Keep calm!'

'I need to keep calm!'

Arlo tried to relax his tense nerves even as the shadow on the soil below him grew larger.

He ignored the beast falling above him and fixed his eyes on the rabbit a hundred meters from him.

He sent almost half his Ki into the slime seal.

A fraction of a second later, bluish energy left the seal and moved at his right hand and his neck.

*Ring!*

*Ring!*

*Ring!*

With a loud ringing sound, six orbs appeared around Arlo.

Without hesitation, Arlo sent four of the orbs above him and revolved the other two around him.

The two rotating orbs destroyed all the roots that held him in place.

Ignoring the *Bang!* sound that resounded above him, Arlo sent all his Ki into his legs and stomped on the ground, causing a cloud of dust to rise up at that position.

But he was already long gone.

He left after images in his wake and in just five breaths he appeared before the stunned rabbit.

The rabbit quickly moved to attack but Arlo suddenly opened his mouth and shouted atop his lungs at the same time he moved all the ki on his legs to his right hand in just a nanosecond.

"FREEZE!"

The surrounding ki suddenly converged on the rabbit, as its overbearing pressure held it in place due to Arlo's command using Ruler's Authority.

Arlo's right fist which was surrounded by vibrant light collided with the head of the rabbit.

*BAM!*

The rabbit's head exploded into blood and gore.

Arlo ignored the dead corpse of the rabbit.

The thought of even extracting its core didn't cross his mind as a far deadlier enemy still remained behind him.

Turning around, Arlo prepared himself for a great battle.

Because it had only taken Arlo about ten breaths to kill the rabbit beast, Arlo was able to turn back in time to see the ape-like beast rise from the ground after colliding with his previous attack.

But that was all.

The ape-like beast wasn't affected in any way.

It rose onto its feet, standing at a height of 8m, as it glared at Arlo.

Arlo racked his brain on a plan to defeat the beast before him but before the plan could even take form, Old bro's grim voice resounded in his mind.

>

Arlo's face turned pale while his heartbeat sped faster.

Ignoring the beast that was glaring at him, Arlo took advantage of the more than a hundred-meter distance between them and ran in the opposite direction.

The Ki in his body right now was less than fifty percent.

So he could only concentrate 20% of his remaining Ki on his legs so as to lessen its consumption.

But even with that, he was fast enough to cover 4m every second.

*ROAR!*

An angry roar echoed from behind him before the sound of loud stomps followed.

It didn't take a genius to know that the beast was giving chase.

Like this two hours passed.

It was now nighttime.

Arlo was drenched in sweat but he continued to run.

The only reason he could last this long was because of Anita.

He had had no choice but to wake her up when he depleted his Ki pool.

Anita was the one that sent him part of her energy; energy she had acquired from devouring the corrupted vampires and three-headed hound.

But even with this, the mental exhaustion was starting to draw him back.

But he gritted his teeth and persevered.

He had already thought about it countless times within this two-hour time frame.

And he had always arrived at the fact that he could never defeat a spiritual beast comparable to a master realm mage.

Even at this point, Arlo could not even glimpse a shadow of the terrifying beast tailing him.

But Old Bro had already informed him it was a sort of spider-like beast.

It was hanging far on top of the massive trees, which was another reason it was hard to detect.

*Roar!*

He ignored the angry roars of the ape-like beast also chasing him; as even while it was a terrifying opponent in its own right, it still couldn't bring him to the point of despair.

During the chase, he had met Bon and Judi. He wasn't surprised the duo teamed up after they were siblings.

Contrary to what the duo thought, Arlo didn't involve them in his problem and simply ignored them.

Like this, some time passed.

Suddenly...

*ROOOOOOOOAR!*

A terrifying primal roar echoed within the dark forest, causing the roaring ape to shut up and Arlo to stop in his tracks.

The roar resounded for almost a minute, and within this time, Arlo's face changed expressions countless times.

Immediately when the roar died down, Arlo gritted his teeth and made his decision.

He changed direction and moved toward where the roar resounded.

As he ran, he tried to keep a cool face.

'Keep calm! I need to be calm to think properly.'

Taking slightly deep breaths even as he ran, Arlo thought:

'That was definitely Arianne. And for her to transform, something dangerous must have pushed her.'

'I have a mid-level advanced beast and a more terrifying master realm beast tailing me. But even with that, I need to make sure she is okay.'

Like this two more hours passed.

It was now approaching midnight, as the gentle and resplendent light of the moon cascaded down and illuminated the dark forest lightly.

Arlo finally reached an approximate position of where the roar originated from.

He noticed that some distance away, the forest seemed to be lit up by...flames?

But the fire didn't seem to be spreading.

He ignored that phenomenon for now and focused on his immediate surroundings.

But he couldn't remain still for too long as the ape-like beast was drawing ever closer.

It seems his previous attack on the beast had angered it and it was now determined to kill him, not knowing that a far more terrifying beast was stalking them.

Arlo quickly sent out his divine sense, and soon he noticed the corpse of a jaguar-like beast a few distance away.

He was just about to check it when from the direction of the burning forest, an angry roar resounded:

"DIE, YOU BEAST!"

*****

Because the huge firebird was perching on a branch far above the ground, even after kicking off with great force and rising over 30m above the ground, Arianne in her transformed state was still some distance from the bird.

But she didn't seem to mind.

She moved her long claws to her arms and drew blood.

A spurt of blood was released from both her arms and before they could fall, Arianne's mana covered them.

Immediately after two long blood chains materialized beside her before she grabbed them and flung them far above her head.

All this happened in barely a second while Arianne was still in the air.

Before the firebird could react, the chains coiled around both its feet.

Arianne's body finally started falling due to her weight and the influence of gravity but she didn't seem to mind, and instead clung tighter to the chains before she pulled down with all her force.

*SCREEEE!*

The massive firebird released a loud cry as its huge body was pulled off the big branch against its will.
