Shao Yan had just arrived at the Y Museum to do site inspection for their end of year party.

Since it was an informal party, the participant scale could be bigger and more grand than usual, and the whole setup will be more casual and intimate; compared to the Anniversary celebration. And this was the reason why their team had decided to rent a space at the Y Museum.

This building was initially an aircraft hangar space that had been converted to an exhibition hall. The new space was still maintaining old charms and it was designed very meticulously by a Japanese architect. Shao Yan nodded as she recalled the history of the building and the whole transformation process. She could see the Japanese simplicity and elegance in this building.

From the outside, Shao Yan noticed that the full glass panel building looked like a giant glass cube.

The building was so grand and enormous, but at the same time, because it was located by the riverside, it looked tranquil and fragile.

Outside of the building were parks that stretch for miles. A spacious land next to it was transformed into a parking lot.

Shao Yan walked from the parking area to the building. Around the giant glass cube, bed of green grass was spread around it. No matter how far Shao Yan looked around, everywhere around her were all green beds. The whole scenery and feel that she got was a peaceful vibe.

The path that she was walking on was leading to the main door.

The main door was a combination of rotating doors and also normal doors. When Shao Yan entered it, her attention was quickly pulled to the greenery at her right side.

Several bamboo trees were planted in groups and they were placed about one meter from each other. The collections of bamboos stretched along the right side of the building glasses. And since the building had high ceilings, combined with bamboo trees that were able to touch the sky, the whole museum space looked much bigger and taller than usual.

Under those bamboo trees, comfortable sofas were installed for visitors to sit and relax during the museum visit.

Shao Yan arrived slightly around noon and the sun was shining so brightly. The sun rays seeped through the glass panels and bathed the bamboo leaves with the glittering, golden lights. The whole view seemed like an ancient painting that came out into a reality.

Shao Yan was mesmerized and started to explore around.

.....

At the mezzanine level, Shao Yan found a small cafe.

She walked to the corner to sit down, and took out her phone. She raised her wrist to glance at the time.

'Hm.. I came too early. Li Na and the rest should be arriving soon, I hope,' she thought to herself.

Shao Yan decided to check on some work emails while waiting for them to arrive.

Her team members had been coming to this site back and forth to take measurements of the place. They also had taken care of the negotiation and design, and all Shao Yan had to do today was signing off on everything.

She was scrolling through her phone, when someone called her name.

"Xiao Yan?"

She turned her head around in response, and saw Feifei was standing not too far from her.

"Xiao Yan! It's really you!" Her excited voice was heard first before Shao Yan saw Feifei hurried steps towards her.

Once she stood in front of Shao Yan, Feifei reached out her hands and held Shao Yan by her hands.

"What are you doing here? What a coincidence!" Feifei said very excitedly.

But the next second, she quickly pouted, "Where have you been? Our lunch and dinner dates always got postponed, I never got the chance to meet you anymore," she said as she sulked.

Shao Yan patted her hands, "I'm sorry, Feifei, I just have been super busy ever since I came back from vacation. And actually, I am here to work on my project. What are you doing here?"

.....

Feifei pulled her hands and brought Shao Yan to sit down together.

"Your company is Gold Crane Publications, right? They engaged me to do the dessert table for your event."

Shao Yan was surprised at this news. She only received the confirmed list of partners today, and had not gotten the chance to look at it.

Her eyes twinkled brightly as she clasped both of her hands around Feifei's, "That's great news, Feifei. I'm so happy for you."

Feifei returned her excitement with her own grin.

"When someone called me to tell me that I got it, I was so happy, too. This will be great for my publicity, Yan Yan. So, thank you," Feifei said and then she leaned in closer to give Shao Yan a hug.

Shao Yan burst to laugh as she patted Feifei on her back, "What thanks? I didn't even do anything," she said.

She slowly released Shao Yan go, her face showed a concerned look. Feifei was hesitating for a while, and then she said, "Xiao Yan, my brother told me uh," and then Feifei paused and started to fidget on her seat.

"Do you know that Liwei is back, Xiao Yan?"

.....

Shao Yan had suspected that Feifei was about to ask this question. Her face turned solemn and she was surprised at herself for being cso calm as she said, "Yes, I have met him," and to not make Feifei misunderstood, Shao Yan quickly said, "it was all coincidental. Xiqing was there too."

Feifei initially showed a panic face when Shao Yan said that she had met Liwei again, but when she heard Li Xiqing was also around, Feifei heaved a sigh of relief.

"I wanted to text you when I heard that, but my brother said not to make you sad by reminding you again," her voice was so soft, Feifei was recounting their happy moments during university days, and how things turned to the worse that her two best friends had to be fallen out of love and now she was hurt.

"I'm sorry, Xiao Yan. I should have been there for you," Feifei started to say dejectedly.

"A-although I did not know what happened, but I can see that he was the one who hurt you," Feifei took Shao Yan by her hands and held them tightly, "Zhong Yu also kept warning us not to bring this up in front of you. I'm so sorry, Xiao Yan."

Feifei felt an immense guilt for not being around Shao Yan when she was hurt and it had been eating her the past few years. She felt these words were necessary to let Shao Yan know that she was also concerned.
