Tianhua stood there quietly, as if tonight he felt it was enough just to listen to the music.

Creak...

The door opened, and two women walked towards Tianhua with smiles. One of them said, "Sir, the banquet is ready, please come in!"

With that, Tianhua followed the two women inside. As he entered, the door closed behind him.

The room was brightly lit, and a performance of song and dance was taking place on the central stage. A table in front of the stage was filled with food and drinks. Tianhua looked around, realizing that he seemed to be the only outsider tonight.

Seeing Tianhua come in, Hu Jinhua, accompanied by Murong Feiyan and several other women, smiled and greeted, "Sir, we are truly honored by your presence!"

Tianhua smiled back at Hu Jinhua.

Hu Jinhua smiled and invited Tianhua to sit down. As he sat, Murong Feiyan also sat beside him and said, "Sir, tonight we have prepared some wine as a token of gratitude for saving our lives twice. Let me toast to you!"

Murong Feiyan raised her wine glass towards Tianhua, then emptied it in one go. Tianhua also raised his glass and drank.

Following that, Hu Jinhua and the others also came to toast Tianhua. He accepted, and before he knew it, he had already had seven or eight glasses. Murong Feiyan, while pouring wine for Tianhua, commented, "Sir has a good capacity for alcohol."

Tianhua just smiled faintly.

After Hu Jinhua and the other women finished toasting, she said, "Sir, tonight, let Feiyan accompany you for more drinks. I have some matters to attend to!"

"Madam, please go ahead!" Tianhua said.

Hu Jinhua led a few women away. Turning around, she gave Murong Feiyan a meaningful look and nodded slightly.

While Murong Feiyan continued to pour wine for Tianhua, she expressed her admiration for him with affectionate words. Tianhua responded lightly, either by smiling or by watching the stage performance.

After three rounds of drinks, when Murong Feiyan was pouring wine for Tianhua again, she looked at him affectionately. Her gaze was tender, captivating Tianhua, who was momentarily stunned.

Realizing his inappropriate stare, Tianhua quickly withdrew his gaze and avoided looking at her again. He closed his eyes, lightly tapping the table with his hand, syncing with the music on the stage.

Seeing Tianhua like this, Murong Feiyan said with a smile, "Does Sir enjoy listening to music?"

"Yes, I do! This music is so touching, making one feel calm and forget many troubles," Tianhua replied.

"Why does Sir have so many worries?" Murong Feiyan asked.

"Yes, indeed!" Tianhua sighed.

"Can Sir share his troubles? Perhaps, I can help alleviate them," Murong Feiyan said.

"The troubles have already troubled my heart; there's no need to speak them out and trouble another person," Tianhua replied.

Murong Feiyan looked at him and fell silent. After a while, she said, "How about I sing a song for Sir?"

Tianhua nodded and said, "I would be honored to hear a song from Miss Murong!"

Murong Feiyan smiled and walked onto the stage. The other singing girls left the stage. She stood in the center, and as the music began to play, she started singing:

"In the distance, green mountains and waters surround,
Birds in the forest happily chirp.
Fish in the water frolic freely,
The one I love is
Working hard over there
Above the fields,
Herds of horses and cows graze.
Joyful children
Still sing joyfully.
But I left my hometown early,
Came to this unfamiliar place,
Seeking joy here.
Who knew what I obtained was worries and heartache.
The beautiful image in my heart
Has now become a fantasy,
Wandering on the road of life,
I've forgotten the village I came from.
I forgot the appearance of my hometown.
Fortunately, I met you,
You pointed me in the right direction.
Birds in the forest sing loudly,
Have I returned to my hometown again?"

Music evokes a sense of melancholy, and the singing induces sorrow. Tianhua stood there, listening. Images of his hometown flashed in his mind—thoughts of Irlan, Luoxin, his father, and mother. Reflecting on his current situation, neither leaving nor staying seemed like the right choice. Suddenly, he felt his eyes welling up, and two teardrops fell involuntarily.

Tianhua lifted his wine glass, downed it in one gulp, closed his eyes, and listened carefully, lost in thought.

As the song ended, Tianhua opened his eyes and watched Murong Feiyan descend from the stage. She sat beside Tianhua, expressing remorse, "Tonight, I intended to make the sir happy with some drinks and music. But just now, I couldn't help but sing this mournful song, considering my departure from home and the recent events. I hope the sir forgives me!"

Tianhua sighed and said, "You sang beautifully. People, drifting away from home, how can they not long for their hometown?"

"Does sir also miss his hometown?" Murong Feiyan asked.

