Chapter 147: My Little Bunny

When he woke up again, Yan Yan was nowhere around him, and he reflexively jerked back up. Li Xiqing started to look around the room, trying to find her shadow.
"Oh! You're awake now?"
Li Xiqing turned his head around and saw Yan Yan was inside the tub by the balcony. Her hair was tied up and all he could see is her beautiful snow white shoulders peeking from the tub.
Her bare face was looking at him, before her lips suddenly pouted, and he heard Yan Yan said, "My body was aching when I tried to get out of the room, so I decided to soak for a while," she puffed her cheek, "You need to order us some food now. The kitchen is already closed."
And then she turned her head around to enjoy the view from the balcony and ignored him.
Li Xiqing shook his head helplessly. His wife was sulking because of the rigorous exercise this morning. He laughed at himself; he really needed to control his teenage desire for her. At least for the next few days.
If not, his wife might be scared away by his hunger.
He got out of the bed, and started to order some food for them.

She heard his solid steps thudding on the tatami floor. Shao Yan heard another sound, as if he was sitting or maybe kneeling by the tub, and then his warm hands were placed on her shoulders.
She tilted her head to the side, and met his stare.
"Good morning," Li Xiqing bended down and planted a kiss on her cheek. His big hands started to massage her nape, using the right pressure on her stiff neck, "Let me join you?" And then his hands moved to her shoulder, and started to smooth out the knot on the muscles.
Shao Yan just mumbled something, that Li Xiqing considered as a 'Yes'. He got up and lifted his feet one by one and entered the tub. His hand slid down her back, and placed his hands on both of her waist. Li Xiqing lifted her body up a little, before he positioned himself to sit behind Yan Yan.
And then he let her sat on his lap and pulled her body to lean on his embrace; his palm started to knead her lower back, "Does it also hurt here?"
He spoke softly by her ears. Somehow his whispers reminded her of their love making, either last night or this morning.
Li Xiqing always called her name lovingly and longingly, by her ears. And during every thrust that he did, sometimes he would nibble on her earlobe.
Shao Yan could remember his grunt and hot breath hovering by her neck. She felt that her heart was thumping so loud and her face gradually heated up now.
His thumb was pressing a point somewhere above her waist.
Shao Yan leaned her head on his shoulder. Her body went limp, she surrendered herself to the comfort of the hot spring water, and his massages.
"En. Very. It was sore all over my body."
Li Xiqing could hear a sound of complaint from her voice. He pursed his lips as he smiled at her pouting, "I'll bring you somewhere fun today. Don't sulk anymore, alright?"
Shao Yan did not reply him, but she slowly closed her eyes and gradually relaxed.
Li Xiqing saw that she started to fall asleep, so he stopped talking and kept kneading her knotted muscles around her lower back.
'Hubby will take care of you, wifey,' he thought to himself, and then he tilted his head and kissed her forehead, 'rest, my little bunny.'

She stood in front of a tall mirror near the entrance foyer. Shao Yan was checking her outfit for today, she turned her body to the left and right.
She had put on a white blouse and denim skirt that fell just right on top of her knee. She paired the look with black leggings to keep her thighs warm. Shao Yan turned her head to the side, to make sure she had put the red wide shawl and wool jacket by the foyer so she could put them on before they leave the room later.
A sound of sliding door was heard behind her, she swiftly turned around and saw Li Xiqing came out from the bathroom. A smell of lavender soap quickly filled the room, as she saw the fresh look on him.
He had put on a white polo shirt and denim pants; making him look younger than usual.
He walked to the bedroom, and when he came out again, his hand was holding a wool overcoat in dark blue color.
"Our food is cold now, why haven't you eat yet?" He said as he saw Shao Yan was still checking her appearance instead of eating.
He knitted his eyebrows as he frowned, "Your empty tummy needs food, come here now, let's eat."

"Where are we going today?"
Shao Yan was sitting in the living room, on a seat cushion by the low table. Li Xiqing had ordered a spread of local delicacies for their lunch, and Yan Yan was enjoying her food very much. The prefecture they were at now was famous for fish, so the meal box for today consisted of fresh grilled fish, only seasoned lightly with salt.
The box also came with Japanese rice and other dishes of home-grown vegetables, braised tofu, miso red bean with soy bean, some pickled plum, red bean and green bean mochi for dessert and miso soup.
The ryokan ladies also prepared hot roasted green tea every morning, along with other western options like fresh squeezed fruit juice.
"I remember, you told me before that you really love waterfalls," he picked up a tofu and started to chew on it, "there is a small forest nearby. Some locals told me that there is a beautiful waterfall about a ten minute walk from there."
Li Xiqing lifted his head, "How about we go there today?"
Shao Yan bobbled her head, "Yes, I have been really curious on the waterfalls here. I heard the government always try to keep any nature site to be as original as possible," she resumed her eating happily.
