Chapter 165: Doting Smile

The glass door was opened, and a pair of black stiletto heels started to walk out. The click clacking noise filled the empty hallway, followed by armies of gentlemen stomps.
Helen was fuming as she recalled what that crappy lawyer had said to her.
"What? Compensation?" she harrumphed unhappily.
"Is he joking? I did not even get to touch a single hair of that bitch, and now he's bringing me to court?" she scoffed loudly, "Hah! Is he stupid?"
Helen was fuming as she flipped her wavy, blonde hair to the side. She got a surprise attack when the meeting came to an end without any result. When suddenly Mr. Xin handed over a letter to discuss the mediation in court.
As she read the letter, her face became more pale, and her fingernails dug deep into the paper, almost tearing it apart to pieces.
Mr. Xin had mentioned that the meeting today was not successful as her party refused to cooperate. And then mentioned that Gold Crane would like to seek help from the court.

She turned to look at Charles who was walking calmly next to her, "Why aren't you saying anything? Cat got your tongue?"
The man who was trying to match her angry steps, suddenly paused on his track; prompting all the other men to also stop.
He tilted his head to the side, before he took off his reading glasses, and with another hand, reached out to his pants to fish out his silk handkerchief.
"I will think of something," he started to say while wiping the glasses with the cloth, "and i am just begging you, please don't create anymore problem for us, alright?"
He put the glasses back on, and slowly folded the handkerchief while glaring at her, "You know that Father will be informed about this incident right away," he paused as he noticed Helen flinched upon the mention of her father.
Charles stepped in closer to shorten the distance between the two of them, "You," he said slowly in a hushed voice while lifting one index finger to caress her cheekbone, "and I still need his money and power. Remember that, dear wife."
As he finished, he could feel that Helen shudders under his light touch, and her eyes are showing fear and timid that he has long forgotten.

"I've arrived. Just parked the car, and about to walk up now," Li Xiqing said as he closed the car door and turned to the direction to the exit.
After she had finished talking to Li Xiqing earlier, and got back to her desk, Shao Yan was quickly engulfed with work that she had momentarily forgot about her worry for Risa.
Shao Yan was working on an email to send a report of her visit to the printing house earlier. She was drafting her email when Li Xiqing called to tell her that he had arrived. She quickly saved the draft.
"Alright, I'll come downstairs now," she said as she clicked around to save her work, "oh! I will call Risa to let her know as well. I have sent a text message just now but I'm not sure if she got the chance to read it yet."
"I've texted Karl as well, don't worry, they will meet us at the lobby," Li Xiiqng said as he pressed the lobby floor button in the elevator panel.
"Alright then, I'll come down now. See you," she said as she quickly hung up and started to tidy up her belongings.

"What do you think they will do now?"
Risa and Karl were standing side by side inside the elevator; they were going down to the lobby to meet Shao Yan and Li Xiqing.
Karl, with both of his hands inside his pants pocket, was biting his inner cheek while thinking for an answer to reply Risa.
"Let me see," he started to say, "uh, based on my little understanding of the two of them, they will not believe our threats about going to the court. But they will also not going to back off and request help from Ido, because this is embarrassing."
He turned his head to look at Risa, "So I think, if I were them, I will try to meet you separately to talk, but this time, it will be neutral ground."
Risa slowly nodded along his words, while she kept thinking of other possibilities.
Karl shifted his long legs, to stand facing her, "So I have to warn you, do not go alone. I can go with you."
Risa saw his solemn expression, and gradually relaxed her tensed facial expressions. She let out a small smile and nodded, "Alright, I know."
Satisfied with her answer, Karl also nodded with her, before he raised one hand to pat her upper arm, "En, that's good."

When they arrived in the lobby area, Risa and Karl saw Shao Yan had stood in the corner waiting for them.
They also saw that Shao Yan was typing on her phone, unaware of other people and of her surroundings.
Risa had a doting, familial smile while thinking as she walked closer, 'Having a family who cares for you feels really nice.'
As they got closer, Shao Yan happened to lift up her face; and when they saw each other, Shao Yan broke into a wide smile, welcoming her.
"Did you wait long?" Risa asked when she finally stood in front of Yan Yan.
Shao Yan hit the send button, and then put the phone back into her jacket, and shook her head, "I just arrived here as well," and then she turned to look at Karl, "Daniel is on his way up."
Karl returned her smile, and nodded, "Thanks, he texted me, too."
The three of them decided to walk over to the lounge area to wait for Li Xiqing. Just as they were about to sit down, Shao Yan heard someone was calling for her.
"Yan Yan."
As she turned around, she saw him standing tall in front of her, in his most excellent look.