"I see that it's getting late; I won't disturb you further. Thank you for your hospitality. I'll take my leave." Tianhua suddenly said.

After saying that, Tianhua stood up and walked towards the door.

Murong Feiyan was about to say something when Tianhua, like a gust of wind, reached the door, opened it, and strode away.

Murong Feiyan was left stunned for a moment. "That was too fast," she thought. Regaining her composure, she stood up and walked outside.

The bright moon hung high in the sky, and Tianhua's figure gradually disappeared in the night.

Leaning against the door, Murong Feiyan murmured, "He's truly a peculiar person."

The night was enchanting, and Tianhua suddenly enjoyed the darkness. The night was silent, allowing him to quietly contemplate.

As he walked, Tianhua arrived at the solitary bridge from that night. Tonight, the gentle sound of flowing water was faintly audible, but Tianhua's mind was more confused than ever. Murong Feiyan's singing echoed in his mind, each word and sentence piercing like a needle, stabbing into his heart. He could clearly feel the waves of pain. His heart was bleeding.

His hometown was not far from his current location, and he could return anytime he wished. However, he couldn't. His decision to leave was resolute, and going back now would be a challenge, facing his parents, especially Irlan.

No, he couldn't go back now.

But staying here, wasting time, was not a solution either. Leaving would implicate Han, the innkeeper, and others. How could he live with that guilt?

Go, or stay?

Anxiously pacing on the small bridge, the murmuring water masked the soft footsteps and sighs.

For some reason, he wanted to drink, to get drunk. He thought of the old man he met that night, and a bold idea flashed in his mind: go to the old man's house and have a drink.

With this thought, he unconsciously headed towards the old man's residence.

Tianhua could easily go back to Tianxiang Tower and drink, but he didn't want to. Murong Feiyan's face, that enchanting and captivating visage, was unforgettable. Whenever he saw that face, he involuntarily thought of Irlan. The pain in his heart surged uncontrollably, like a mechanism set by someone else, with Murong Feiyan's face as the trigger.

Tianhua arrived at the old man's residence. The gate was tightly closed. Tianhua looked at the closed gate, thinking, "Am I too impulsive? It's so late; I might disturb them!" With this thought, he considered leaving. But as he turned to leave, another thought occurred to him: "Since I'm here, I might as well go in! If it bothers them, I'll apologize!"

Tianhua approached and knocked on the door. The door slowly opened, and an old man stuck his head out, asking, "Who is it?"

Seeing the old man, Tianhua smiled and said, "Old man, is your master at home?"

The old man nodded and asked, "May I inquire about the sir's name?"

"Oh, just say a young man from the bridge late at night. Your master will surely know," Tianhua said.

The old man agreed verbally but was puzzled in his heart. What a strange young man; who announces themselves like that? If he reported this way, would the master find it odd? Despite his doubts, the old man had to report. If the visitor was an acquaintance of the master, it would be hard to explain otherwise.

The old man went to the backyard and found the master enjoying wine and flowers. Hesitating for a moment, he approached and said, "Master, there's a young man outside who claims to be 'a young man from the bridge late at night.'"

"A young man from the bridge late at night..." The master stroked his chin, pondering. Then, he smiled and said, "So it's him." He turned to the visitor and said, "Go and invite him in."

In a short while, Tianhua was brought in. The old man smiled at Tianhua and said, "Young brother, what brings you here tonight?"

Tianhua smiled apologetically, "Apologies for the late disturbance. I suddenly felt the urge to drink, and considering other inns might be closed by now, I thought your place might still be open. So, I dared to bother you."

The master laughed, "If that's the case, please have a seat." He gestured for Tianhua to sit and instructed someone to bring bowls and chopsticks.

After several rounds of toasts, the master put down his wine glass and asked, "How do you find the moonlit scenery in the courtyard?"

Tianhua looked into the courtyard, where the moonlight illuminated everything. Blossoms swayed gently in the wind, creating a picturesque scene. Tianhua sighed, "The courtyard is deep, clouds break, and the moon appears. Flower shadows dance around, stirred by the breeze, caressing reflections. The courtyard is deep, indeed."

The master clapped his hands, saying, "Well said!"

The two continued to drink, and before they realized it, the wine bottle was empty. When Tianhua reached for the bottle to pour more, he found it gone. The master immediately called, "Servant, more wine!"

"Old man, I think I should leave now. We've had our fill, and the wine is empty. Perhaps, it's time for me to go back," Tianhua said.

"It's still early; why not have a few more drinks?" the master suggested.

"Your kind offer is appreciated. If you don't mind the disturbance, I'll come again next time," Tianhua said.

