Sure enough, to have his thoughts exposed by a little girl, Arthur couldn’t stop his façade from breaking for a moment, which didn’t escape Rita’s eyes.

“Mother! Save me!” the teary voice of a little girl resounded but was soon drowned in the chaos.
Mia quickly held tightly onto Rita as she trembled, “Big sis…”
Arthur and the others in the vicinity looked at the chaos that was fast approaching.
Looking at the people that ran past them in fear, Arthur couldn’t help but frown.
In fact, some people barged into them with no care, and if it wasn’t for Arthur who shielded the girls, they may have been put into harm.
Without any hesitation, he shoved all those who tried to pass through him to the side with force, causing many to stumble on the ground.
Quickly catching hold of someone, Arthur tried to ask him a question only for the other to shout in fear, “Fuck! Let me go! Are you trying to get me killed?”
It was at this moment that a thick blast of evil energy spreading at great speed entered Arthur’s vision.
Arthur’s pupils turned into slits, and without any hesitation, he turned back to touch Rita and Mia in order to teleport them.
However…
Arthur underestimated the speed of the spreading evil energy.
If he had immediately teleported upon seeing the cloud of evil energy, he might after escaped.
But after hesitating, he had lost any chance of escaping.
Before he knew it, as the silver essence of space energy burst out from him in preparation to teleport, the evil energy swallowed them before continuing on its path.
“AH!” Painful screams resounded around them as all that had been enveloped tried to resist the evil energy corruption but to no avail.
Immediately when he was enveloped, Arthur felt the mana within him subconsciously surge, before expelling all the invading evil energy.
No matter how they tried to further enter him, they were shut out by the silver essence surrounding him.
While this sounds long, it all happened in an instant.
“Mia!” Rita’s fear-filled scream pulled Arthur out of reverie.
Mia’s eyes were slowly being clouded by evil energy and it seemed it wouldn’t take long for her to be fully corrupted.
Without any hesitation, Arthur willed his silver essence that was already surrounding Rita and Mia when he wanted to teleport them into Mia’s body.
He noticed that the entirety of Mia’s silver essence was just about to be corrupted.
He quickly controlled his energy to clash against the evil energy.
Fortunately, his energy seemed to work, as immediately after coming into contact with the evil energy, they seemed to banish them out of existence.
While Arthur was happy his plan was working, he didn’t dare to lax, and not before long, his forehead became matted in sweat.
It must be known that Mia was too young, and her body couldn’t withstand a huge amount of mana.
Arthur suddenly felt uneasy. While he continued to expel the evil energy in Mia, Arthur opened his shut eyes and looked around him.
He had wondered why he couldn’t hear Rita’s voice.
Now he understood why!
She was simply stunned on the spot, her face deficient in blood.
Looking around, Arthur saw all the tens if not hundreds of people looking at them.
While their eyes appeared normal, the evil energy that oozed out of their bodies said otherwise.
In this silent stare-off, a command suddenly resounded in the heads of those who have succumbed to the evil energy’s corruption.
‘Kill them!’
The person that Arthur held before was the first to react.
He had fallen on the ground when Arthur turned to grab the girls and was the closest to the trio.
Still on the ground, he clutched onto Arthur’s ankle, as the evil energy on his hand tried to break Arthur’s defense.
Seeing all the people move, about to attack them, Arthur took a deep breath.
He could teleport them away, but that would interfere with Mia’s recovery.
Sending a kick to the person clutching onto his leg tightly, he sent him flying.
Seeing the magical spells that were starting to materialize above the corrupted, he looked at Rita and pleaded…
“Can you hold out for one minute? That is all I need to expel the dark energy within Mia.”
Rita’s face grew pale as she whispered, “You know I can’t…”
‘How useless!’ Arthur grumbled inwardly, but he didn’t dare to let his thought known.
Instead, he looked at her with a complicated look.
How could he not tell that Rita was a monstrous genius in her own right?
In fact, aside from her mother, the queen, Arthur could feel that Rita was the most talented person he had ever seen.
Not even Wale could compare to her.
