Chapter 11.1

Bread was streaming with an extremely joyous atmosphere, radiating positive energy due to the constant influx of Hyeon-Woo Lee’s coins.

Perhaps because of that, viewers flocked to her stream more than usual, bolstering the viewership.

As the number of viewers increased, the number of fan registrations would also increase, and consequently, the number of recommendations and favourites would also increase.

It was a virtuous feedback cycle that helped to publicise the stream.

In order for a normal streamer like Bread to be promoted to a higher rank as a content creator, an increase in the number of viewers, fan registrations, recommendations, and favourites she attained was required.

And so if the broadcast continued like it was now, it seemed that she’d receive an accolade for the rising streamer of the Year award in no time.

And Bread, who was the host of the stream, spoke more energetically as a result.

“She’s doing great.”

Hyeon-Woo Lee was watching Bread’s room with a hearty smile on his face.

Then he took his hands off the mouse and keyboard for a moment.

‘Um, at this rate, would watching two or three people a day be the maximum I can do?’

Hyeon-Woo Lee wanted to make a lot of money through the cash-back scheme.

However, looking at the current trends, it seemed that he would only be able to handle four or five streamers at most that could viably do cashback transactions with him.

‘If I just randomly shoot coins at them though, other people will think it’s stance and May get suspicious.’

He had to stay on in at least one stream for about 2 hours, interacting with streamers, and shooting coins while exchanging for power.

Of course, he also had the wish for the process to be fun and that was definitely a key requirement of his.

‘But… that number is too little.’

The upper limit per streamer was set at 1 million coins gifted per month.

Anything more than that would probably be noticed and flagged up in Korea TV’s system for review.

That would result in a total of 3 million coins donated if 1 million per month was given to three streamers.

And that summed up to 45 million won [TN: $30,000] returning to his bank account every month with 15 per cent cashback.

It was certainly not a small amount of money.

No, it was a lot of money the likes of which he had never even had at hand before.

However, it felt meagre to Lee Hyeon-woo, who was the owner of infinite coins online.

He had many things he wanted to do and buy: a home, cars, luxury goods, travelling around the world etc.

How many things had one given up in their pursuit of money?

Lee Hyun-woo wanted to earn at least 100 million won a month even if he couldn’t.

‘If it’s 100 million earned per month... Roughly 7 streamers are needed. So there must be 4 more added to my roster.’

If he truly wanted, he could increase the number of cashback contracts and make a lot more money since the number of streamers that would be willing to engage in such a practice would be well over 1,000.

However, Lee Hyun-woo did not want the cash-back transactions to ever come to light.

And as the number of people sponsored increased, so would the rumours about the behind-the-scenes deals.

In addition, the more streamers he created a contract with, the more coins Lee Hyun-woo would have to shoot.

But since he had infinite coins, there were no problems on his end with regard to gifting as many as needed.

But the problem with this lay elsewhere.

50 million or 100 million won earned per month was feasible.

But what would people think if he shot coins in units of 5 billion or 10 billion in cash?

No matter how he thought over it, 7 streamers were the sweet spot to avoid rumours and suspicions.

‘But I can’t watch the same broadcast every day.’

Since he needed to increase the number of transactions, he had to increase the number of broadcasts he would watch.

However, there were also limitations in terms of the time he had in one day.

He couldn’t just shoot a large number of coins and then leave the stream.

He had to pretend to at least be enjoying the stream and gift coins subsequently in moderation.

If he set it to at least 2 hours per stream, it would lead to 6 hours of stream-watching per day for 3 of his contractees.

‘I guess I’ll need to set a rota on my calendar.’

While he was thinking about such matters, he suddenly received a video call on his smartphone.

It was Darling’s number which he had saved just a while ago.

“Has she already finished her stream?”

While thinking over the quick stream, Lee Hyun-woo cleared his throat.

And after he did a quick check of what to say, he turned the computer’s volume down.

“Darling...”

“Why are you picking up the phone so late?! What are you doing?”

‘Oh wow.’

Before Lee Hyun-woo could even get a few words out, Darling poured out her frustrated words in an angry tone.

It was definitely the first time they’d ever called each other, and it was also the first time she’d ever seen Lee Hyun-woo’s face.

But he felt like he was talking to a long-time girlfriend of 3 years.

‘She is way too obsessive.’

“Oh no, I’m just doing this and that. Has Unnie already finished the stream?”

“You’re not just doing nothing. Were you looking at someone else’s stream? Why didn’t you say anything for a long time? Why didn’t you say hello even though I was calling out to you and indulging you on the stream? Why didn’t you shoot any more coins afterwards?”

“Ah, it’s because I wasn’t able to watch my computer since I was eating and washing up. Originally, I had planned to just leave the stream and do all that, but my Unnie seemed to hate the idea of me leaving the room, so I just left it running in the background.”

While saying that though, he couldn’t help but wonder-

‘Why am I making excuses?’

Lee Hyun-woo worked really hard to come up with an excuse.

It was a kind of innate survival instinct.

“Hmm? Really?”

“Come on, why would I lie to you?”

“Okay. Then I’ll believe you. Since I believe in you, it’d be fine if you never searched for Bread’s and Yeojjing’s stream again, right?”

‘Fuck. Is she saying she already knows about my other commitments?’

Lee Hyun-woo seemed to be sweating even though it wasn’t hot.

‘What excuse should I give now...’