"Always welcome!" the old man readily replied.

"In that case, I won't trouble you any further. I'll take my leave now," Tianhua stood up and said.

The old man nodded, then called out, "Someone." A person hurriedly approached, and the old man instructed, "Escort this young sir out for me."

Tianhua waved his hand, saying, "No need, I can find my own way out."

With that, Tianhua departed. The person still followed him from behind.

"Tianhua, Tianhua..." the old man murmured, gazing into the courtyard.

Tianhua, with a slight hint of drunkenness, returned to the inn. Stealthily entering the inn's courtyard, it was quiet at this hour. Guided by moonlight, Tianhua quietly entered his room.

By now, it was very late. Tianhua lay on the bed, closed his eyes, and refrained from overthinking. Soon, he entered the realm of dreams.

Early the next day, Tianhua prepared breakfast. Han, the innkeeper, emerged from the house, smiling as he looked at Tianhua. Perplexed by Han's expression, Tianhua asked, "Uncle Han, is there something on my mind?"

Han quickly shook his head and said, "No, no issues."

"Why are you looking at me like that then?" Tianhua inquired.

"I usually look at you like this!" Han replied.

"Really?" Tianhua was puzzled.

"Tianhua, it seems like you have something on your mind!" Han, with a smile, remarked.

"What could be bothering me?" Tianhua said.

"Hmm, I'll go call Xiaoling." Han stood up and walked into the house. Tianhua stood there dazed for a moment. Coming to his senses, he continued with his chores.

After the four of them had breakfast, each went about their tasks. Xiaoling didn't ask Tianhua to take her out that day and was happily playing in the backyard. Tianhua was helping in the front.

As it was still morning, there were no customers around. Tianhua and Han sat there chatting.

"Tianhua, do you have something on your mind lately?" Han inquired.

"Something on my mind? Why would I have anything on my mind?" Tianhua said.

"Tianhua, can you tell Uncle Han about that girl?" Han, with a smile, asked.

"Uncle Han, it's not what you think. I've only met her a few times, and there's nothing between us!" Tianhua explained.

"Met a few times?" Han raised an eyebrow.

"Yes. It's strange. I've met her four times and ended up saving her twice," Tianhua chuckled, shaking his head.

"That just shows you two are destined!" Han said.

"Destined, maybe," Tianhua replied.

While Han was about to say something, a person entered and asked, "May I ask which one is Tianhua?"

Tianhua looked at the person in front of him, whom he didn't recognize. He asked, "I'm Tianhua, who are you?"

"I'm here on behalf of my master to invite the young sir to Tianxiang Tower tonight," the person said.

"Who is your master?" Tianhua asked.

"My master is the town lord of this town," the person replied.

"Muxiong!" Tianhua muttered.

The person nodded, "My master hopes the young sir won't decline and must attend the banquet tonight."

"Tianhua, don't go. If Muxiong invites you tonight, it's definitely not for a good reason!" Han warned.

Tianhua looked at Han and said with a smile, "Uncle Han, nothing will happen!" Then he turned to the messenger and said, "You go back and tell Muxiong that I will definitely come tonight."

"Tianhua..." Han shouted loudly.

"Alright, I'll report back immediately!" The person said and left.

Tianhua watched the person's departing figure, thinking, "The day has finally come."

"Tianhua, how could you agree? It's definitely dangerous if you go tonight!" Han said.

"Don't worry, Uncle Han. Their people can't harm me. Besides, I've been waiting for him to come find me," Tianhua said.

"You've been waiting for him to find you?" Han asked in confusion.

"Yes, ever since Kong Xu left here until now, the inn has been calm and peaceful. Why hasn't Mu Xiong sent anyone? Because he knows it would take great effort to deal with me, so he wants to find an opportunity to talk," Tianhua said.

"What can he talk to you about?" Innkeeper Han asked.

"I have nothing to discuss with him, but he has many things to discuss with me," Tianhua replied.

"The more I listen, the more confused I get. Well, I won't say anything. Since you understand it yourself, I believe you must be confident!" Innkeeper Han said.

In the evening, as the sun set, the inn was bustling with people. Tianhua was busy in the inn when a horse-drawn carriage slowly arrived and stopped at the inn's entrance. A person descended and walked into the inn, glanced around, then walked straight to Tianhua, saying, "Sir, I am here on behalf of my master to escort you to Tianxiang Tower. Please get on the carriage."

Tianhua looked at the person, recognizing him from earlier in the day. Tianhua said, "It's a bit busy here right now, and I can't leave. Go back and tell Mu Xiong to wait."

