The thing is after hacking even England’s database, I cannot find anything that may correlate to an Angel. In their religious texts, there sure are angels, but none in its history with the appearance of any saints, or any Dungeon within England. It is a mystery.

I also must check up on the Vatican or what remains of it after Outcall.

Hajin shortly replies to my inquiry taking not so long to answer. “I have no strong reason to really involve Angels. The idea is open for the future when I am writing, but as you know, TRH is a dropped novel. It is a shame to say, but calling it hiatus on my part is simply my wishful thinking… that maybe someday, I can continue writing it.”

That sounds foreboding. The Angels as a third force might be a welcome development as stereotypically, they must belong on the good side at least. The world is getting fucked with the Devils. Though admittedly, the recent hunt on the Djinns enmasse will put the Devils behind the scenes on hold.

There is also the possibility of Angels being a new group of enemies… if they do happen to be real, but that is not really my main concern. I am more concerned about when these Angels might get involved… and then again, if they happen to be real.

Hajin adds, his tone a little bit doubtful. “When I am writing TRH, I told my readers that the Angels are self-explanatoryly being represented by humanity with Rachel for example in her kindness. Suho and the other main casts are also the same…”

That has a poetic feel to it and is also a nice excuse of why he is not getting Angels involved considering the whole lore about Devils and Angels.

***

Droon is a young man barely in middle school. Admittedly, in his surface life, he does attend a middle school to keep for appearance’s sake. Alas, he actually spends less time in school than he should.

The benefit of the current age technologically is that Droon doesn’t need to put up with the hassle of attending school daily. It is more than enough that he attends his online schooling, and has grades well appropriate for his age. It is nothing too extravagant, but average enough to fool any suspecting eye.

As the Seat of Violet, Droon is stupendously strong. But within Chameleon Troupe, his strength is only sought second for he is but a child. Even the Boss has the conscience not to put him on difficult jobs until he comes of proper age when he can freely carry burdens proportionate to his age.

If not for his peculiar circumstances, Droon would be living a normal life like others. While sometimes, he thinks of them as enviable, he has grown attached long already with his current lifestyle.

Among the members of the Chameleon Troupe, Droon might as well be among the strongest, but then again, his strength is only sought second. The strength that his Boss wishes for him to showcase is his technological capability.

“Wow, this guy is… awesome…” Droon is spending his alone time in their base in an unsuspecting abandoned factory.

The place has been refurnished to suit his needs. While the place is abandoned, Droon’s presence does bring color to the surroundings. There are also his little toys, all of the high-tech quality, but for him, nothing beats the internet when entertaining himself.

Droon is taking a break from his task of collecting information with the coming Combat Exam of Cube when he stumbles upon this hot incredibly interesting news, including even the video feed of the chase. “The Goblin… conquering a Tower of the Hero Association… That motorbike is fast!”
