Genius Summit (I)

Inside certain fresh quarters of the Zhao Clan, a figure could be seen practicing martial arts.

One moment he was at one place but in the next, his shadowy figure appeared at another. He gave the illusion that the very air swallowed him completely and temporarily before spitting him out at any given place he wished for.

From an outside perspective, it could also be seen as if the figure was dabbling with the rare element of space to almost instantly appear at any place but that wasn't really the case.

The masculine figure was naturally Zhao Wei and he wasn't dabbling with the spatial element or illusions, but playing with shadows.

Zhao Wei suddenly appeared from a dreary shadow and then aimed his index finger as if he was aiming an M9 against an unknown opponent.

He had his left eye comically closed even though he didn't need to do so.

Then he murmured almost inaudibly.

"BANG!"

From his finger, hot solar energies coalesced to create a powerful concentrated beam that went out of his fingers to become a separate existence.

It was widely known on earth that anything that has light attributes can only travel in a straight line but in a fantastical world of imagination weaved from the creativity of a human, physics and logic don't always apply.

The powerful sun beam radiating extremely high temperatures that could easily melt the hardest and most resilient metals, effortlessly cleaved a ten meter long fissure on the ground before setting its eyes at a target - It was a tree standing opposite to Zhao Wei.

If the tree had thoughts like humans, at that moment it should have had its lifetime experiences flashing before its very eyes as it indignantly waited for death to claim it.

But luckily, the expected didn't happen, causing the old tree to 'sigh' in utmost relief and offer its eternal gratitude to the deities above, as the beam of death redirected its initial intention of sending it to meet Meng Po to Zhao Wei.

WHIING!

At that very moment when the destructive solar beam seamlessly changed its scientifically and eternally known path, a subtle happy smile made its way on Zhao Wei's lips.

He had succeeded. The taste of success would always bring happiness to anyone who had been dedicated to achieve their goals even if it meant that the success was smaller than what they had expected. Of course, such a line of thought didn't apply to everyone. Each individual was molded differently with contrasting sets of personalities.

As his own meticulously planned attack made its way back to him, everything around Zhao Wei seemed to be chronically moving at a very slow pace.

A mix of Cerulean blue and light turquoise sparks of lightning silently danced around his form making him seem as if he was bathing in pure lightning.

He could have sought to avoid the attack but he didn't.

Waited, he did and finally…

"Flowing Stream."

With his hands straightened like two sharp knives, Zhao Wei faced his own ultra destructive power.

BANG!

With a swift, sweeping motion, Zhao Wei deflected the solar beam skyward, amplifying its destructive force. The result was a tremendous impact that bore a massive hole through the woolen clouds, dispersing them in its wake.

Despite his actions, a sharp hiss of pain slipped from Zhao Wei's lips. He began to exhale cool air onto the scorched, reddened skin of his right hand in an attempt to soothe the discomfort.

Feeling that it wasn't enough, he hurriedly sought for cold water to appease the stinging nuisance.

"Ah, that feels good." Zhao Wei moaned in relief and relaxation as steam gradually started emanating from the once cold waters.

"Never play with such concentrated ultra destructive solar beams. I beg of you… the dunces out there." Zhao Wei looked up at the beautiful azure skies as if addressing an invisible audience that even himself couldn't see.

His words were, in fact, just random.

"This will definitely leave a scar. I don't remember exactly how many times I have done this." Zhao Wei then looked at his now slowly healing skin tissues.

"It will be a pretty funny scenario if I ever succumb to my own attack. Praise be to my defenses." He half chuckled dryly while staring absent-mindedly at the empty air as he continued with a heavy tone.

"Time is like the flowing waters of a river, hurriedly gliding forward without a care of the changes happening around the universe."

Zhao Wei then released a sigh.

"It's already been almost four months since I arrived in the Fan Universe."

"Anyway, why am I talking as if I have lived for a couple of hundred years already?"

Zhao Wei then turned his head towards the entrance to his training grounds when he sensed someone approaching.

He concentrated his sight and when he saw the attire worn by the person coming to his quarters, he withdrew his gaze.

"So it has arrived."

"Greetings to young master Zhao Wei." The young maidservant bowed down her head respectfully as she addressed Zhao Wei.

She really seemed to embody her role very perfectly.

In her scar ridden young hands, she carefully held an Azure colored envelope that was well sealed.

"Hmm." Zhao Wei nodded calmly.

"I have been sent to give you this invite, young master." The maidservant politely spoke while she extended the envelope to him.

Her eyes were still glued to the ground, still looking anywhere but him.

Zhao Wei took the envelope from her hands before dismissing her.

He could clearly hear her furiously palpating heart beat even though she had made utmost efforts to maintain her facial expressions and breathing.

Zhao Wei wondered what was wrong with her but he didn't bother to unnecessarily think about a clan servant.

"Well, well, well, if it isn't the invitation from none other than the renowned belle of Sun Feather City, Qiu Mengyu. A name that resonates as one of the four eminent prodigies of this illustrious city."

Zhao Wei lightly smiled as he tore the seal holding the invite and nonchalantly read through everything before putting it inside his pocket.

The venue and time of the Genius Summit were all recorded inside the invite.

"I am now assured that the Long guy doesn't have me in his radar like how he previously had it for Zhao Feng. This invite is a perfect example. But I wonder why?" Zhao Wei mused with a quizzical look on his face.

"Or maybe he doesn't feel that I am that much of a threat to him."

"I bet he's thinking along the lines 'He's an insignificant ant', 'An ant like him won't make any waves', 'I am special and he's just an ordinary side branch trash', 'Whatever I, Zhao Linglong, set eyes on is going to be eventually mine for the taking'..." Zhao Wei came up with a few of the possible voice lines that Zhao Linglong could ever come up with.

"As long as he stays within his lane, I don't think I would even bother to register his existence." A cold and calculative glint momentarily flashed in his dark eyes.

After that, Zhao Wei decided to start his journey to the Qiu Clan's territory.

Just as he was about to…

"Brother Feng…" A soft feminine voice called out to him.

"Oh shit, here we go again," Zhao Wei facepalmed himself.

Anyway, he couldn't help but anticipate the meeting with other geniuses of Sun Feather City.

After all, a reincarnated former God Lord would be present in the Genius Summit!

And not just any genius but a peerless genius with a former terrifying Giant God bloodline!