The person looked surprised, glanced around, and realized that the young man who defeated Cheng Kong and others was now working as a waiter in this small inn!

"Very well, I will wait for the sir outside the door," the person said.

Night was approaching, the room was getting dim, and the person on the carriage outside occasionally looked inside. Tianhua sighed silently a few times but felt helpless.

As the number of guests gradually decreased, Tianhua said to Innkeeper Han, "Uncle Han, I'll trouble you here. I'll be leaving now."

"Alright, Tianhua, take care of yourself," Innkeeper Han reminded.

"Don't worry, Uncle Han, I'll be fine," Tianhua said with a smile.

Tianhua walked towards the carriage, and the person on the carriage, seeing him, hurriedly got off to welcome him. Tianhua boarded the carriage, and it swiftly departed.

In front of Tianxiang Tower, as quiet as that night, the lights were still visible inside, but it was now silent. Tianhua looked at the silent Tianxiang Tower, feeling a sudden sense of loss.

Tonight, Tianxiang Tower had been reserved by someone!

The attendant opened the door to welcome Tianhua. As he entered, he saw a table near the stage with a seemingly obese person sitting facing the door, smiling at him. Tianhua, looking at that face, felt a flash of anger. It was a face that people found detestable!

The Lord of Mountain City, Mu Xiong, beckoned to Tianhua. "Please, have a seat!"

Tianhua walked over and sat down, saying, "What brings you to me today?"

Mu Xiong looked at him, didn't answer immediately, and instead said, "I heard the dancers here are excellent. Let's enjoy a few songs before we talk."

At his command, some attendants went inside and soon brought out a dozen dancers. These dancers stood side by side next to their table. Mu Xiong smiled and said, "Do you want to choose the music, or should they arrange it themselves?"

Tianhua remained silent, picked up a bottle of wine from the table, poured himself a glass, took a sip, and then stared at Mu Xiong.

Mu Xiong seemed indifferent to Tianhua's actions and said with a smile, "You can arrange it yourselves!"

The dancers took the stage, and the music started. The dancers' movements were graceful, like celestial beings. The two people behind Mu Xiong were stunned. Tianhua and Mu Xiong, however, stared at each other below the stage, speechless for a long time, as if nothing else existed here.

"You brought me here not to silently stare at each other, right?" Tianhua broke the silence.

"I think you're a smart person. You should be clear about the purpose of my invitation," Mu Xiong smiled.

"I did guess a bit, but I think you're wasting your efforts," Tianhua said.

"Oh, I'd love to hear that," Mu Xiong said.

"You want to hear, but I don't want to say," Tianhua replied.

"Can't we sit down and talk properly?" Mu Xiong asked.

"We are talking right now," Tianhua said.

"Is there nothing good to talk about between us?" Mu Xiong asked.

Originally, there was nothing, but now there is," Tianhua said.

"Can we talk now?" Mu Xiong asked.

"It depends on what you mean," Tianhua said.

Mu Xiong shrugged and said, "Anytime."

Tianhua poured a glass of wine, took a sip, and said, "What do you want to do to make you stop?"

"Actually, what I want, you know very well. I spent a lot of effort capturing Lu Yunshan, only to be robbed by you. Originally, I wanted to find out Lu Yunshan's whereabouts from you and then capture him. But after you defeated my three most capable subordinates, I no longer cared about Lu Yunshan. I find you more interesting," Mu Xiong said.

"But I have no interest in you," Tianhua said.

"Young man, don't speak so absolutely. In certain matters, you are still very interested in me, such as how I will deal with you in the future," Mu Xiong said with a sly smile.

"I don't care how you deal with me," Tianhua said.

"Dealing with you is definitely tricky, the cost is high, and maybe there's no certainty. But one thing, I heard you've been living in 'Mountain City Inn.' The innkeeper there, Han, seems to take good care of you," Mu Xiong suddenly said with a wicked smile.

"Despicable!" Tianhua said angrily.

"Because the cost of dealing with a strong opponent is too high, but the cost of dealing with a weak one is relatively much lower," Mu Xiong said.

"But they have nothing to do with this matter," Tianhua said.

"I know that, but they have something to do with you," Mu Xiong said.

"You..." Tianhua said fiercely.

"In fact, you don't want to involve innocent people, right?" Mu Xiong said.

Tianhua looked at him, silent!

Mu Xiong saw this and felt pleased, then continued, "Dealing with you would cost a lot, and I'm not willing to do it. You don't want to serve me, and I understand. If you want us not to harm Han and the others, you just need to agree to one condition."

"What condition?" Tianhua asked, puzzled.
