Rain of Separation

“Bei Moi, I need your answer. We have wasted so much time already,” Quan Chen hurriedly spoke with impatience in his voice.

“Well, part of the time wasted was all on me, I guess.” He then casually shrugged his shoulders, cementing the idea that he was not sorry for his prolonged indulgence.

At least, he was self-aware.

“I-” Bei Moi began to speak but Quan Chen stopped him with a stretched-out palm.

“Don't think about stalling or wasting any more of my time, Brother Bei,” Quan Chen said in a low, cold voice that made Bei Moi feel an imminent danger to his very existence.

'It seems I can no longer continue acting. This Quan Chen might even kill me if I play hard to get.’ Bei Moi clenched his fist in silent dissatisfaction.

He was smart enough to anticipate the possibility of being crippled if Quan Chen proved to be even more insidious.

'I don't like him and he's too damn powerful for the current me.’

‘'This feeling of oppression, I hate it. I can only grow stronger by becoming Master Hai Yun's disciple. Once I advance in my cultivation and become an Ascended Being, I will ask him to ‘spar’. I hope he won't turn down his junior when that time arrives.’

Bei Moi showed an uneasy smile on the surface before a resolute expression formed on his face.

Some people looked at Bei Moi with expectations, thinking he would have a sense of justice and loyalty as someone who had stayed with Lord Guanjun for long, unlike that detestable Zhao Wei.

From another perspective, Zhao Wei's actions and decisions weren't wrong.

It honestly didn't matter if they were right or wrong.

They were just mere childish moral distinctions.

Bei Moi looked at his master, Lord Guanjun, who only showed a partially hopeful expression. Lord Guanjun still had little hope regarding him after witnessing Zhao Wei's straightforward act of betrayal.

When Bei Moi finally looked back at Quan Chen, he had already made his decision.

No, his decision had already been made ages ago in his subconscious but he had just been uncertain and hesitant.

He wasn't as decisive as Zhao Wei but his acting skills were something worth noting from a Director's perspective. It was passable, at least.

“I am willing to be Master Hai Yun’s disciple.” His words immediately shattered any trace of hope inside Lord Guanjun's heart as it bled even more from a series of emotional damage.

Lord Guanjun turned even more pale as his injured body felt weaker than normal.

“Master, you don't have to feel sad for losing such unfilial bastards. They should all go burn in hell!” Nan Gonfan gritted his teeth in restrained anger as he moved closer to both Ye Lingyun and Third Guard.

“Sigh, leave him be. It would be better if he's not with me. At the Broken Moon Clan, he would develop faster than here.” Lord Guanjun calmed down his remaining disciples but internally, he felt even more hurt than he let on.

He had just lost two genius disciples in just a few minutes!

All of his efforts had been ruined by Quan Chen, no, his past enemy, Hai Yun.

Lord Guanjun felt a huge sense of extreme humiliation wash over him.

“Bei Moi…” Lord Guanjun called out his name, having the false reality that he had misjudged his core disciple.

Having watched enough of the drama currently unfolding in front of his eyes, Quan Chen finally clapped his hands enthusiastically.

He had satisfied his hobby of playing with “mortals” after descending from the Immortal Domain.

Quan Chen had such a quirk. He relished the feeling of supremacy over weaklings.

“That's a wise choice, Brother Bei. Your future will be limitless after becoming an inner disciple under the teacher's guidance.” Quan Chen had a toothy grin as he said those words.

“Xu Ran, how does it feel to lose everything you have ever wanted?” Quan Chen sneered at Lord Guanjun who was on the verge of fainting.

Lord Guanjun could only blankly look at him without replying.

There was nothing to say at this point.

He felt bitter inside his mouth.

Seeing him being silent, Quan Chen clicked his tongue in annoyance for failing to evoke some sad and funny reaction from him.

“Bei Moi, Zhao Wei, it's time to welcome a new chapter of your lives in the clan. Let's go.” Quan Chen gestured to the two to follow him.

Coincidentally, both Bei Moi and Zhao Wei looked at each other.

Bei Moi felt that Zhao Wei was even more unfathomable and unhinged in the mental aspect.

The guy could betray someone in a flash without batting an eye and he also read the overall situation faster than he could.

'What a terrifying dude! I should be more careful when interacting with him in the future.’ Bei Moi noted in his heart.

He was going to see more of Zhao Wei anyway.

All in all, Bei Moi treated Zhao Wei as a difficult rival that he would have to trample soon.

As for Zhao Wei, he just looked at Bei Moi since he had displayed quite an interesting act throughout. Nothing more, nothing less.

He had been given a good show, why shouldn't he congratulate the lead character with his attention?

As the three figures finally disappeared in the darkness of the night and the heavy pitter-patter of the rain, everyone's eyes lingered on the path they had taken.

Only after confirming that Quan Chen and co had truly disappeared, did they release their prolonged sighs of relief that they had been withholding for quite some time.

“Aaargh!” It was then that a painful moan suddenly resounded and when people looked at the source, they found that it was Lord Guanjun who couldn't hold it anymore and finally fainted.

Immense worry could be seen on his closest disciples as they rushed to check his pulse and only after confirming that he was only temporarily fainted, did they feel reassured that Lord Guanjun wasn't in a dangerous health situation.

As everyone was filled with worry, anger, helplessness, hate, and unwillingness, Zhao Yufei still had her eyes on the path Zhao Wei had taken.

It was raining yet no sign of dampness could be seen on her clothes or beautiful long hair.

Zhao Yufei looked as immaculate as ever as she listened to the rain, listened to her own beating heart, and listened to her feelings.

The rain symbolized her separation from that ‘young man'.

It symbolized a new beginning for her.

She was all alone yet she didn't feel sad at Zhao Wei's eventual departure. He had prepared her.

She yearned for darkness unaware that it would soon consume her completely.

She had become relentless and unyielding.

She was determined to embrace the abyss known as Zhao Wei and even conquer it.

She had her own road to walk on and she had a feeling that soon their paths would cross again.

'Yufei, the Broken Moon Clan is a dead end for your future development. Come meet me outside the city immediately.’ It was then that she had a voice inside her head.

It was her grandfather whom she had forgotten for quite some time!

'Grandpa!’ Zhao Yufei didn't show any change in her expression as she called to her only relative.

'Make haste Yufei!’

Telepathic communication technique?

Zhao Yufei wasn't surprised by it. She had always known about it.

It was a secret of her grandfather.

The cold wind blew past her face, carrying with it any lingering feelings she had for the Guanjun Palace.

Under the veil of the inky night, Zhao Yufei became the third disciple of Lord Guanjun to leave him in one day.

How sad.

A sharp glow radiated off her eyes which were like clear pools as she left unperceived under the camouflage of the shadowy night.
