The Itachi Way

On the way, Zhao Wei began to realize that he had encountered another timeline deviation.

What he had witnessed wasn't something that was depicted in the original storyline. It was different by miles away.

"King of Gods" didn't have many dark themes but what if there was a hidden canvas being obscured by the surface canvas on which only good and mild things were drawn?

Something like that was possible.

In his previous life, Zhao Wei had read such novels, for example, a story where the author gets reincarnated in the same novel he/she had created but after time passes, they would soon find that the world they created wasn't still the same. The plot is derailing from its predetermined path.

Zhao Wei had a serious expression on his face, no longer calm or relaxed, as his figure flashed soundlessly from tree to tree like a ninja.

The bad premonition Zhao Wei had felt previously should have a high probability of posing a great risk to his very life.

Every action has a consequence and every cause has an effect, Zhao Wei understood these philosophical views.

Time didn't have a fixed point and the future was just a possibility that has yet to come.

Zhao Wei didn't stress much about it. He promised himself to approach every situation with a calculated mind.

With the region exquisitely mapped inside his mind due to his superb surveillance skills, Zhao Wei was basically like the modern-day drone.

Zhao Wei finally stopped atop a high thick branch as he gazed down at the group of bandits of 12 camped near a canyon.

Three were at the Fourth Rank, Five at the Fifth Rank (Two Beginner Ranked, Three Peak Ranked), Three Sixth Rank Martial Artists, and finally, a newly advanced Martial Master whom Zhao Wei speculated to be the leader of the group.

'Too many opponents but the points I would get from exterminating them will be worth it.' Zhao Wei mused lightly.

'In such a situation, sniping from afar will be the most logical thing to do. Archery is beneficial for this kind of war.' Zhao Wei analyzed as his eyes searched for a lone archer and it didn't take long before he spotted his target.

The good thing about these bandits was that they didn't have a complex line of defence and strategy. There were many loopholes that Zhao Wei could use to assassinate their leader but the commotion was surely going to alert the others to gang up against him.

Zhao Wei could see many paths to exterminate vermin but he chose the path that was going to create fear, carelessness, anger and utter chaos among his prey.

Zhao Wei expertly swerved a thick branch from impeding his movement and jumped onto another tree soundlessly.

With the control, comes being reserved. Zhao Wei's body control wasn't just exquisite, it was perfect.

His already locked-on target held a 2-meter-long bow with a leather quiver with arrows, wrapped around his upper torso.

The bandit archer stationed atop an enormous tree for effective surveillance remained oblivious to the Grim Reaper's approach.

The bandit archer didn't realize Zhao Wei was near him until he felt a finger poking his temple. It was then that he saw Zhao Wei's apathetic face and the silent movement of his lips.

[Solar Finger]

The bandit archer's skull got perfectly trapenated and his brain melted into brain juices and that spelled his eternal doom.

Zhao Wei then carefully tied his dead body to the thick branch to prevent it from falling on the ground and causing unnecessary alarm.

11 left.

Zhao Wei held the two-meter-long black bow in his hand and tested the tensile strength of the pulling string.

'It will serve its purpose well.' Zhao Wei then took out 7 arrows from the quiver and gently placed them on the string.

His captivating silver eyes shifted from right to left, upwards to downwards, having no definite direction as he processed the information about his soon-to-die enemies. Before his eyes, only vulnerabilities and weak points existed.

Zhao Wei then channelled his inner strength on the arrows to amplify the penetrative force to extremely high levels. Coupled with his physical strength, Zhao Wei was basically sending nukes to bombard the bodies of the bandits.

Zhao Wei silently inhaled and exhaled, relaxing his shoulders and overall body posture to the point where the bow, arrow and one man were one. Inseparable.

With his focus reaching the acme, Zhao Wei released the seven arrows each with a designated target.

WHOOSH!

WHOOSH!

WHOOSH!

In the wake of each empowered arrow, gruesomely exploded bodies would drop on the thickly foliated ground.

HEPTAKILL!

"BOSS! We have intruders!" One of the remaining men shouted at the top of his lungs as he tried to find cover instead of aimlessly standing in the open.

The newly advanced Martial Master bandit leader sensed the sounds of his men dying and immediately rushed out of his room.

The leader was a middle-aged man with a big musculature and his well-defined pectorals were exposed. His face was riddled with sword scars that showed he had some history with sword cultivators.

This man was called Mu Dao.

"Everyone make sure to be on alert and take cover. Our enemies are master archers!" Mu Dao shouted while his sharp eyes vigilantly tried to assess the positions of their attackers.

The three remaining bandit survivors immediately hid in spots that even archers may find impossible to target them.

What they didn't know was that the enemy they thought was a group of master archers ambushing them, was only one person.

Zhao Wei's archery execution gave them such an idea.

Who was going to imagine that one person was capable of shooting seven arrows and accurately killing seven targets consecutively?

From his sniping point, Zhao Wei released a short 'hmm' after observing the bandits' actions.

'Let me prove you wrong.' Zhao Wei aimed an arrow at the bandit that had shouted the alarm the moment his friends had been killed.

He was a Peak Ranked Sixth Rank Martial Artist.

WHOOSH!

The moment the empowered arrow left the string, Mu Dao sensed the subtle disturbance in the air currents and immediately gazed at Zhao Wei's direction.

'Found you!' Mu Dao then gazed at the blur of the arrow's trajectory and saw it land a few distances away from his subordinate's hiding place.

Mu Dao was coated by a protective inner strength barrier that's why he wasn't afraid of the arrows but his subordinates wouldn't be lucky.

'A miss. Is that archer stupid or what? Does he think he can shoot me when I am perfectly hidden from his range of attack?' The thick fish-lipped subordinate, whose mouth was reminiscent of someone with a botched lip job, sneered heavily.

Since he had already seen Zhao Wei's hiding position, Mu Dao decided it was better to kill him first before his 'allies' came to the rescue.

You see, Mu Dao was quite confident in his Martial Master status.

But just as Mu Dao was about to take his first step, he saw a clever one-sided grin form on Zhao Wei's face.

They were separated by only 100 meters, so Mu Dao could perfectly see Zhao Wei's actions.

Suddenly, a sense of foreboding gripped his heart when he saw Zhao Wei make a gesture with his index finger and middle finger. (Itachi reference)

"Misdirection!" Over the distance, Mu Dao heard those perfectly calm words and his eyes widened in realization when he sensed the unmistakable movement of a Martial Master's inner strength.

"Big Fish, move out of there immediately!" Mu Dao warned vehemently.

The one being addressed was exactly the subordinate with a botched lip job but Mu Dao's warning was too late.

WHOOSH!

The arrow embedded in the ground vibrated only once before quickly shooting toward Big Fish and digging through his neck, ultimately leaving the head grossly hanging off it at an unnatural angle.

Big Fish died.

"NOOO!!!" Mu Dao wailed in extreme anger and anguish as his whole Martial Master aura erupted like a typhoon that swept through his surroundings.

"YOU ARE DEAD!" Mu Dao directed all of his bloodlust and killing intent at Zhao Wei.

Zhao Wei tilted his neck to the side with a disturbing creepy wide smile on his face as his hands tugged at the Bow's string two times in succession.

That was Zhao Wei's answer.

WHOOSH!
